finally finished this residential area now that LBPR is updated, along with adding in the first land border in the form of a wall between the nether portal/mountain/tree thingy and the mountain with the waterfall. I'll add in a few more houses around the wall and then its gonna be underground work for a bit and I dig into waterfall mountain and build a nice looking mine.
Here's what I spent my morning doing... like, a good five hours... It's finnnneeee
This minecraft short comic called "A strange Coast" made by Ian Flynn I believe, I found in a book from my library I work has to be one of the most beautiful and respectful takes on the game.
It understands minecradf so perfectly and doesn't treat it as childishly as the other stories in it did.
And all that within 10 pages and no word spoken.

Been playing Vault Hunters and loving it, you haven’t seen any pictures from before this point because I didn’t have a roof for a VERY long time. Theres a villager trading hall and breeding pit in the basement but its not exactly decorated or easy to photograph.

Oh its worth mentioning there won't be any updates to Ara Infinitus. I lost the hard drive it was on and it's gone forever. Just the screenshots on this blog and a vod or 2 on twitch remain. I might try to build another kingdom at some point though, for now just hardcore playthroughs.
Building your first house :)
Howdy! Usually I just post pictures of my completed houses from hardcore, but this time around I figured I’d do a showcase of the entire building process! Lets get started!
First up, We clear out a nice area and plot out the corners and walls with fences and logs. Then build the logs up, generally about an extra 4 high, i decided to strip the Birch i was using.
Next we decide on our wall material! I love dark oak and am building right next to a forest of the stuff, so that’ll be my walls. fun fact! maybe 95% of my “walls” Are actually stairs! This is also where I plan all the doorways. you can see them outlined by dark oak logs.
Then we start capping the house! If you don’t know what “Capping” means, I’m pretty sure the teens these days are using it as slang for lying. It’s also slang to shoot a guy. I use uncircumsized birch for over the walls and keep the doors to their dark oak. Ignore any staircases, they wont stick around.
After the capping we pick our roof material! You may notice a considerable difference in my level and armor. That is due to my dumbass deciding on deepslate and brick for the roof. you find a lot of diamonds when you are idly mining materials for your roof.
Now for this house I’m throwing like 3 different kinds of roof together, and thats gonna give me a couple little quote unfucking quote problem areas. Listen to me. This is not a problem. Like 40% of the sexy texturing outside this house will be thanks to those little gaps left by differing roof areas.
Next we fill those gaps in!
And with the gaps all filled, the house is technically complete! There’s still a ton of prettying up I’ll come touch up later, along with the entire interior! Any exterior changes to this house I’ll add as a reblog to this post. Hope you find my extravagant build process for hardcore to be both disturbing and ballsy! Love you guys see you next time!
Updates! New fireplace & Chimney combo make the largest flat wall pop a lil more! Also it started raining as I went to take my screenshots so thats a you problem now.
Also took my first pass through the interior! sectioned off the rooms and added a, uh, second floor? I think? Maybe more accurately just some catwalks? Either way I think it looks fun and it lets me light up the middle sections of some of the rooms with lanterns.
