their relationship was always open and a little casual, so technically cyrus knew that he didn't have to feel awkward around the other man. "yeah, but most of my friends don't have a direct line to my own mother." it seemed like he didn't care what the patriarch thought of his escapades, more so he just didn't want it getting around. "trust me, i'm making the most of my time here. at least i was before we ended up getting stuck." did he just admit to having some fun while sneaking away? maybe. still, a part of him knew that harrison wasn't going to judge him for that. he didn't seem like most dads. half of the time, cyrus had to remind himself that the older man was his. he was so used to putting up an innocent facade for his family that it was hard to drop sometimes. "you're acting like you're in your eighties already. you're not that old." he took another sip of his drink and ended up chugging it when harrison made the comment about not being allowed. "would you, if you could?" what a way to ask the man if he still had an active sex drive. the younger man moved over to grab the bottle. this time, he was the one that filled both of their glasses. as he sat down on the bed, he placed the bottle down on the nightstand closest to him. "bottoms up!"
it was a fair point. harrison and his wife’s relationship was built on trust, leaving no room for secrets. but when it came to their son, as long as he was not in some kind of trouble, harrison let him make his own decisions and share only what he found relevant. he would often question his methods, wondering if he should be more strict. so far, all he could say is that cyrus turned out pretty alright. it couldn't have been that bad. so what if he sneaked out every now and then? he was an adult on vacation. they went on a cruise to relax and have a good time. “sometimes it feels that way.” he pondered the question, choosing his words carefully. on one hand, he didn't want to give the wrong impression, to make it seem like he was unhappy in his marriage. on the other hand, he was naturally inclined to speak his mind, especially after getting some alcohol in his system. he waited for his glass to be filled up and took a long sip before returning to the question. “there are a lot of attractive women on the cruise. i would be lying if i said i didn't notice it.” he made a small pause, then added. “attractive men, too. everywhere i look, everyone looks like a fucking movie star. even you—” he leaned closer, a hand reaching for his son's arm, fingers tracing his muscles. “when did you get this big? your arms are double the size since i last saw you.” probably an exaggeration, something he told himself to justify how much he had been staring at them since the start of the trip.
"Don't call bullshit, that's- wait-" Ollie didn't even have time to register what his friend was doing before his phone was snatched away and he frantically tried his best to swipe it back. "Ike... Ike, what are you- Give it here!" Suddenly, it wasn't two almost-thirty year olds anymore. It was two children sat there, acting like they had done before. Had it not been for the fact that Ike was holding his phone, Ollie would have enjoyed the playful banter, but the lack of knowledge on what the other was doing made his anxiety spike. His gaze was fixed on Ike the whole time, teeth tugging his lower lip slightly as he dreaded what the other was doing, how he might be trying to ruin his day, judging from the glint in his eyes.
When his phone was finally flipped around, after far too long, Ollie's eyes fell on the screen and, instantly his jaw dropped.
"You didn't...." The thought of being on one of those apps made him incredibly nervous and as he saw the more naughty jokes, he realised that this was bad. "You-" He ignored the slight shiver that ran down his spine as he felt Ike nipping at his ear, instead focusing on the way notifications were popping up left, right and center from guys who wanted to talk to him, and shook his head. "This is insane, man. While I respect the hustle here, I don't think I'm gonna be finding a guy who gets me on one of these apps. Especially with..." He opened up one message which had a rather vulgar pick up line in, showing the screen to his friend. "That? Really?" He scoffed, rolling his eyes slightly.
“I think you are being very judgmental here,” His tone shifted, getting more defensive. “There are a lot of great guys who join a dating app to find real, meaningful connections. And you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Here,” He grabbed the phone once again, looking at the first profile that popped up. “Look at James here. Thirty-two, works in finance. How great is that? Let's start talking—” A match. He started typing. Then a brief pause, blinking a few times, speechless. “And that's a dick pic.” A loud sigh escaped his lips. The last thing he wanted was to admit to being wrong. “Okay, then we'll just try again. This doesn't mean anything–” And within minutes, Ike made the executive decision to delete the app. “We won't talk about this again.” Even if the attempt proved to be unfruitful, Ike still felt his action was justified. “Maybe the app wasn't such a great idea, but I truly believe there are tons of guys out there who would die to be with you. We should go out sometime. How about Friday? Let me be your wingman. At least think about it. Don't give me an answer right away. I will ask again in two days.”
"Something tells me you're not being entirely honest, but ok. I won't push, man." While he didn't want to say that he could read Ike like a book, after over fifteen years of friendship, he figured that they both had a pretty good idea on what the other was thinking or feeling. They might not have been the strongest of best friends, nor did they see one another all the time, but when they came together, it mattered. Just like it would now. "Ike two-point-oh. I like that. Fresh start, only way is up, and all that jazz."
He leaned forwards to meet Ike, tilting his head slightly as he began to ask his own questions about Ollie's life. It made him scoff, and he shook his head. "What love life?" he asked, taking a swig of his beer. "I do appreciate that you think so, but apparently few guys out there want to date a high school theatre teacher who has little time for a social life." It wasn't that he didn't enjoy socialising, far from it, but his work kept him rather busy, and when he did have free time, he preferred to sleep or binge watch something on Netflix.
