TransFem Jax coming out headcanon

So I've seen a lot of really cute comics and fics where Jax comes out as trans to the other characters and they're all super sweet and accepting and Jax cries because "Oh my god, I never thought anyone would accept me", and while I love them, I just can't help but think it would go more like;

Jax: "Look, I know you all hate me, and I hate all of you losers too, but I jut have to let you all know that I'm... Trans. Fem. I- I'm a woman."

*brief moment of silence*

Zooble: "Is this a prank like when you took all the magnets out of my parts when I was sleeping and I fell apart in the middle of an adventure?"

Jax, slightly flabbergasted: "Wha- No-"

Gangle: "Is this a prank like when you used me to floss Bubble's teeth?"

Jax, getting pissed: "Oh for fucks sake- NO."

My TADC au (Character lore, part one)

Here's some more in-depth character lore for my Escaping The Digital Circus AU. (Some stuff is taken from canon, and some characters have a lot more development than others. Jax and Ragatha are the main characters in my AU.)

(Trigger warnings for mentions of familial abuse and transphobia.)

Pomni (She/They) Real name: Christine Kim How they entered the circus: Was exploring an old tech store for a video where she found a very old headset and game. She put them on, intending to just joke around for the camera a little bit, but as soon as it touched her head, she was sucked into the game and passed out.

Pre-Circus lore: 25 years old, born in Vietnam, living in California. Works as an accountant at a supermarket chain but is studying computer science. Has a YouTube channel with eight subscribers (Four of them are her IRL friends and one is her mum.)

Ragatha (She/her) Real name: Penelope Sinclair (She prefers Penny, though.) How they entered the circus: C&A thought that they had managed to fix the program and were offering money to people willing to test the software. Ragatha, needing the money, signed herself up. Obviously, C&A had not managed to fix the game

Pre-Circus lore: 28 years old, born, raised, and living in Idaho. Part of an 'old money' family who made their money from their mining company. Talented horse rider, mostly dressage but some racing. Also a skilled softball player and dancer. Despite the family's polished public appearances, her mother, Alice, is overbearing and manipulative. Ragatha is secretly saving up from her real estate job to move away. She's skilled at her job thanks to her charming and friendly demeanor, but will frequently tell her mother that she hasn't made any sales after transferring the money she made into her private bank account. This will often lead to more berating, but she tells herself that it'll all be worth it once she gets away from it all.

Jax (Uses he/him, wants to use she/her.) Real name: Daisy Campana (Deadname; Xavier Espinoza.) How they entered the circus: After a massive argument with their mother, Jax left home. Looking for money, they started going to thrift stores to find things to sell, eventually finding a VR headset and box of games. They decided to test the games out before selling them, one of them unfortunately being The Amazing Digital Circus.

Pre-Circus lore: 22 years old, born in Washington, moved to Utah in their teens, currently living in Nevada. When their parents divorced when they were fifteen, their mother, Isabelle, picked them up, moved to Utah, and converted to Mormonism (I swear I came up with this before Ribbit was revealed to be from a Mormon family). When they were nineteen, they finally admitted to themself that they were a trans woman, though they were very private about it and ultimately ended up leaning into toxic-masculinity, both to throw people off their metaphorical 'scent' and to see if it would somehow switch them back to being a cis man. On the day before leaving home, Jax and their mother got into an argument, a very regular occurrence for them. Isabelle eventually turned to one of her usual jabs; "Why can't you man up and take accountability?" and in a moment of weakness, Jax yelled back "Because I'm not a fucking man!" Isabelle processed for a moment, before jumping to say "Why would you say that? Yes you are, where is this coming from? You know that you're a man, you always will be." Mistaking her child's silence in response to her screaming for remorse, she hugged them, saying they would always be her son. Jax just shoved her away and ran, barely stopping to grab his wallet and phone.

My TADC au (Character lore, part 2)

(Trigger warnings for mentions of gender dysphoria and suicide)

Zooble (Any/ all) Real name: Zara Lutz (Deadname; Jacklyn Lutz.) How they ended up in the circus: As a lover of vintage goods, they spent a lot of time on Ebay. They found a cheap VR headset and bought it. When it arrived, they were pleasantly surprised to learn that a game card had been thrown into the box as a freebie. You can probably guess what the game was.

