NEW AU - Flicktale

It was an accident really, they just got teleported without warning. While worried filled their minds at first, they soon realized that this was a great place to take refuge from the humans, despite it only taking a couple of them.

A little bit after the first fallen human, Chara died to buttercups. Asriel attempted to put her on the surface but was stopped by a blinding white light, like the other monsters.

The group was teleported into a void, The void. The place where they live in isolation for thousands of years down the line.

The void is suffocating, no, that still isn't an intense enough word.

The only thing they have are the TVs. In the depths of its glossy black exterior lies a portal to an alternate reality. Monsters, Humans that are similar to them, yet different. It was interesting, very interesting.

And the best part?

They can manipulate it all they like! Well to the best of their abilities. Speed up, Slow down, paused, Send small messages, and even change the sounds in these so-called "shows".

However, the real kicker was when a certain monster, was able to bring a "Character" to their void.

Their town! They don't have to be alone anymore,. They can take these Characters, ones they love and adore, to them!

I wonder what else they can do...

I jest.

Anyhow~,

What better way to use this opportunity than to have a little fun with them?

I'm sure they can use a break.

0 flickers. I’ve been exploring this….place for quite some time. I still cannot tell what this place is exactly? A void? A vortex? A black hole? Whatever the case, there’s nothing here. It’s quiet to where silence is loud. It is as blank as it is blinding. It is as lonely as it is cold. It’s very interesting, despite being in this predicament, I assure you that I’ll find a way out of here. My determination holds no bounds.

It’s been…quite a while. There’s no sense of time here. If only I could read flicking lights, I might be able to count the seconds I stared at this wall. I found this television, though it doesn’t seem to be working. The screen doesn’t react with the control monitor. I tinkered with the back, but the wires don’t seem to connect to anything. Without power, it might as well be electricity without a conductor. Despite this, I have a feeling that this television is useful to me somehow. I’ll sit here with it for a while, maybe I’ll get something.

63,331,200. 63,331,200 times. That’s how many times the light flickered. That’s from what I know. I have no clue how long I’ve been in here. I’d hate to even say that, for the first time, I’m almost completely clueless about my scenario. It’s not like I can do anything else, but think about it though. It’s like adding a speck of sand into the ocean, getting whisked away after a moment's time, contrary to me though, the speck of sand would actually be useful to the ocean….probably.

I don’t even know where I’m going with this metaphor.

I suppose I can now understand what isolation does to the mind. If only someone else could understand this feeling. To know I’m not insane, just one of the unlucky few.

Televisions are a gateway to another universe. A story is shown from someone else’s perspective. A way for you to understand what others are feeling, thinking, and understanding. However, you cannot truly understand what you don’t experience. Dear viewer, reader, and watcher. On this day, 63,439,200 flickers. I have made history. I have controlled the ability to make voids, vortexes, places where others can go, a slice in the universe yet to be unused! Unseen! And inside that split, are monsters, same as me. I wonder, can they do what I can too? This is very interesting. Quite interesting.

If you give a monster a single egg, it will snack. Give them a plate, and they will eat. Give them a box, and they will feast. They have learned the ability to bring others to them. Decided to make a way to entertain themselves. They are taking others from their own dimensions and putting them into theirs. One monster’s belief is their opinion. A few would be a religion. They’re making a bible. Forcing everyone to follow down the path of entertainment with them. I’ll follow suit and see where they go. This is interesting, very interesting.

I actually kinda like this so ima put it here. If you want a small explanation, it’s below!

So what I’m imagine is that Sugar (Asriel) was attempted to be very kind, and loving to Buttercup (Chara) right after she fell.

Buttercup believes that all people, humans and monsters are equally bad, which leads to her shoving off Sugar’s attempts to consult her.

After a couple months or so, Buttercup slowly starts to open up. Every time she does so, she shuts it down before Sugar can notice anything, to keep her pride and beliefs in tact.

At the very end of the video, it shows Buttercup finally opening up, though it is very slight, it is enough to make Sugar overly excited.

Every since then, they’ve had a solid relationship. They’re best friends.

If only Sugar had the ability to save her.

“Helllooooo~ is this thing on…?”

“It’s probably a bit slow..we did pick up off the ground and everything.”

There’s an intense shaking sensation. You feel like you’re bouncing around, and your eyes wobble a bit. When it stables, it’s a bit blurry but you can see the silhouette of a monster and a flower.

“You’re acting like I don’ know that dumbass.”

There’s a small silence, an implied eye roll has been set in stone, from who is the real question.

“You think Teacup can let us keep this thing??”

The flower questions, as you feel yourself being flipped over.

“Dunno….I mean it’s just a camera. It doesn’t even seem like there’s anything in it. Not even any film..”

You get flipped over again, getting faced to face with the goat monster, getting a closer look at his emerald green eyes. The flower seems to grab you out of his hands, and with a bit of struggle successfully they do so.

“The LED is on though, along with the dial being switched out…”

There’s a small pause.

“It’s also loud as hell… it’s obviously on.”

“Well, what do we do with it?”

“Take it and record the other's dark secrets, duh.”

“Wha- Buttercup! The fuck!”

“What? It’s a good idea!”

“The camera doesn’t even have film it can’t record anyways-!”

The argument quickly tunes out, as you feel a bubble in your throat. Where are you? Who are they? Why are you a supposed “camera”? These questions whirl in your head for a good minute.

Maybe if you try speaking, they might take notice? They could tell you where you are? And maybe remember something.

You do have one memory though. One line that tickles in the back of your head.

"And you, dear viewer, can surely use some entertainment.”
