To A New Dawn

After many months, I finally finished the piece!! :DD

I wanted to challenge myself, and since the main story of BNHA was ending at the time, I decided to draw all nine one for all users in the same piece because I rarely drew more than one or two characters.

And while BNHA was airing it's final season, I was also playing HSR during the amphoreus arc and that was also ending. So the title is kind of a homage to that specific arc.

also COMPLETELY unrelated but when people talk abt stuff like quirkless vigilante izuku and whether toshi would be for or against it (generally they paint him as against it because it's usually an all might bashing dadzawa fic COUGHS who said that) i feel like people miss the obvious

girl he WAS that quirkless vigilante. anything he'd say about that would come from a place of having tried to BE that quirkless vigilante at FOURTEEN YEARS OLD. not get into ua. not get mentored. toshi's goal was to STOP CRIME with a LEAD PIPE and NO QUIRK

Izuku: I've decided to lock down One for All, perhaps in a vault, until I'm ready to face it.

What's hilarious about this conclusion is that Izuku just realized One for All was sentient. It was merely days after Yoichi showed Izuku his backstory where All for One locked him in a vault and forced power on him against his will. Izuku just determined the past wielders were alive within One for All, which of course included Yoichi. And then Izuku created a mind vault and locked Yoichi in it with the other wielders along with the power that was forced upon him.

The completely unresolved Izuku-All for One parallels were such wasted potential. The manga addressed the physical similarities between All for One and One for All, but it never did anything interesting with All for One and Izuku's parallels as individuals.

And beyond that, this mind vault thing created the potential for conflict between Izuku and One for All's wielders that was never explored because as much as the vestiges were alive to some extent, Izuku's initial response was not to treat them like people.

Apparently a lot of people get dialogue punctuation wrong despite having an otherwise solid grasp of grammar, possibly because they’re used to writing essays rather than prose. I don’t wanna be the asshole who complains about writing errors and then doesn’t offer to help, so here are the basics summarized as simply as I could manage on my phone (“dialogue tag” just refers to phrases like “he said,” “she whispered,” “they asked”):

“For most dialogue, use a comma after the sentence and don’t capitalize the next word after the quotation mark,” she said.

“But what if you’re using a question mark rather than a period?” they asked.

“When using a dialogue tag, you never capitalize the word after the quotation mark unless it’s a proper noun!” she snapped.

“When breaking up a single sentence with a dialogue tag,” she said, “use commas.”