Pre-Circus life: 22 years old. Born and raised in New York, living in Colorado. Born missing their left leg. Despite this, they never really felt ashamed of it thanks to supportive parents (Teresa and Richard) and younger siblings (Maria and Toby) who still bothered them the normal amount that little siblings do. They have a prosthetic leg that they’ve decorated with stickers. They came out as agender at the age of sixteen, to which they received a hug from Teresa and Richard happily declaring “Hell yeah, collected the full set” in regards to now having a female, male, and genderless child. Their siblings just changed any gendered insults they used. They were a good student (Just don’t ask about their grades in Math class) and moved to Colorado to attend college for two years, majoring in visual arts with a minor in psychology. They went on to work as a tattoo artist, then a bartender. After saving for a few years and taking out a loan, they and a few of their friends bought a fixer- upper which they converted to a bar and tattoo studio which quickly became a hot spot for queer and trans people, the disabled, POC, and anyone else who ever felt ostracised. Despite their success, they still felt somewhat incomplete. They were contemplating top surgery a lot, never quite deciding if it was ‘worth it’ since they alternated between wearing and not wearing binders. Some days they hated their female anatomy, some days they liked it, and some days they were indifferent. Because of their indecisiveness about how they viewed themself, sometimes they got in their own head about ‘not being trans enough.’ They never really brought it up with their friends or family, and if asked if they were planning on getting gender affirming surgeries, they’d just say ‘Dunno, probably.’

Gangle (She/They) Real name: Naima Ansari How they ended up in the circus: After an attempt on her own life, she fell into a coma. Her brain activity was incredibly low, so out of desperation, her parents (Hannah and Ali) accepted an offer from C&A to test out the headset on her with the promise that it would keep her brain and heart working.

Pre-Circus life: 25 years old. Born, raised, and living in Kansas. Growing up, she was shy and sensitive, quick to tears when voices were raised at them, even over something small. She was picked on a lot for her 'oversensitivity' and they carried insecurities over it into their adulthood. In their tweens, they started watching anime and reading mangas. The fictional worlds would take her away from her struggles for a few hours, and she clung onto them. After a while, she taught herself to draw and started drawing fanart (Probably because there wasn't enough fanart of her OTPs) and then came up with her own OCs. She attended community college to study graphic design and started making their own manga inspired web comic, but after posting a few pages online and getting some negative feedback, she quickly deleted it out of fear and decided to abandon the project and just focus on her studies. She ended up just working at a fast food restaurant, eventually working their way up to shift manager. While the job got them a pay raise, it also started taking up more time and energy, not to mention putting her in the way of more conflicts that she didn't really want to be a part of. Due to the stress building, and her job taking up so much of her time that she couldn't really make art to decompress, she fell into a depression. She eventually tried to take her own life by running into traffic.

Kinger (He/him) Real name: Bishop Best How they ended up in the circus: Was a C&A employee who worked on developing The Digital Circus. When he and the other employees working on the game finished it, they put headsets on to play the game as a celebration.

Pre-Circus life: 44 years old. Born and raised in Florida, living in Idaho. Worked at The University of Florida as a professor teaching computer science. This was where he met his wife, an agricultural entomology teacher named Destiny Broussard. The two ran a blog about bugs and insects, Destiny writing the articles and Kinger doing the coding and web design for it since he was a lot more tech savvy. They dated for only three years before getting married. They have an eight year old daughter named Abby, and were expecting their second child soon. When Kinger was forty-two, he was offered a job by C&A. With Destiny's encouragement, their family packed up and moved to Idaho where the C&A offices were. Kinger was introduced to a team of people making a VR game that utilized artificial intelligence, and joined their crew in working on it. After two years of trial and error, the company decided that the game was ready to be published. The team that had made the game had a small celebration, Kinger inviting Destiny since she'd given them ideas for the game's content. They decided to all put on headsets and log onto the game to play it together. It didn't go well.

My TADC au

So, I've been mentally mapping out a 'got out of the circus' fanfic for a solid year, and since it's now been revealed that they aren't stuck there in the first place I'm sorta just like...

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

So, I'm relabeling it as an AU where it wasn't a brain scan, they were actually trapped in the circus, and when Caine was deleted, the whole circus was deleted and they were released.

