Henri started off as a deckhand on his parents’ ship. They used to sail the skyways without any care for danger, amassing gold and glory while living freely. Unfortunately, a fellow crewmember decided that it wasn’t good enough to just be a follower, and staged a mutiny. Henri’s parents did not survive the attack, and the traitor kept Henri’s little brother hostage to force Henri to do his bidding. Henri obeyed and laid low for a while to wait for an opportunity to take back his parents’ ship, however his attempt ultimately failed and his little brother was tossed overboard as ‘punishment’ for his disobedience. It would be months before Henri finally escaped with nothing left to his name.
Eventually, Captain Henri returned to the skyways to find his brother, and to put his broken family together again.

That tattoo actually has a lot of bad history behind it though.. though both Kane and Isaac didn’t know at first.
