the thing about ai witch hunt is that instead of spreading awareness about why and how ai can be harmful, people focus their energy on harassing other people instead. so instead of actually achieving something, fandom space and the internet as a whole just became twice as toxic because people have found a ✨noble way✨ to tell other people to off themselves and get praises for it. you’re not helping. you’re part of the problem

Chapter 19 Teaser
"You're a great artist Johnny, genuinely. I'm impressed," Simon noted gruffly, without looking directly at his partner. Johnny blushed but didn't say a word. "Thank you for doing that," Simon continued softly, "For drawing me. I've never seen myself through the eyes of another, let alone the eyes of someone who has genuinely loved me. You make me seem so… beautiful," His ears began to heat with embarrassment, unsure if he was making a fool of himself or not.
Johnny turned to face him with a soft smile and a gentle nod, "I'm glad I could make you feel that way. It's because you are, Si, you're right fuckin' bonnie. And I am so unbelievably happy that fate brought us together—"
Simon cut Johnny off with a soft chuckle, "Fate? You actually believe in that stuff?"
"Yes Simon Riley, I, John MacTavish believe in fate. I firmly believe that fate brought us together, and I am eternally grateful that it did," Johnny huffed back, puffing out a bit defensively.
Simon held up his hands, a truce type gesture. "Believe whatever it is you want to believe Johnny, whatever helps get ya through the day," he chuckled, a grin threatening to split his face in two.
Johnny giggled back and moved on, turning to watch the rain splatter through the trees on its way to the ground.

Chapter 18 teaser
As soon as the door was opened the smell of fresh pancakes and hot bacon filled his nostrils. Simon must be cooking breakfast. Johnny was comforted by the thought that Simon was doing such a thing to take care of him, and that Simon hadn't run away or gotten hurt after last night's events. He was still naked, and he turned away from the open door to find a pair of sweatpants.
The pair he found were Simon's and they were much too big for Johnny. Simon was tall in the legs, but Johnny was tall in the torso. The legs drug against the ground and Johnny had to roll them up to avoid tripping on them. Once he was satisfied with his current state of dress he slid past the bedroom door and out into one of many long hallways. He wandered down for what felt like forever, and eventually he stumbled into the kitchen where he found Simon standing over a pan of bacon, a griddle of pancakes bubbling and cooking next to him.
"Mornin' love." Simon practically chirped as he felt Johnny's presence step into the room. Johnny giggled a bit and stepped up so that he was behind Simon, wrapping his arms around his waist and smiling softly.
"Good morning!" Johnny half corrected with a grin. "It's a good morning because my lovely boyfriend is cooking me a delicious breakfast and I get to eat it while staring at his pretty face." Simon couldn't help but blush at his words. He'd always made a point to cook breakfast for his current partner, especially if they'd had any sort of below the belt fun at any time before breakfast time. To hear the, in his opinion, simple act, praised sent little shockwaves rippling through him.

Chapter 17 Teaser
Simon wasted no time in carrying Johnny in from the gym, in classic princess style once again. In mere seconds in felt like, they were in the bedroom and Johnny was being gently tossed against the bed and his pants were being worked off. This time, there was no slowly creeping anxiety, the only things that were present was his adoration for Simon, and his will to be this close to his lover. The sound of a belt buckle clinking, then a zipper, then the whoosh of fabric being swept away from skin, those were the first noises to fill the room. Johnny's cock sprang away from him as his boxers were stripped from him as well, the head already pink and leaking. Simon took a moment to admire him, taking in every ounce and every angle. He bent down to smother Johnny's face in kisses, working his way down slowly.
Johnny had already been shirtless from their stint in the gym, so once his pants were worked off of him he was completely bare and exposed to the air. This only added to it for him. With little warning, Simon gave a little nip to Johnny's collarbone, grinning at the whine it pulled from the shorter man. He sucked on the plush skin for a moment, relishing in the taste of sweat that clung to him. He knew this would leave a mark, and that was exactly what he was going for. He wanted anyone who happened to see Johnny in any way to know exactly who he belonged to.
Johnny's hands found their way up to Simon's shoulders and he dug his nails in, marking Simon in a similar way. Simon groaned against Johnny's skin and moved back up to bring their lips together in another heated kiss. Teeth clinked, moans were lost in gasping mouths, and the sounds of lovers being torn away from each other in a desperate search for oxygen resounded through the room.

Chapter 16 Teaser
"Show me the bedrooms love, I am exhausted after that flight." Johnny agreed with Simon's unspoken thoughts and Simon whisked them off down another hallway with many doors, all bedrooms by Johnny's guess. How could this place possibly be so big? It made no sense, but Johnny was too tired to think about any of that. Instead he let himself be led down the hallway and off to a door painted in a black and white checkerboard pattern.
Johnny was surprised it wasn't some sort of skeleton painted on the door, but once Simon opened the door it was like seeing a whole new side of him. The room was bright, the windows open and the bed covered with a sheet of plastic to keep the dust off. Underneath the plastic it looked as if the bed was fully made, with a fluffy red comforter draped delicately across it.
Simon stepped into the room and whisked away the plastic, revealing that it was in fact fully made and ready to go. He also pulled a thing of air freshener, not sure how he got that on the plane, and sprayed the room. He also sprayed the bed, removing the smell of dirt and must that had gathered in the time that Simon had spent away from this house, or more likely, this room.
While Simon prepared the bed and surrounding space, Johnny took a peek around the room. He was slowly noticing that a good portion of the decor in the room was in red. Then it dawned on him. He had never asked Simon what his favorite color was. Of course, there wasn't always a lot of room for small talk in the military, but they had been out of there together for a while, so why hadn't Johnny asked?
"So, red yer favorite color then?" He probed without looking over, praying that Simon wouldn't be upset with him for only asking now.
"Yeah, it is." Simon nodded as he fluffed up the pillows and laid them out the way he knew Johnny liked. It was a simple gesture, yet Johnny couldn't help but want to cry about it in the best way. Simon didn't press any further into why Johnny had never asked about his favorite color, and that also make him want to cry. Sure he felt guilty, but Simon didn't seem to mind. He offered the information willingly, with a smile on his face and everything.

