The Xianle quartet in the begining of TGCF is literally so funny to me as a concept.

Because it's literally these 3 guys who have disguised themselves from this 1 guy to go hang out with him. 2 of them know who each other is and also immediately recognised who the third guy is but don't have any proof to back it up. And the third guy also knows exactly who they are but he doesn't care and doesn't even wanna interact with them because he got beef with them.

Meanwhile the 1 guy they are disguising themselves from actually recognised them on sight because they absolutely suck at disguising themselves, but they're trying so hard and he doesn't want them to feel bad and they're also hanging out now so that's fun, he doesn't wanna ruin that.

God! I love the Xianle quartet! They are sooo hilarious!

Mu Qing and Feng Xin sucked at hiding who they were! Like the minute they were with Xie Lian, they immediately acted like themselves!😂😂

Like literally fighting each other, Mu Qing rolling his eyes, literally saying the same things they said in the past, and being assholes to each other (Feng Xin and Mu Qing)! Also, I love you, Feng Xin, but you suck at disguise names! Like Nan Feng, seriously?! Like at least Mu Qing was somewhat better at naming himself with Fu Yao!😂😂

Then they were surprised when Xie Lian the entire time knew who they were! Like none of you were subtle about who you are! Especially with how overprotective they were around Xie Lian and how they just immediately went back their past dynamics before everything went wrong. Just say you both miss Xie Lian and want Xie Lian safe, you dorks!😂😂

Then, with Hua Cheng, he wasn't even hiding that he is the Ghost King!😂😂

Xie Lian figured it out pretty quickly and then was just chill with it for the rest of the novel.

Then add on that Mu Qing, Feng Xin, and Hua Cheng all know who each other are under the disguises! And due to their past beefs with each other, they don't want to be around each other! Like they are all ridiculous!😂😂

Man, I love the Xianle quartet! They are all comedy gold! 😂😂😂😂

I love designing characters so much and I wanted to make them moredistinct from each other~

Friendly reminder that it's okay to be a Swiftie and criticize Taylor. Celebrities are not gods, nor are they perfect. I have been her fan for more than a decade but she deserves to be called out on issues that concern the rest of the population. Advocating climate change while having the highest CO2 emissions for a celebrity in a year should not sit well with us. From a business standpoint, I can understand that she may charter her private jets for practical reasons but not for ethical ones. I agree that her team could have handled things better and that she, herself, could have made better choices.

She is not the biggest problem to climate change - Big corps are. But she is contributing to a system that destroys a planet when she is in a position to make more eco friendly choices (a privilege that most of the common folk do not get to have).

I am making this post as her fan. Blind loyalty should not be the case here but we, Swifties, should remind her that there are people who listen to her words and follow her actions. Despite us not having private jets or multimillion dollar homes or a celebrity lifestyle in general, it's important for Taylor to know that she sets an example on making better choices for the environment.

Respectfully, I disagree on some aspects. While you can maybe criticize her on lending out her jet to other celebrities, one look at the supposedly accurate report will show that her flights are all across states and countries. Getting mad at her for using a private jet ignores the amount of harassment celebrities like her face on commerical flights.

I think there is a lot of nuance when it comes to getting mad at famous people for using private transportation because their safety is a serious issue on commercial flights. I do think it is absolutely acceptable to critique celebrities for taking 7 minute flights etc but I do think Taylor Swift is being unfairly scrutinized and assumed to be like Kylie Jenner when it's not similar at all.

I think critiquing celebrities for wanting private transportation while ignoring how fucking despicable celebrity stan culture is feels a little like victim-blaming/jealousy/resentment.

I also don't know a good solution to celebrities having to take out of state trips that would be better than private transportation, that would also be as efficient as jets are. Yall also forget how strict music labels are and how celebrities often have no say in how often they have to travel etc.

Hi! Thank you for this. I do want to correct that I am not mad at her for using private jets but I do express great disappointment. This mostly stems from her position of being able to have the choice to make more eco-friendly decisions.

I acknowledge that her status as a celebrity comes with a price especially with regard to her privacy and security. I understand her preference for using a private jet from this standpoint. However, she owns two private jets. From that perspective, I do not see the use for one more especially from someone who has spoken about climate change before.

Additionally, her PR team's response on this matter did not focus on her use of the private jet for security and privacy but more on how she has loaned out her jets to others and not solely because of her use.

Yes, jets are efficient but they are also very costly with its maintenance. You have also mentioned how strict music labels can be when it comes to travel but considering that she wasn't on tour at that time all the while owning two private jets, her carbon footprint is still unjustifiable.

As for alternatives, I am unaware if whether their choices are expansive or limited given their status as celebrities but it is a known fact that they do have the money and resources to choose more eco-friendly means. I'm not rich enough to know this but I feel like for the shorter flights, celebs could have often taken cars instead but chose convenience over the environment. The desire for convenience is relatable, but words coming from a climate change advocate with high carbon emissions feel empty now.

To reiterate, I am not singling out Taylor. This is for all celebrities who deserve accountability. Her carbon emissions do not cancel out all the good she has done for others nor does it make her an evil person.

I'm still her fan but I also do implore that she does better in this regard.

he’s one of my favorite historical figures and ive read a lot on him including the biography Scanty Particulars by Rachel Holmes. a lot of the details of his life are difficult to figure out, partly cause he was very private and partly cause he had so many rumors surrounding him. here are some of my fave facts about him:

-he was very concerned with protecting poor people, women and people of color, aka all the people most of upper class british society at the time cared the least about. he worked to reform prisons and hospitals in south africa at risk to his own career, and also improved the conditions under which poor enlisted british soldiers and their families lived

-he was kind of a known hothead. he was rumored to have fought at least one duel (probably not true though). florence nightingale hated him even though they had similar ideas about medicine because they had such a clash of personalities in the brief time they worked together

-he was a vegetarian and took a goat with him on sea voyages so he could always have fresh milk

-even though he had an abrasive personality and made a lot of enemies, his patients, especially the women, really loved him because they felt like he knew what he was doing and actually cared about their health

-he died poor because the british army ripped him off >:/

edit i almost forgot the best thing. he didn’t just have one poodle named psyche. he had a bunch. when one died he would get a new poodle and name that one psyche too
