The first illustration was my attempt to practice conceptual art for landscapes and express my inexplicable passion for these two. I intended to capture the moment they teleport to the Fade with Solas's magic, right after the ending of Veilguard.

The art is a mix of digital painting and photobashing, which, btw, I’m finding really fun to make. The Black City silhouette was based on a Gothic cathedral, simply because it’s my favorite architectural style, haha.

I thought about its composition after deciding to make a comic (the WIP below), an idea I’ve had since finishing the game.

A friend of mine said it’s beautiful how Solas and Lavellan look like they’re heading to Disney.

SO, I always thought Mythal would be a very tall and imponent elf (taller than our eggboy), who would be a living symbol of justice for the Elvhen people. So I drew her like I imagined her to be before the Veilguard design. Her overall design is based on dragons and Flemeth, as well as her color pallet.

I used to see Mythal and Elgarnan as different sides of the same coin, Justice and Venagence side by side. In the end of Inquisition, I imagined her spirit shifting toward vengeance, shaped by the betrayal and what was done to her. “She was betrayed as I was betrayed, as the world was betrayed! Mythal clawed and crawled her way through the ages to me and I will see her revenge!“ - Flemeth. I really thought she would be a final boss for DA5, but oh well.

This sketch was inspired by that Naruto scene where the senseis stop Neji from attacking Hinata. It’s just something I imagined could have happened. I like to think Cassandra would be absolutely furious with Solas—for obvious reasons—and that everyone else would feel the same.

I originally drew Dorian and Blackwall in the scene as well, but I removed them because it felt too crowded.
