[[ I'm b l e e d i n g out So if the last thing that I do Is bring you
[[down]] I'll bleed out for you So I bare my skin And I count my sins And I close my eyes And I take it in I'm bleeding o u t
I'm bleeding out for you, for y o u. ]]
The following was a voice message translated from Spanish to English. It was from Araminta’s mother.
‘’MINTY? Oh honey, how long it's been since we last talked! I hope you're doing well darling. Everyone misses you, the whole family. But yes, yes, I just wanted to know if you got my gifts! We haven't spoken since you came here last...when Esai...but yes, I had to get all of those presents for my princess. Did you see the photos of you Ara? Oh you looked gorgeous! I still see my winner when I look at those, and yes I printed more for the family album and for your wall. Hmm, I suppose if I had to change a few things, maybe the way we did your make-up...and those dresses seemed a little tight, maybe we need to get you bigger size next time. I just wish you came home soon for the next time! If only Esai was still doing those pageants...ah, oh well. When will you come here, sweetie? It seems so empty without you here. It's not fair, I need my daughter back. Who else will win for me? Ara? Minty? Oh yes, voice message. Well, call back as soon as you can. We miss you...I love you. Pick up the phone soon.’’
Araminta had picked up the phone...
She had been listening to every single word this entire time...
And not only had the phone slipped out from her hand helplessly, but the tsunami in her eyes had slipped out and had spread its disaster down her cheeks, her arms, to the floor. Her ability to keep a smile painted onto her lips, just like how her mother would keep touching up her lipstick of whatever shade that would compliment her skin yet somehow turned out to the wrong colour in the end, was proving to become too much of a struggle to hold. It was as if she was Atlas, with the whole world on her shoulders. And it was only now she had begun to understand how excruciatingly difficult and agonising it must have been for the Titan to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders as a punishment. What she had done to deserve such a task, she didn’t know. But what she did know was that it was even harder to complete it when you were slipping away from reality, slipping away from your only chances of happiness...
When r e d drops were slipping out from your w r i s t s.
How could you hold the whole world when you couldn’t even hold the phone because your wrists were too weak from bleeding out?
She just laid there, her eyes a kaleidoscope of tears, her arms running a river of red. The words of her mother were haunting her ears, making her feel worthless because all she clearly cared about was perfection, and that was something Ara felt like she couldn’t give. Yet it was k i l l i n g her because she loved her mother, but not once did the woman realise how much emotional pain she was bringing to her own daughter. So much so it would influence her...to take the sharp grin of the razor and drag it down her skin, taming yet freeing her inner red. It had suddenly become harder for her eyes to keep focus on the ceiling, and all she could hear was the end of the voice message. A sharp, continuous ring that had given her a rope to hang onto, a line to save her from the mess she was about to fall into.
But she didn’t hold onto it.
The ringing had died after a seconds had passed, and the only thing that was thrown into the air was to save her was silence.
But was use was silence in trying to save you...when that was what you’ve been using to hide your troubles behind all of this time?
@araxleon: when you relate to one song so much
aiden-oreilly:
It wasn’t until a few seconds later when the blond finally noticed that he might have startled the daughter of Hephaestus. “Hey, just little old me.” Not that he was little in the slightest, but Aiden often joked around about his height around his shorter friends; Ara being one of them. “You sure?” He asked, making his way over to hop onto the spot she’d left for his beside her. “Cause y’know, the camp giraffe is here to listen.” Despite the teasing tone in his voice, the sentiment was sincere. Aiden had grown comfortable around the brunette over time, and the fact that she was around the cabin rather often due to being close friends with Alex no doubt had to do with this. “Hey, I’m magic. We went over this, damn Ara.” He grinned, leaning back on the bed and tossing the silver package up towards her. “Nah, I got an extra box when I picked up some for Henna that last time Ave and I went with Lucy to see her mom. But, I’ll take the compliment.” The son of Apollo shrugged, shifting slightly so that he was sitting up. “For real though, you and Astrid should reconsider that secret passage for me. Four years and I’m still clueless about that door, y’know.”
