Heteropoda maxima [Giant Huntsman Spider]

The giant huntsman spider is the largest member of the Sparassidae family, boasting a 30 centimeter (12 inch) leg-span, and 4.6 centimeter (1.8 inches) body-length. The largest known member of the Sparassidae known prior to the discovery of H. maxima was the Australian Beregama aurea (L. Koch, 1875) with a body length of about 4 centimeters. (Since the discovery of H. maxima, Sparassidae species larger than B. aurea has been discovered, one of them is considered to be the largest in the Middle East).

Micrommata virescens [Green Huntsman Spider]

The green huntsman spider (Micrommata virescens) is a spider with a palearctic distribution, of the huntsman spider (Sparassidae) family. It does not build a web, and hunts insects in green vegetation, where it is well camouflaged. The green coloration is due to the bilin micromatabilin and its conjugates in haemolymph, interstitial tissues and the yolk of oocytes.

Heteropoda venatoria, commonly called the brown huntsman spider or laya, is found in many tropical and subtropical parts of the world, including Asia, some Mascarene and Caribbean islands, the southeastern US, and (especially) Australia. In Hawaii, where it was introduced, it is known as the cane spider. They are fairly large, some having a leg span of approximately five inches (13 centimetres). Although they are rather fearsome in appearance, they are very easily alarmed by the approach of humans and will very rapidly flee.

Cerbalus aravaensis is a huntsman spider found in the southern Arava Valley of Israel and Jordan. The species was first described by Gorshom Levy of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2007, though news agencies later reported it in 2010 as a new discovery (with a slightly different spelling) by a team of biologists from the University of Haifa. The spider has a leg span of 14 centimetres (5.5 in), making it the largest member of the Sparassidae family in the Middle East. Males have a body length of 18.5–24.0 millimetres (0.73–0.94 in), while females' body length is 22.0–26.5 millimetres (0.87–1.04 in).

Latrodectus geometricus [Brown Widow]

Like all Latrodectus species, L. geometricus has a neurotoxic venom that, drop for drop, is as toxic as the black widow's. However, brown widow bites are usually not very dangerous; usually much less dangerous than the black widow's. Brown widow venom is twice as potent as black widow venom, but is usually confined to the bite area and surrounding tissue, as opposed to the black widow's. Mere toxicity of the venom is not the only factor in dangerousness. Brown widow bites are minor compared to black widow bites, because they cannot deliver the same amount of venom as the black widow.

Lasiodora parahybana Underside

The Brazilian Salmon Pink Bird-eating Tarantula (Lasiodora parahybana) is a relatively large spider originating from northeastern Brazil, hence its common name. This spider typically grows to a leg span of 20 cm (8 in), although occasionally exceptional specimens can reach leg spans of 25 cm (10 in, with 11.5 inch specimens recorded). Large females can weigh upwards of 100 grams. This tarantula is one of the largest in the world, often cited as the second or third largest (after the Theraphosa blondi). In the wild the Brazilian salmon pink tarantula has even been known to prey on some small snakes.
