Ok so all of my empires posts have been about Lizzie (shocker) so how about I share a little Mezalia headcanon of mine?

So many people have created headcanons surrounding Joel’s clones being made from clay which I ADORE so here’s my spin on it.

Mezalian clay is enchanted. It can detect feelings and intentions, and if it believes that the sculptors feelings and intentions are pure, it will bring the sculpture to life.

This is how mezalian babies are born. When a couple decides they’re ready they will be gifted enchanted clay to use. They take as long as they wish to build their perfect child and then take the unhardened clay to an enchanted kiln. It’s a whole ceremony with friends and family where the clay is fired and if they clay decides the couple is worthy the child should come to life.

Because the parents sculpt the child themselves often times they are unintentionally influenced by the beauty standards of the kingdom, which often are that of King Joel. This is why many of Joel’s citizens resemble him.
