Just one of the many DnD characters I have prepped for later use. Overdramatic bard man with a terrible secret but the secret he's most worried about is a much smaller deal than the one people would actually care about.

Comic-ish drawing for an art challenge. These two were entirely separate concepts until I realized they would be friends, so they get to share a story now.

Started an art challenge with some friends a while back (and haven't touched it in a bit but I'll get to it). First character is an archfey from my homebrew DnD setting, ended up really liking his colors (except for maybe the orange, that might change).

It's that time of year again when I remember I should post.

So. Hi. I feel like I say it every time but I do live.

The good, since I didn't really address it much: I got a new computer! Like, 3 months ago? The old one was just giving out on me so I finally retired it. This one is generally higher end and can actually screen record! I've vaguely alluded to it in tags, but I want to try streaming at some point. Haven't yet due to a few different things getting in the way.

Such as: I got a new job! It's been. An experience. I'm only a few weeks in but it's fine so far, it just takes a lot of my time and energy and has thus cut into art things.

As for the not great things: I seem to be doomed to pen issues. It fought me the entire time I drew this. A new computer hasn't fixed it, changing batteries hasn't fixed it, a different pen, updating drivers, you get the idea. I can work around it, it just makes digital art a bit annoying (here's hoping it'll get me to traditional art more).

Finally, as I mentioned on my main a while back, this new computer managed to wipe it's own hard drive after 2 months of having it. The computer has been fixed, obviously, but I hadn't backed up any of the new files on it and thus lost a good few, including alternate versions of the last two pieces I posted and a pngtuber I had prepared for streaming purposes. Thankfully, I had shared some images with friends, so while I don't have the layered versions I at least have something.

But uhhh. Yeah, that's your update. Longer than I meant, woops.

As for near future, I'm not doing a daily challenge for October on account of job, but a friend mentioned I could try a weekly one and I'm probably (hopefully) gonna do that.

So. Yeah. See you then.

One of those things in which the idea wouldn't leave my brain. Kept telling myself I'd stop at various points only for it to look weird without the next step, so it accidentally got done in one sitting.

Had a really vivid dream a while back and woke up with the need to draw it, so here's that.

Been wanting to redraw my main's icon for a while and finally got around to it. Plus I'll always take an opportunity to draw space visuals.

Realized a while ago that I had never drawn Glitch's sleeper agent thing despite it being the only real characterization they have and a clear visual in my head, then it turned into lineless practice.

Got one more last minute ref done before Art Fight because I realized I had a character that fit Seafoam to go along with the Space Man for Stardust.

Bo Crocus (he/him) is the first mate and quartermaster on the Scabbard, a pirate ship in everything but general hostility. The crew goes around stealing magic artifacts that are left on display and giving them to people who will actually put them to use.

Character Notes: - Bo is a plant sorcerer, a fact that is unrelated to his interest in flowers and his naming himself after one (he developed that interest before realizing he had magic). - He's also the crew's cook, mostly because he doesn't trust anyone else to make food. - He's a very emotional person, being a bit hotheaded and blunt but also caring and often protective of those he cares most about or sees as less capable of defending themselves.

Design Notes: - He never wears sleeves shorter than the elbow; he has scars he doesn't like looking at. - The rings on his sword's hilt are in the colors of two of his crewmates: the red is for the captain, his adoptive sister, and the teal is for the navigator, a long-time friend (Wave, who I drew in my alphabet challenge). - By default, the flowers he creates are orange, like his eyes (and blood and the inside of his mouth), though he can change the color if he has something specific in mind.

Realized partway through this reference that I managed to grab both of my amnesia plots for this batch of characters I've been working on. I swear it's only the two.

Kip (they/them) is a mystery in all regards. All anyone else knows about them is that they just appeared one day in the most violent way possible: as the source of the fire that would destroy the town of Cley. Kip, however, only remembers waking up after the fact and being ostracized for what they apparently did.

Character Notes: - The loneliness of being pretty much left out of (what remains of this world's) society bothers them more than they'll admit. - Their mask is pretty much the only thing they've had since they first appeared. They take better care of it than anything else they own. - Despite their violent reputation, they tend to act pretty chill unless really stressed. So chill, in fact, that they don't tend to take real threats all that seriously.

Design Notes: - If they aren't wearing the mask, things have gotten bad. - The blue in their eyes is slightly brighter than their jacket and mask. The same goes for the red of their hair versus their shirt and mask.

Apollo Zatani (he/him) is an elemental, someone who was saved from death and blessed with exceptionally strong magic related to what would have killed him. Most elementals go on to use their new power to help others, Apollo included, but to say he only does it out of kindness wouldn't be entirely accurate.

Character Notes: - Apollo is known as a space (or void) elemental. His main use of his magic is teleportation, though he could hypothetically also use it to temporarily distort space to a degree. - He can also create minor constructs (such as in the image second from the right), but this requires complete focus on the object for as long as it is used, or else it disappears. - Personality-wise, there's not much to say initially on account of Apollo pretty much basing his life around being an elemental. He got it in his head that he's only really still alive to help others, so he doesn't let himself have much of a life beyond that (he'll get over it eventually).

Design Notes: - The wings and blue markings are there due to him being an elemental (his hair being blue is also a side effect, it was originally black). The markings specifically will glow when a construct is in use (or when he's otherwise using a lot of magic). - His wings are based off beetles, though he doesn't actually fly too much (have you heard large beetles when they fly? Apollo's flight is that but worse). - His ear-gills and eyes are not elemental things; he's the more aquatic of the two human offshoots in this world. The inside of his mouth (and his blood) also have the same color as his eyes, which is a trait of everyone in this story's world (I have very specific thoughts about color in this world's cultures and will probably make a separate post to rant about it later).

Oh hey, an actual character reference. Character info under the cut so the post doesn't get too long.

Envy (she/they) is the first protagonist of one of my oldest story projects, HayWire (and one of my oldest characters). At the beginning, she's an amnesiac with a hero-complex who's trying to figure out how they got here while also getting caught up in everything else in town. She ends up working as an adventurer/explorer thing that I am not fully explaining here because it'd take too long and this is a character post.

Character Notes: - She has both electricity and light magic (though I keep forgetting the light magic). They didn't initially remember either when they first came too, but electricity was remembered first. - They are incredibly stubborn (which is how Volt ended up with an actual teammate) and stupidly brave, to the point that she can be pretty reckless. - Aside from the amnesia, they actually have a pretty good memory, which frankly just makes her more confused as to what happened.

Design Notes: - Exact outfit can vary, but this is the main one. She tends to prefer more athletic wear and typically wears patterns resembling lightning or gears (seen on the shirt and bandana, respectively, or you can see the gear pattern more on this post). - Their ears are slightly pointed and they do have fangs (there is a world-building reason for it, but that is also not being explained here, mostly because Envy doesn't initially remember). - The clock on her sash does reflect the time in-canon.

Started a randomized run of Explorers of Sky a while ago and got immediately attached to my team, so here they are.

Some other randomizer highlights include Wigglytuff swapping to a spinarak, Diglett and Dugtrio managing to randomize to the same pokemon, and Grovyle swapping to Mewtwo, which I'm still not over.
