I've been thinking about lily pads a lot lately

Tangled au where 12/13 year old Rapunzel gets mad at Mother Gothel and in a fit of teen rebellion cuts her hair and that kills her, so the now orphan Rapunzel leaves the tower and stumbles into the Snuggly Ducking and is effectively adopted by the thugs. She works there as a barmaid and every year a couple of them take her to the outskirts on the kingdom to see the lanterns.

She isn’t found out to be the lost princess until

A) she goes into the kingdom to bail out one of regulars

Or B) after stealing the crown, Eugene, heads to the pub to keep low only to have a heart attack bc wtf is that the queen???

#this spawned a thoughts in my brain wherein Flynn gets caught &sentenced to death as in canon #and rapunzel decides to go big (and unknowingly) go home and shows up to save him by pulling the Anastasia Con 'i'm the lost princess!' #and as soon as she has secured his release is like OKAY HOW DO WE DO THIS #and he's like do what???? the lost princess con is a game! no one wants the risk of actually trying it! #and didn't you say it would be mean to do that to the king and queen?? #'that was before they tried to have you killed though? so lets figure it out fast! Idea about Jim meeting his troll half for the first time in the dark realm and gaining a whole other side of himself.

Listened to Jim transforms by Tim Davies the whole way through finishing this and I’ve got chills.

This sounds like an edgy post but it's just musings / sorting through my thoughts I promise

When I tell other people I want to go back to being a child they always are like 'but you're an adult now you have to make your own choices'. Well I don't mean take away my driver's license Janet I meant protect my emotions. You're not supposed to do my fun stuff for me or forbid me from trying out the potentially dangerous parts or take away my human rights or my autonomy as an individual you're supposed to look after me while I encounter the scary bit. Childhood doesn't mean I was some sort of brain-deficient goo, exempt from being able to think or of being allowed choices. I ALWAYS had to make my own choices. You just didn't make the space safe for me to do so as a kid, in other words you did not help me define verbally what's what, and now I don't know what's safe and what isn't and the anxiety is firing for EVERYTHING because I now have to do complex, consequential adult tasks while legally liable for my own mistakes with the fear levels of a little guy who has never seen the water fountain going off and being told that's normal

I completely forgot I drew this. I had a concept of what trolls would be like if they were more like the dragons from httyd and more animalistic.

I had this whole plot line set during medieval times, with Toby as the hiccup of the story and Jim being his best friend who was set to be the next leading warrior of his tribe after his fathers death. However Jim mysteriously disappeared one day. Toby goes in searching for him and ends up finding this strange troll creature, which is forbidden in the kingdom. That had taken a liking to him.

Toby helps the troll escape the kingdom in search for a troll heard to take care of him and learns how trolls aren’t all that bad, and of a mysterious plot involving an evil version of Merlin… anyways heres a sketch of the troll family!

Also a ruff sketch of both kanjigar and Draal, along side Imprisoned newly transformed Jim with Daya.
