Qifrey tops, you’re all insane
Happy pride month to the tiny cowboy and tiny Trojan man from Night at the Museum
This hands down the best comment in the notes, I will not be taking criticism.
This amount of individualism is exactly whats gonna kill us all btw
"Going a couple hours without eating a single kind of food? No thanks, I would rather kill a child" is such a wildly horrifying take to see MULTIPLE people proudly stating.
I wonder how many people reblogging this scornfully stopped masking circa 2022 because "the high risk will protect themselves" from covid.
Ancient Roman Mosiacs
We need to start publicly shaming people for creating huge messes everywhere they go in stores. Retail employees should be allowed to stamp "DOUCHEBAG" on your forehead if you keep fucking up every display you see
At work we call these people hurricane customers (because they walk through the store wreaking havoc like a hurricane) and I think it should become a widely known term that no one would wanna be associated with because it means you're a fucking entitled jerk. Slash serious. If you literally cannot look at an item without completely fucking everything up just ask us for help. It's a better use of everyone's time and it's why we're there
I miss the Skeleton War
there is no discourse between gen z and millenials. we are siblings. come on lil bro, ill take you to amc. yeah we can go there early and play the arcade games before the movie starts.
Can we get popcorn and a drink to share :)
we sure can buddy, we sure can
Why do the two reblogs read like a soldier dying in their friends arms and talking about when they’ll get back home to give them a bit of comfort before they die
because have you seen the economy and society lately
People still tend to lump JK Rowling in with the category of ~problematic artists~ and I need everyone to understand that is not the problem with her. She is not comparable to anyone who wrote a piece of fiction you hate, or someone who made rude comments in 2015 and has since learned better.
She is far more like Elon Musk. She is a radicalized person with an extreme amount of social and financial power, and for YEARS she has been using that power to try to influence her government into hurting vulnerable people, on purpose. And she has succeeded. THAT is the problem with her, and THAT is why spending money on her books is so dangerous, not because her books aged badly.
Critiquing her work is fine, of course (I personally was never a fan so I really don’t care) but you NEED to understand that fiction is not the main issue here. And I truly think acting like she’s the same as the rest of any giant list of ~problematic creators of the week~ waters down how dangerous she is.
Possible unpopular opinion: treating having a special interest as equivalent to being an expert on the topic is another form of the savant stereotype.
For example: I am writing a dissertation on my special interest. Before that, I read everything there was publicly available to read about it.
Since doing professional research with academic training, I've realized that what I thought I knew was dependent on biased, outdated, and generally wrong historiography. Those books I read are incorrect in multiple ways, and I didn't know how badly until I was doing the research myself.
The point is: having a special interest may (and doesn't have to) make you read everything there is about something. But that might lead you to read old things or outdated things or things that are debated without necessarily having the ability to parse what is and isn't good information because you're just glad that it's about Your Thing. It does not make you an expert or even necessarily a discerning reader because the good feelings while reading a Wiki or an old book can make you less critical.
And it's ok that it doesn't! Sometimes the point is to make yourself happy, not to make yourself the most correct person in the room on a given topic.
There’s an emotion only unlocked when you live in a house with multiple stories. I call it “the stair emotion” and it’s when you realize the object you need is on the other side of yet another trip up and down those goddamn stairs. It’s the closest I get to transcending the desire for material goods. Maybe I don’t need that notebook. Maybe I don’t need anything.
sorry gotta get my ‘friend that’s too woke’ on but I don’t think the solution to misogyny is more misogyny. like by all means rip into republican/right wing women but your critiques should be about how they’re evil soulless people not ‘haha they’re ugly/visibly aged. they don’t know how to put on make up!’ like i don’t fucking know man I don’t think any woman at all should be required to wear makeup or be made fun of for not wearing it ‘properly’ also let’s stop doing the ‘not conventionally attractive = morally bad’ thing. that last part especially be kicking y’all asses.
you don’t deserve to be confined to some bleak room playing video games for the rest of your lives. you don’t deserve to live in a world where cis people and men project their fantasies and disgust onto your bodies. you don’t deserve to merely survive. you deserve to grow. you deserve to feel your own feelings without shame. you deserve the freedom to cry out and take up space. you deserve joy
Ya'll remember how online games made specifically for children were programmed in a way that made it practically impossible to share your personal info?
When age, gender, location was censured like profanity in the name of protecting kids?
But suddenly the Only Way to keep children safe online is to make sure that they have 0 privacy?
Yeah ok. Sure. For the children.
You can only drink the drink you get from this wheel for a month!

Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!
It’s very clear that you all have strong feelings about Tumblr and about this change. We hear you. The passion people have for how Tumblr works is one of the things that makes this place special.
As this rolls out over the next few days and you explore it, we’ll keep reading your replies and reblogs, so please keep sharing your questions, concerns, and ideas.
Your creativity has always been the heart of Tumblr, whether you’re the original poster or adding something brilliant in the reblogs, and nothing about this change is meant to limit that.
If you’d like to talk directly beyond the comments, leave a reply and we’ll follow up with as many of you as we can. We want to work with you to make Tumblr better.
