âSheâs a monster.â Marlene looked up.
âI forgot how this conversation started. Who are you?â
âArgo Pyrites.â
fletcher-mundungus:
Mundungus stared at first, silently. âWellâŠâ he started, yet nothing followed. Not for a few moments. âIs that a ânoâ to preferring tea, to preferring coffee, or to preferring hot chocolate? Or was it a ânoâ to the tea-set, which, I totally understand. Just⊠uhmâŠâ His gaze went past Argo to the shelves behind him. âIs that a first copy?âÂ
âYou ask many questions. Are you curious or rambling?â
ivyfletwock:
âAnything,â Ivy practically gushed. âI know very little about alchemy myself, outside of the courses I took, and that feels like centuries ago these days. I would be very interested to know how they study it in Egypt.â
Argo paused, considering his words. âI... I first took to it during school at Durmstrang. The elective course is highly regarding, and incredibly selective.â He furrowed his brows. âThere is a lesser known branch of alchemy: Spagyric. Many Egyptians practice this form, although itâs not my specialty.â
fenwick-benjy:
Benjy just kept smiling. âHave a nice day, sir.â

fletcher-mundungus:
âExactly. What I meant with the tea-set thing was about a product, an object, something that itâs quintessential to us. A wand is, of course, the first thing when it comes to be a wizard. But after thatâŠâ he pause, for effect. âAfter that, the next essential thing itâs a good tea set, I tell ya. Unless, of course, ya prefer coffee or chocolate. But then, any great tea set contemplates pieces for that too.â
âNo.â
tristandearbornn:
âThe landlord is in 1A.â
With that, Argo nodded in gratitude, and immediately headed to 1A.Â

fenwick-benjy:
âThatâs why cats have multiple lives,â Benjy said back, a playful note in his voice. âSo they can come back and keep investigating.â
Argo nodded, taking in the comment. âI must be off,â he replied, turning towards the door.Â
mafaldahops:
âMerlin, Iâd hate to get on your bad side. Heâs only a weather reporter. Itâs not life or death stuff.â
âYou think Iâm angry. Iâm not.â
florenceboot:
âRelaxed would be a good look.â
âI imagine it would feel better, too.â
marlenemick:
âYou beg it for what? Sheâs not easily pleased without blood sacrifices.â
âBlood sacrifices? Quite primitive.â
âI beg your pardon?â
fletcher-mundungus:
âThatâs a good one.â Mundungus nodded. âThough, ya have to admitâone canât just go out and purchase some Alchemy for themselves, now, innit? Unless the Witches Brew have suddenly expanded their menu.â
âNo one can purchase Alchemy. Itâs a science, not a product.â
tristandearbornn:
âWhy?â
âI think my mother lived here once.â
ivyfletwock:
âI am interested in your alchemical studies, believe it or not. Tell me about them, if you may.â
âWhat would you like to know?â
ivyfletwock:
âEvidently.â
fenwick-benjy:
Benjy nodded as he listened to Argoâs reply, a glint of vivid curiosity in his eyes, his interest clearly piqued. âYeah. Makes sense. Circumstances may differ,â he commented, already about to ask another question. But then he changed his mind. âI apologise. Iâm bombarding you with questions. Sometimes I just canât stop.â
âCuriosity killed the cat,â Argo replied flatly, thinking of his grandfather who often used the saying.
florenceboot:
Whether he was or wasnât, Florence still piped up, âYou seem tense.â
âIâm usually tense.â
