Cosplay testing, part ? of ?
Mermay 2025 Seafolk AU leviathan Draal the Deadly!
So Draal’s design is a little more niche in his inspiration, he is actually inspired by a cephalaspis. I needed to find a marine creature that had some form of armour plating, so I could play a bit on the horns. Since in Draal’s case they are one of his more defining features, as well as his spikes, and this fit. The rest I kinda played with to create his unique species.
Just like his troll counterpart Draal is the most formidable warrior of Sea Market, taking after his father in becoming the next Leviathan hunter. That is until the amulet ends up in the hands of a human, and Draal’s destiny takes a different and in many ways a more liberating path.
Forming unlikely friendships that bring him all the honour and fulfilment he had ever wanted.
TOA Mermay Au 2025, my Seafolk, loveable giant Leviathan Aaarrrgghh!!!
Ok, so if wasn’t obvious, Aaarrrgghh is inspired by a Archelon, a giant sea turtle. Originally I had him as a type of blue whale, but I did some further exploration and this just fit too well.
Parts of his design are also taken from other reptiles, such as a snapping turtle for his spikes and horns.
Also disclaimer, Aaarrrgghh is actually bigger than his troll self in this Au, due to deep sea gigantism. But due to time and magic his flippers are powerful enough to support himself on land just like Blinky’s.

I don't know what I was thinking when I did it😆
It's Them, your Honor.
Also sksksk compare that to my very first drawing of them 😭
Finished rewatching Trollhunters and of course I'm not okay.
i'll forever miss you Anton Yelchin, our trollhunter. Much love goes out to him and everyone on this show. longtime followers will remember how much I adore this series. 🖤
bonus jliare cause yes:
I finally made Claire!!
I used some screencaps from the ToA wiki!
I couldn’t add the blue streak in her hair without her looking uncanny, to say the least, so just bear with me and imagine it’s her pre-dyed hair era.
I commissioned the supremely lovely and talented @sopafa for this little Jlaire comic of Claire taking care of Jim while he's sick. I got a bonus art too!!!!!!! Sharp eyes will spot Barbara's painting of Jim's dad in the background 🥹💙💙💙💙
Updating! We’re doing great, guys! We’re getting closer to 1,000! Keep it up!!
Rewritten ending for Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans
I commissioned the fabulous @theeio for this stunning B&W art of Jim & Claire on honeymoon in Italy! Claire has some surprises in store for Jim (they are spending some time in Pontedera... see if you can figure it out 😉).
Heres a troll tutorial if anyone needs it
Im entirley aware of my bad writing and such dont mind me
I miss ToA but in a weird way. If I’m entirely honest, it was never about the characters for me. I personally didn’t click with Jim much. I think I may have watched it for Claire, actually, hoping she would be cool?
But apart from that, it was the writing and the visuals. It was a story well told. It was compelling in its aesthetic, in its lore, in its richness. It had the most creative side characters and plots I’ve seen in a long time.
Perhaps it’s also because it had good villains. And it got better and better towards the end, with Angor, Merlin, Morgana, Douxie and…Archie.
The tension between the multiple worlds was palpable. I hated when they clashed and I hated when the troll world didn’t turn out to be a beautiful, mystical, escapist kind of world, but a rather trashy, war-ridden one. On the other hand, Jim’s and the changelings’ double lives were so realistic and funny. Having so many characters interact within one world was exciting too.
Most of all, I watched ToA for Daylight. Nothing compares to that sword. And it’s interesting, because…technically, Daylight wasn’t a character. But it was. It was so much. It was hope, it was protection, it was versatility. It was a companion that had a “soul”, if you will. It was pure.
Aight, loves, I’m only running on four hours of sleep here, but it’s time to Blether (bitterly)