[[ ’‘LITTLE?’‘ Aiden using that word to describe himself was very humorous to her, considering how he was easily over 6ft and significantly taller than her and most of the other girls here at camp. He and her other taller male friends would usually joke around with her and the height difference they would have, but she would usually get defensive about it. Sometimes in a jokey way, sometimes for real. But Ara didn’t have to be tall to be intimidating, for sure. When he offered to listen, using the silly name, the Daughter of Hephaestus giggled and shook her head slightly, pulling his cheek like she usually did. ‘’Awww, the camp giraffe is so sweet!’’ Teasing him, she pulled his cheek harder and then let go, chuckling and then quickly planted a kiss on it. ‘‘See? I can heal too.’’ Giving him a quick wink, Ara started laughing and shook her head again, this time at herself. Running a hand through her hair, she had gotten up and placed the photo back on her dresser, turning around to lean against it and then folded her arms. ‘’I’m good, thank you. And what about the camp giraffe?’’ Although it wasn’t true, the 17 year-old didn’t like placing her problems upon other people, and even if the two friends were close, she still found it hard to talk about such things. Even with the people she loved most.
[[Because when she tried to with the people she had loved most, they always gave her more pain than her problems had caused her...]]
Walking back over to her bed and sitting down next to him once again, caught the packet of poptarts and whispered a ‘‘thank you’‘, then had opened the packet and handed him one, and then one for herself. After biting into the delicious new treat, savouring every crumb, Ara smirked. ‘‘Well, constructing that secret passage for you will require a lot of materials...and a lot of poptarts...’‘ ]]

When Astrid’s sibling tried to pull off like she didn’t have anything to do with the scheme it made her laugh some more. She looked at the boy she had pranked and gave him a pityful look. “I would say I’m sorry, but then I would be lying.” As she was dragged away by Ara she just kept on smiling, she could pull off pranks like this all day long. She raised her eyebrow when her sister asked for her to come up with something for her to do and looked around the camp for an idea. Suddenly she saw a couple of campers by the lake and nudged her with an elbow. “Okay, see those guys over by the lake there? I dare you to push them in.”
[[ WHEN Astrid had given the boy a pitiful look, accompanied with her sassy comeback, Araminta couldn’t help but laugh and, when both sisters away from the camper’s sight, she smirked at the younger Hephaestus daughter. ‘‘See? This is why we’re sisters.’‘ As Ara had waited for her dare, she wondered if Astrid was going to go big or make it even better by giving her something simple, so they could go up in stages. It was always better that way. She didn’t disappoint with her dare; there were three shirtless guys sat by the lake, kicking their feet about in the water and probably getting a tan. Well, she didn’t mean to be rude and interrupt their fun...oh, that wasn’t fooling anyone! Without even trying to sneak up on them, Ara walked up to the three boys and smiled. ‘‘Hey boys, let me show you how they do it in Puerto Rico.’‘ And with a wink, she pushed all three of them into the lake at once, running away before they could get out and catch her. She was giggling to herself the whole way through, still laughing when she reached her sister. ]]
“Nope…. Unless it’s invisible, I haven’t seen one in mine.”
[[ SHE raised both her eyebrows. ‘’Really? That’s not cool.’’ Giving Mason a warm smile, Ara held out her coffee. ‘’Take it. I can always get some more. In the mean time...I could install a coffee machine in your cabin, if you’d like?’’ ]]
isaacrexd:
“What are you doing in here?”
[[ ‘‘IT’S nice to see you too, Isaac.’‘ She stepped out of the way, gesturing towards the trolley stacked with swords. ‘‘You know, just went ahead and sharpened all the swords, and now I’m going to put them back.’‘ Ara dragged the trolley to the other side of the room, starting to hang them on the hooks they belonged to. ‘‘You?’’‘ She asked, looking back. ]]
And I will swim through this mess I've made, where I can pray for a tidal wave. So you can watch my body fade into the horizon the oceans have me now.