And now I'm gonna info dump about it.

So, the creation of the circus is very much the same as it was in the show. Kinger, Scratch, and the rest of their team created the ai. But, it was actually intended to be a video game in this AU.

To celebrate the completion of the game, the crew decided to all go into the game together, and Kinger invited Queenie to come along since she'd given him a lot of ideas for it (Caine's fondness for bees was her suggestion.)

Their minds became merged with the game. When C&A employees attempted to remove the headsets, their heartrates and brain activity skyrocketed and they started experiencing seizures. The headsets were now a part of the users, and removing them was essentially the same as switching off life support.

The headsets were left in place, C&A covered it up, and the game designers were kept in a makeshift lab in the C&A building.

The time spent in the circus and time passing in the real world are very different. Here's how long everyone's been in there for;

Kinger: Eight months Ragatha: Six months Jax: Two months Gangle: Three weeks Zooble: Two weeks Pomni: Fourteen hours

Abstraction releases you from the game, but there's no way for the abstracted people to tell the folks in the game to just let themselves go crazy.

-on posts that CLEARLY ship Jax and/or Pomni with other characters, ESPECIALLY when the ships in the posts are rarepairs without many posts in the first place (Jax/Zooble, Pomni/Ribbit, ect)

"You hate Valentino but love Alastor"

Gonna make this as simple as possible. Also, I'm mainly gonna be referencing season one since that was when this argument was the most popular.

So, I saw this YouTube short (Yes yes, I'm very cringe, I also write self insert X Canon hazbin hotel fanfictions and post them on wattpad) that basically said that Hazbin Hotel fans hate Valentino's abuse of Angel Dust but 'like' Alastor's abuse of Husk.

Yeah, no.

The whole "You hate Val because he's abusive but you still love Alastor" argument is one I've always hated. So, I'm gonna try and explain why so many folks hate Val and love Al.

So, when Alastor was first introduced in the Hazbin Hotel pilot, he made jokes, sang a song, and took down what was then a villain. He also made threats and made it VERY clear that he wasn't a good person. Right off the bat he's established as funny and charismatic as well as villainous.

Whereas when Val was first introduced in the Addict music video, he was shown physically abusing and drugging Angel. On his first appearance in the canon show, he was shown to be violent and quick to anger. He threatened to kill a guy's entire family just because Angel (Who he also called an ungrateful whore) flirted with him. Were there some comedic moments with him in this scene? Yes. But overall, his first two appearances were used only to establish him as an abusive individual.

Alastor also has a lot more screentime than Valentino, screentime used in a variety of ways. He's shown to be violent, manipulative, and untrustworthy, but he's also shown to be a funny, helpful, charming, smart, and complex character who also has -what many consider to be- genuinely good relationships with characters like Mimzy and Niffty.

Valentino doesn't have a lot of screentime in comparison, especially in season one, and most of it is dedicated entirely to showing him abusing Angel Dust and many other demons. I can only think of one episode in season one where he appeared and didn't abuse Angel Dust at all, and that's the finale, where he only had about two minutes of screentime and was still a part of the Vees planning to take over hell ( Quote- "The future of Hell belongs to the Vees.")

Valentino and Alastor also have very different 'brands' of abuse and violence. Alastor is a cannibal and murderer, both in his life and death. In comparison, Valentino is an abusive partner and boss, a rapist, and most likely a murderer but since we haven't technically seen him kill anyone, I'll just stick to the other shit.

Rape is often considered the worst crime a person can commit, even worse than murder. The general consensus is that if someone's killed, at least it's over, but if someone's raped and left alive, they have to live with that trauma. I personally agree with this but this isn't the Tumblr post for debating on whether murder or rape is more morally upright.

Not to mention, Alastor's only been shown killing background characters, IE, characters we haven't formed an attachment to. Whereas Valentino physically, mentally, and sexually abuses Angel Dust, a main character that most fans love, thus Val's actions seem like a bigger deal, not to mention that we see Val's abuse of Angel in detail whereas Alastor's murders are quick and careless without a ton of focus on them.

There's honestly more could say, but nobody cares and this has already been sitting in my drafts for a while and I'm trying to clean up my account.
