ye - review (light)

The cover art shows a landscape of some mountains and in a handwritten font “I hate being bi-polar, it’s awesome”. The interesting thing about Kanye West is the more we try to understand him, the more difficult it is. He’s an artist, a founding father in connecting mainstream fashion to Hip Hop, and what kids today my call a “Creative”. Each album is a phase, an artist changes direction and perfects their vision over time. Honestly, this project won’t be considered G.O.A.T. However, Kanye has been known to release his work in momentous fashion. Tweeting he’d be producing 35 tracks for artists (including himself) and releasing the work around the month of June. “ye” is a reminder that the saga continues, production is simply impeccable. Serves as a reminder, there are still 3 more projects left to be released under the production of Mr. West.

Minimalist.

Having an abundance of choices for your items has its positives. However, not needing “things” to feel whole should be an ultimate goal. As Americans, we seek glutton through things and spaces. Big spaces (homes) to storage a plethora of collected bullshit from our existence. Whoever invented the junk drawer needs to be shot.

Quick SF Recap

Imagine visiting a place you can’t afford to ever live. Cost of living is so high, you would think you were in the residential area of Beverly Hills or something. Think again, just go to San Francisco. I love San Francisco, the odd city structures of buildings slammed next to one another, I don’t think there are alley ways. They have an immaculate public transit system that puts Seattle and Tacoma to shame. Plenty of cool places to eat and lots to do, honestly the whole Bay Area is cool to say the least. I’ve yet to travel to San Diego, but I enjoy most of California outside of Los Angeles.

I’ve traveled San Fran a few times, but I’ve always missed out on visiting Chinatown. Supposedly, it’s the biggest Chinatown in America with plenty to offer, I just want to eat. I’ve at least gone down to Japantown, I’ve never heard of such a place, so I was curious. The best part about it was the book store, such an assortment of pop culture reads including books for adults without the curtains. I think it’s more embarrassing to be seen walking through “adults only” beaded curtains than just standing with the book in your hand. Best part was as I set the book down describing how to effectively shoot your own nude photos, I found a book on In Home Hip-Hop Producers. Fascinating photos of producer’s home set ups of speakers, mixers, drum machines, laptops, and sorted instruments. Best part about it, the photos were in black and white. Black and White photos and music studios go hand in hand in my opinion. Color doesn’t matter when the soul purpose is sound.

The food in SF is great too, I found a Korean/American Breakfast spot and spent $8 on bacon. I love bacon, you love bacon, we love bacon. The place is called Surisan SF, nice outdoor seating and a clean bathroom, that’s how you know it’ll be a high-quality food consumption experience. Cleanliness is next to Godliness … not sure if that’s a legitimate quote, but I heard it in a movie. I ordered Blueberry Crunch French Toast, Millionaire Bacon, and Cheddar Cheese Eggs. The French toast was as fluffy as a new comforter and sweet as your first kiss. The millionaire bacon was this thickly cut piece of pork lathered in sweet brown sugar and red pepper flakes. The bacon was like the demons and angles getting along in your mouth. Cheese Eggs are always wonderful.

My last trip to SF was for an art show called San Francisco Art Market. There was so much artwork, I became overwhelmed and left to explore the city. Overall, there’s plenty to do in such a place as San Francisco, California. Check it out sometime.

Lost in the World

We work hard all of our lives to get ahead somehow and once it’s over, wheres our legacy ? 10 years ago I was a wide eyed 18 year old with the world ahead of me and now all I’ve seen/felt was a bit of joy and lots of despair. 

All my wrong decisions, I take responsibility in that. Yet, all my right decisions might have been luck (or fate). 

Lost in the world is how I’ve felt since leaving my family for college. Lost in the world is how I’ve felt chasing after a career just for the income. Lost in the world is how I’ve felt when I create, when I write. 

Perhaps I’m a nomad hanging on tight to what society has to offer in order to survive. Maybe I’m not as aware of my resources as I’d like to think I am. 

But if I can avoid sitting in a desk space working a job that I hate, I think I’ll be better off to say the least. 

I’m just writing my thoughts down, to help others get through the day and someway begin to create.

Hump Day

Nice, spilled my Protein Shake in the car today due to my butter fingers and a bottle covered in condensation. On the bright side, it's hump day and my car will have a light chocolate scent for the rest of the day. Interior Detail is on the menu, I'll be at Metal Magic (my preferred car place) soon lol. Stay Positive and Leveled. Never cry over spilled milk.... Or spilled Protein Shake in this case.
