People always forget it's not so easy when you're in one to just get up and leave. Your life is suddenly in that person's hands and there's huge risk involved. And even if you get help in this country, the law is hardly on our side. Instead of actually arresting and keeping these men behind bars for good, they may end up just with the order of protection (which was violated in her situation here), or if lucky some women get men behind bars but it's only for small periods of time which could be a few months to a couple of years. And it's heartbreaking because this isn't something she asked for. This isn't her fault. People can say all they want to say, but they won't know till it happens to them.
