Fine. If someone was to make a video to try and reach a wider audience with the whole boycott thing, what are our demands? A statement? A way for devs to  communicate with the sso community? for management to send out an anonymous “How happy are you with your workplace” survey????

As a legally blind person since birth I wanna clear up something. Rania’s portrayal is fine, better than fine it’s awesome! It’s important how normalized it is and the little details make it even better. When she’s showing skye the pictures i got the sense that it’s not a sight thing more like her mom had described them to her so many times she memorized them (yeah it’s a Thing a lot of us do to learn new places and stuff) do people really think just cause you’re blind you wouldn’t own pictures???? Also when she ‘saw’ blaze I think this is one thing people forget. We don’t know the exact nature of her blindness. You can be completely blind and still have light perception. Which is the impression I got is that when she meant she could see blaze she could perceive the light of his mane and tail. But again we don’t know for sure if she has light perception or not. Either way, if you are a sighted person, you have no right to say or complain about what a blind person can or cannot do. It is because of uninformed, ignorant opinions like those that we constantly have to bust head first through barriers. I can’t go to a store without it being turned into an educational opportunity or worse people acting like I’m inspirational for getting milk. I say this with the upmost respect, educate yourself before speaking on a topic you have no experience in or shut your freaking mouth.

how does your MC & their horse handle the colder weather?

Aria needed sometime to adjust, Living up in the mountains there was snow, and she was ok with it as long as she kept moving, but Jorvik weather is a bit different compared to Southern California weather. the horses they brought with them vary some love the cold, others will want to stay under their blankets. Winterflower is pretty good in most weather, rain or shine, cold or heat. He draws the line at snow though, hates Snow and will be a pain in the butt the whole time. 

what’s your MC’s favourite thing to wear during winter?

Soft things! Aria loves wearing soft, warm, fluffy sweaters. While she will dress up for special occasions, she’s generally all about comfort. A lot of jeans, and layers. When she does dress up she has this winter cloak she loves to wear too.

9. if your MC and their horse could both wish for anything as their present this year, what would it be?

Aria, isn’t particularly materialistic so she’s always happy with whatever she gets it. (Once her friend Eric gave her a pinecone when they were kids, she painted it and hung it in her room as a decoration) She’d wish to do something with her friends, a trail ride and a picnic maybe. 

Winterflower gets a lot of love, but he’d probably wish for more apples.

3. does your MC celebrate any winter holidays? which ones, and how do they celebrate?

Aria grew up celebrating primarily Christmas. It was a mix of her mother’s Jorvagian traditions and her father’s family ones. Her father isn’t particularly religious so Aria didn’t go to church services or anything (though she has read and is familiar with the Bible out of her own curiosity) They also do New Years, and the winter Solstice. On the Solstice They’ll stay up late, her mom made cookies and they’d go stargazing.

14. How do they make their money?

I never really talked about it here, and I have more info up on instagram (@aria_dolphinheart) but being a minor (She’s 17 now!) Aria mostly does odd jobs around Jorvik. That being said, Her dad is kinda a millionaire... The Whitneys are one of those old money kinda rich families, but when Aria’s Dad met her mom, he followed her dream of bringing a bit of Jorvik to the the USA. So Aria grew up mucking out stalls, feeding horses, and doing chores on her family’s stable. If she wanted money for something she liked (and was highly encouraged) to earn it herself. Her parents will pitch in if asked, or if they see even after working so hard it still isn’t enough, but for the most part they want her top learn independence and encourage her in her endeavors. 

22. What do they think or feel about Pandoria? Have they or do they visit outside of the quests (using the rifts)? If they have or still do, why?

She’s only been to Pandoria one other time (token) it’s not easy for her to go back there. She knows it’s not evil it just is... but all she can think of when it’s brought up is Elizabeth... Aria was at her Gramps’ funeral, but she never got to know him.. Elizabeth was the first person she knew who’d died... she got a chance to make a connection there, and was still just getting to really know hwer. Like Herman, Aria’s maternal Grandfather worked with the druids, so sometimes Elizabeth would tell her stories about him over cups of tea. so in a way for Aria it’s like she lost two people instead of one. She doesn’t hate Pandoria, it’s just kinda hard for her to go back there unless it’s absolutely necessary.