Chapter 15 Teaser
Simon's truck was nothing special. It was on the smaller side of trucks, and it was a plain silver color. He didn't have any interesting bumper stickers or window decals, it was bare. Simon nodded, offering a small smile and turned his truck off, giving the attendant the keys and hopping out to help Johnny with his crutches.
A moment or two later two more attendants arrived, one grabbed their luggage and the other began to escort them to the on-ramp of the plane. "Lovely day out today, isn't it?" The attendant escorting them tried to make small talk, but suddenly Simon was growing anxious. What if Johnny hates the cabin? What if he doesn't like living there with me? What if he hates living so far out? All these anxious thoughts coursed through him and made his hands begin to tremble as they entered the plane.
The attendant showed them their seats, and another attendant, this one dressed in a rich red color, walked by with a tray of pre-flight snacks. Price must've really paid for everything with this one. Simon nodded, grabbing a small bag of cashews with shaking hands, and watching as Johnny leaned across him to reach the neatly wrapped cookies that lay on the tray.
"Thank you!" Johnny beamed and looked to Simon, finally noticing how bad his hands were shaking. He quickly scooped up both of Simon's hands in his own and held them firmly as an attempt to soothe the trembling. "It's gonna be alright, love. Tell me what's bothering ya?" Johnny probed softly, his voice barely a whisper.
"What if you hate it?" Simon whispered back, squeezing his eyes shut, attempting to prevent the tears from escaping them.
"Hate living with you? Oh Si, if I hated living with ya, I wouldn'ta stayed in the hotel with ya." Johnny shook his head softly, leaning up to kiss Simon's masked forehead gently. "I'm sure your cabin is lovely, and I'm excited to get away from everything. I'm tired of the constant hustle in the city."
Simon stifled a sob at Johnny's words and nodded softly, whispering a soft thank you before he turned his gaze to his feet. Though Johnny had reassured him, a tiny voice in his head still begged for him to be worried and he was too weak to not give in.
Apparently a lot of people get dialogue punctuation wrong despite having an otherwise solid grasp of grammar, possibly because they’re used to writing essays rather than prose. I don’t wanna be the asshole who complains about writing errors and then doesn’t offer to help, so here are the basics summarized as simply as I could manage on my phone (“dialogue tag” just refers to phrases like “he said,” “she whispered,” “they asked”):
“For most dialogue, use a comma after the sentence and don’t capitalize the next word after the quotation mark,” she said.
“But what if you’re using a question mark rather than a period?” they asked.
“When using a dialogue tag, you never capitalize the word after the quotation mark unless it’s a proper noun!” she snapped.
“When breaking up a single sentence with a dialogue tag,” she said, “use commas.”
“This is a single sentence,” she said. “Now, this is a second stand-alone sentence, so there’s no comma after ‘she said.’”
“There’s no dialogue tag after this sentence, so end it with a period rather than a comma.” She frowned, suddenly concerned that the entire post was as unasked for as it was sanctimonious.
Dude i fucking hate pronouns (not in a phobic way but in a writer way where there are only so many forms of one pronoun that exist and somehow i have to use them all in several consecutive sentences without my work looking so astronomically bad)

Chapter 14 Teaser
Simon kept his gaze focused on the road, but an anger and resentment was brewing in his gut. He couldn't stand the idea that someone had laid hands on his Johnny in such a way. He wanted to fly out there and teach them a lesson, but he knew he couldn't do that to Johnny.
"'M telling ye all this because I want to have you… I want you to take me, so I can take back what they took from me… but I'm scared Si… I'm so scared." Johnny sniffled quietly, his whole body trembling now.
Simon snaked a hand away from the wheel and across the centre console, taking one of Johnny's tremoring hands to rub soothing circles across his knuckles with a thumb. "Nothing happens until you feel ready, Johnny. You're in control. If we get that far and you want me to stop, I stop. We'll come up with a safe word and everything."
Johnny sniffled again and swiped a sleeved arm across his face gently. "Thank you Simon… I'm sorry to spring this on you so suddenly, I just couldn't find the right time and I needed to get it off my chest before it ate me alive."
"Johnny, look at me. You have nothing to apologize for. They do. They owe you an apology and so much more. Please for the love of everything good tell me you're no contact?"
"I'm no contact."
"Good. They don't deserve to be anywhere near you. If it weren't for the fact that I don't want to hurt you, I'd fly up there and kill them myself." Simon's voice had an edge to it, something possessive and angry that sent a flash of heat radiating through Johnny's belly and causing it to pool in his groin.
