Everyone is looking for that special someone, but just imagine for a second that they’ve been right under your nose the whole time. Your friend, your best friend…you hang out all the time, you enjoy the same things. Isn’t it only natural that friends would turn into something more? You already know each others darkest secrets so there’s nothing to hide. All that boring getting to know you stuff is out of the way and the chances are, if you hang out enough you’re gonna find something special about them. It’s you, April, my friend that I like. Dex: I’m scared that your life is just gonna power on ahead and I don’t know whether I can keep up. And I don’t want your sympathy, April. I just want to be realistic. I’m half a year behind in my degree and I don’t know what’s gonna happen with these seizures. April: Yeah, but does anyone? None of us know how anything is ever gonna play out. Doesn’t mean that we give up. You call the university, you tell them you’ll take on a reduced work load, one, two classes a week. Dex: Then my degree’s gonna take forever.

I know you thought you would be better by now, but this diagnosis is not the end of the world. Dex, you could have died in that accident, but you didn’t. You’re alive and you have a father that will care for you, friends and family that love you and me. And I’m not too bad, right? We are stronger than this. We are stronger than anything life can throw at us. So you’re gonna get it together because our new life starts right here, right now. I’m gonna stop floating in-between places and move back into the farm and you are going back to uni. We’ll manage your condition. It certainly isn’t going to stop you studying part-time. We will live together, we will go to uni together and we will be happy.
