my interpretation of lola’s real name is dolores. it’s a family name and she was named after her great grandmother who her father was very close to. she died a month before lola was born and that was when her parents finally chose the name for their little girl.

dolores means "sorrows". it’s taken from one of the titles of the virgin mary: nuestra señora de los dolores ( our lady of sorrows ). but she’s been going by lola for short since she was a little girl. the only people who call her dolores are her father and her family from argentina when they visit.
