∙∙ City Living Retextures (Sims 4) ∙∙

A few important notes:

These textures were originally put together for personal use, as I needed the city to look dark and desolated (and kind of burned down/destroyed). However, I received many questions as to whether I will be sharing these texture edits some day. I was planning to do so at some point, after I let a few people play-test it in their game.

The textures are FAR from perfect, it was only intended for personal use after all, so I did not resize any textures nor did I alter their original prints.

You can ofc use the replacements to search the instance numbers in the Client builds to make your own retextures ♥

Keep in mind since some textures are still in their original size (low quality) you may experience splotchy and washed out textures. If you’re annoyed by this, please don’t bother downloading this replacement.

Keep in mind that not every texture in the city is replaced, I left the Base-game textures alone, because it will conflict with K-Hippies’ base-game replacements otherwise ♥

Some plants and trees are still in their original state since these are included in Glimmerbrook’s replacement package.

The best looking district in this case is the Spice Market.

Lastly, keep in mind that the lighting of the neighborhoods in my game have been altered, hence it looks a lot darker than the original world.

The set consists of a few packages you’re required to download in order to make the city look the way I set it up~

how I edit my sims ts3/ts4 screenshots (day-time edition)

A helpful? guide for editing screenshots during the day (this is not so easy for me as i prefer taking screens at night but my sims can't always be in the dark so let us all struggle together ok? ok.) this tut is done in procreate on the iPad.

Before taking screenshots:

Help yourself as much as you can in-game, utilise in-game lighting as shadows/lighting is created for you

Understand good/bad composition and add variety by using different angles to make scenes look interesting

I take LOTS of photos just to end up with 1 or 2 good ones

step 1: i would use liquify to smooth out any sharp edges or paint over them

step 2: create new layer, blending mode "multiply" use the colour picker on the area you want to add shadows to, use the selection tool to draw the shadow. you can either colour fill or just shade into the area with the brush. If you colour fill you can then erase lines that are too harsh or use the smudge tool to soften them.

step 3: do this same step but for the clothing. remember shadows are not usually completly black so i use shades of blue to shade her clothes and then shades of green for the tree.

step 4: create new layer, blending mode: overlay. outline the left side of the sim this is to make the light source more prominant. as natural light is not usually just white, i picked a slight orange tint.

step 5: add more lighting to enhance the effect. *create new layer* blending mode: add, and do the same thing as step 4 but with this layer i'll add more lighting to the parts that will be affected most by the light

step 6: i edit the hair. you can look here for my in depth hair tutorial

step 7: add lighting effects *create new layer* blending mode: add. i used the default procreate brushes 'flare' and 'glimmer' [found in luminace] to immitate light rays

step 8: merge all layers, *duplicate layer* add bloom effect and change opacity and erase parts where bloom is too strong.

step 9: merge again, then go into photshop and colour grade using 'camera raw filter' then 'smart sharpen', use 'topaz labs' effect then done!

Medieval Easel Paintings Default Replacement

Today I come bearing gifts! Okay, it’s just 1 gift, but it’s kinda a doozy, which took me almost 2 days to complete – medieval easel painting default replacements! For all the people, like me, who play medieval-themed sims 4, I don’t know about you, but I was tired of having modern-themed paintings in a world where they shouldn’t be, so I decided to undertake the big task of changing the default paintings into something more of the middle ages/medieval. So, 311 paintings later, here we are!

Now, on to the specs:

➳ The defaults I changed were for abstract, classic, emotional, impressionism, popart, realism, and surreal.  They DO NOT change landscape or figure painting because I followed DaisyTighfield’s tutorial over at Modthesims and she did not include those (a big thank you to them for parsing out the files and making her own default replacements – check them out; they’re pretty amazing).

➳ There may be 1 or 2 paintings that fell through the cracks, but that’s because they weren’t included in the images I changed. If that happens, just try repainting the same painting style over again and it should load one that I did change.  Let me know if there are any issues, but I did test in game and it worked fine.

➳ These are default replacements. You CAN have all of these in your game if you want, or you can pick and choose, but if you have another mod that overrides the default paintings, it will NOT work. It’s a one-or-the-other kinda thing. You can download each individually, or you can download the zip for all of them.

how i have been updating eye cc

in warehouse, i set the AgeGender's value to "000030FE" for one swatch. then, on the same swatch in studio, i apply to all swatches. boom! works for all ages, including infants!

for those who don’t know, this works for makeup and skin details too. literally just use sims 4 studio to open the packages you already have in your mods folder and change the age gender value to this, and it will be enable for infants. it’s so simple that i feel like i’m going insane 😭😭😭😭
