it's something you don't realise until you're on the other side of the fence, but disabled people - especially disabled people who are unable to work or study - are pretty much segregated from the rest of society. even besides the way that a lot of services aimed at disabled people are in the deadest hours of the week, society is so inaccessible, and revolves so strongly around the working day that when you're not in that system it's like living in another world entirely
