Day 502: Exile once more. Ragnarok has proven to be just as Norse legends told it to be; no safe haven for those true to themselves. We flee west, back towards the island we woke up on, battered, bruised and starving.... I only pray that we can reclaim what was wrongfully taken from us in this bloodshed.

After several issues, such as waking up beside dead turtles and a beached shark and almost immediately being chased by three alpha dire wolves, I've managed to set up a small base within a small island area populated by so far what seems to be herbivores only.

Night has fallen and the faint glow of my torches outside only allow me to gaze so far.

What other horrors does this new land hold?

I've seen a few photos of the White Cliffs and they look absolutely gorgeous! I will admit, the new dino they added does scare me a little. Raptors are bad enough in the dark, but a type of raptor cousin who can climb literal walls?

I have... A poor track record when it comes to caves in ARK lol. The tribe tends to make base in cave systems, and just hearing that there's a whole network... Yeah, I think I might stay above as much as possible.

Also, your hint on the new Dinos fills me with a fear I cannot describe.

Day 1 - Taming Fails

Today I learned just how much the ARK Overlords hate me: So far I’ve attempted to tame two male pteranodons. The first one died due to Lola, my female pteranodon, attacking him after a Compy bit her.

The second... well, you can guess by the picture.

I had looked around before I knocked him out, I swear! Imagine my shock when I hear a Rex roar and turn around to see a bull Rex right there! It was only thanks to a cliff and two nesting turtles that I was able to kill him, but sadly, it was too late to save my tame.

I have a new laptop that runs ARK with a bit more stability, but since my internet is still bleh, I want to ask you guys something:

Would y'all mind if I keep logs of my solo playthrough of the Ragnarok map?

I keep getting into shenanigans in my island playthrough (5 rexs and 12 Raptors spawning on the beach a little ways from my house to give you a hint) and while I know there's not a lot of y'all following me, I'd still like to try to keep this blog running until I can meet up with my tribemates.

I Will Always Remember...

... when Raven and I got raided upon our first 72 hours on The Island. I had to frantically make a new house, and while I was building it, someone knocked me out and stole my club instead of merely asking.

As it happens, two hours later while on a scouting trip to find dodos, I was knocked out, had all of my items stolen and was dragged into the bushes for Velociraptors to eat. As luck would have it, Rae was only a few minutes away and killed them before they could start to attack me.
