           what do you think it was? terrorist intervention? a freak accident? pilots with a coke habit? i hope you have an idea. because i don’t. there’s nothing that explains what’s going on here for elliot. he hasn’t even seen mr robot since the plane went down. i think i hit my head pretty good. everything feels … rattled. her voice crackles and fades in, rising above the background noise. elliot wrinkles his nose and accepts the mint, popping it into his mouth with a grateful nod. “ thanks. better than nothing. ” beat. “ what’s your name? ” oddly enough, now doesn’t seem like the time for social anxiety.

     “Kate.” There’s something immediately comforting about this, because at the same time as she can feel the discomfort radiating off him she can tell he’s trying to try, clinging to social niceties the way she is. Her eyes narrow against a blade of sunlight. “You?”

What I can do has nothing to do with chatting with ghosts, you nitwit. It’s a feeling, a sense. When somebody’s dead, their brain stops functioning, which means there’s no more talking. There’s just who they were and whatever they knew before they died.