So I’ve decided to go ahead with the creepy stories from Jorvik podcast idea, which means I need a co-host.

Here’s the concept for those who did it see the original post:

Two “NPC”s who aren’t in any way related to the main plot of SSO sit down and talk about the weird shit going on Jorvik. Imagine buzzfeed unsolved, but with horses.

Every episode wi focus on one specific topic, and will be uploaded to YouTube. While they’ll be called podcasts, I want to add sprites of the characters talking just so there’s a distinction.

It will be scripted ahead of time, and I hope to get the first video out by spooky month, which means I need to find my cohost now.

Here’s what I expect from you:

while the entire project will take a lot of writing, drawing and editing, I will never demand that you participate in it. If you want to, you can, but I personally cannot expect you to put in work like that for free.

I will however need you to come up with a character, and I need you to voice said character maybe twice a month. If you have a decent quality mic that’s a plus, but at this point I think I’ll be going more on personal chemistry and if I think we’ll enjoy doing this together. That means everyone can apply!

The finished videos will be uploaded to a YouTube channel twice a month, running for as long as we feel we can go on and think it’s still fun.

So! If you’re interested in helping me with this, feel free to DM me! I also think it’ll be fun to have guests on some episodes, so if you want to partake but you don’t want all the commitment, send me a DM too!

Dear Journal,

There’s a new girl at the Silverglade Equestrian Center, where Mom was boarding her show horse Misty (Oceanmist) until we had everything set up at home. I gave her a tour, helped her sign up for lessons, and we went to the Midsummer Festival (because Jorvik’s is a week long!) together. Later I took Brilliantdawn out for a ride. Dawn’s new for us, we found her abandoned at our place when we moved in. Poor thing needed some serious TLC. It’s been about two months now, and she’s like a completely new horse. Dad said if the progress keeps up we can use her as a lesson horse for some of our riders.

Happy Midsummer!

Dear Journal,

This is it! My favorite time of the year! Back in Cali we had a mini Midsummer festival at our ranch, Mom would make me a new dress, and I’d help her cook her favorite childhood meals. Dad would barbeque, and we’d set up a little maypole for the kids who took riding lessons. But this year, it’s my first real life Jorvagian Midsummer Festival, and let me tell you these folks don’t kid around! There was so many people, it was almost hard to find ALLA (Alex, Linda, Lisa, and Anne) It felt so nice to just.. be a normal teen for a bit, Y’know?

No but Aria and Justin have more a sibling relationship than anything else. They tease each other, and Aria’s a smug little stinker after his rescue.

Aria’s middle name is Aideen. Her Mom’s defense being “If someone else can name their daughter Diana, then I can name mine after Aideen.” Her dad laughs at the legend which makes her Mom absolutely bonkers. it wasn’t too big a deal in Cali, but on Jorvik... things get awkward especially around the soul riders. Alex snorts soda out her nose when she first hears it.

Dear Journal,

this is top secret, this is why I’m ripping this page out and hiding it in your hidden pocket... not to self hide this thing better, don’t want cousin Cady seeing it. Anyway, Linda, Alex, Lisa and I finally travelled to Pandoria and brought Anne home. But it’s not all a good thing, Elizabeth, the woman who meant the most to Alex, who- who helped get me started with all this magic stuff... she died protecting us, protecting Alex. it’s been a few days since the funeral at Doyle’s Abbey, and I still can’t really wrap my mind around it. I miss her, I know I didn’t know her very well but something about her just... pulled me to her. Elizabeth if you can see this, wherever you are, I Promise we’ll do everything you ever said we could do, we’ll train harder, and grow stronger... the girls are strong already but I’ll catch up. Your sacrifice won’t be in vain... Mom’s calling me to dinner, but I’ll write again soon.