“Bullshit,” Ike furrowed his brow, in clear disagreement with his friend. “You are not trying hard enough. Here— I’ll prove it to you.” He reached out, almost falling on top of Ollie to seize his phone. In possession of the electronic, he sat back in his original position as if nothing had happened. “What’s your password again?” His lips curled into a playful smile, fingers drawing a pattern over the screen. ”Nevermind. Got it.” The phone drew closer to Ike's face, preventing Ollie from taking a peek at what he was up to. Ike increased the distance between them, fingers furiously tapping, rushing to get the job done. He was concentrated, a determined look on his face, not a single word escaping his lips. After minutes of silence, his body finally relaxed, and he dragged himself closer, placing an arm around Ollie's shoulder to pull him near. “Check this out.” He flashed the screen, revealing Ollie’s profile on a new, hot dating app. “Tell me you wouldn't want to date this guy,” He teased before reading the profile out loud: age, occupation, likes, dislikes, a few jokes here and there, including some spicy ones. “You just need to sell yourself better.” Notifications started popping up, winning a big smile from Ike. “See, they love you. Look how many guys want a piece of you.” He leaned closer, playfully biting his earlobe and dropping the phone onto his lap. “My job is done.”
Was this how he saw this year going? Certainly not, but Ike was one of his oldest friends and how could he ever say no to that man? The guy had been by Ollie's side through a lot of shit, they went way back, and now that Ike was entirely down on his luck, who was he to turn him away? So he had agreed to let him stay, it wasn't like he didn't have the space in his small but sufficient three by two. By the time the day came for Ike to move in, Ollie had made sure that the spare bedroom was ready for him, with space in the closet for him to unpack, and somehow he felt nervous. He wasn't entirely sure why, but the idea of having the brunette in his home for that long made his stomach flip in an uncertain way.
"Can't say I imagined having a roomie at this age, but I guess you'd say the same, huh?" Ollie replied, smiling slightly as he moved to sit across from his friend, taking a swig of his own drink. "We've been through a lot more than this, so I sincerely hope it's not the latter... How are you holding up anyway?"
Ike let out a heavy sigh and raised the can to his lips for a long sip. He spent most of his days lying in bed, with no energy or motivation for anything else. The constant loss has left a bitter taste in his mouth. What was the point in trying if he would just end up losing it all in the end? The last few days, amidst the chaos of moving to a new place, he barely had time to think about his feelings. It was the happiest he had been in weeks. "I'm alright, thanks for asking." He offered his best smile, lightly tapping his leg. "I don't want to focus on the past. That's gone now. This is a new start. Ike two-point-oh." His body leaned closer to Ollie, facing him directly and trying his best to decipher the look on his face. He couldn't help but wonder about his real feelings about having someone around to disturb his quiet life. Ike knew Ollie had too big a heart to not offer a hand when his friend was at his lowest. He would have to find a way to make it up to him. "Enough of my sad life, let's talk about you." He leaned closer, lowering his voice as if someone else in the room could listen to them. "How's work? No–! Better question. How's the love life? There has to be someone. You are a big catch."
being scolded for being too fast wasn't something that was rare for the young man. he was always eager. wanting to jump to the next thing if something made him bored. still, he awkwardly moved his hand to scratch the back of his neck. then he glanced over at harrison once they were in the room and gave him an apologetic look. "sorry, it won't happen again. promise!" he was just as eager to please the patriarch too. he took the glass and nodded slightly. "this can be our little secret, no worries." he had already had a couple of drinks on the ship anyway. again, when he slipped away from the family and went to the club on the top floor at night. more secrets that he just wouldn't share. he took a sip of his wine, but then choked it down when he heard the question. "you know that's an embarrassing question to be asked, right?" cryus' brows furrowed together as he looked over at the older man. still, it would be rude not to answer. "a group that's here on spring break have all been pretty friendly. some couples too. then another guy that's here with his family."
a wide smile graced the older man’s face, regretting not having a camera in hand to record that reaction. “what? isn't this what friends talk about?” he said with a hint of irony, completely aware that despite their good relationship, certain topics are preferably avoided around parents. “you don't have to feel embarrassed. you are young, handsome, fun when you let your guard down. you should make the most of your time here.” in his twenties, harrison was quite adventurous. jumping into situations with little consideration, always looking for new experiences. he had since calmed down, taking on more responsibilities as the family expanded. his younger self would likely befriend cyrus, encouraging him to come out of his shell. “i’m too old to be stuck in a cruise by myself,” when their glass were emptied, he immediately refilled them. raising a hand, he showcased the ring around his fingers. “and i’m not allowed to explore the waters.” he registered his own words, then quickly added: “not that i’m complaining.” with a laugh, he sat on the bed and gulped another glass. he leaned back until he hit the mattress with a low groan. lying down, glass still in hand, he raised his arm. “fill me up.”
It all came crashing down like a domino effect. First, his long-term girlfriend broke up with him, claiming to have feelings for someone else. Next, he lost his publishing job. And finally, the termination notice, informing of the owner's intentions to sell the building. It felt like a cruel joke. The universe was against Ike, kicking him when he was already down. How to restart so late in his life? Almost thirty, no job, no partner, and not even a place to live. He considered going back to his parents’ house, but the idea made him feel even more like a failure. So he turned to his oldest friend. “Just give me a month to get my shit together,” He said over drinks. “This can be fun, right? Just you and me.” On moving day, Ike brought only a few boxes, not wanting to carry many reminders of the past. It was a new beginning. “So how does it feel to have a new roommate?” He sat on the couch, a beer in hand. With a playful grin, he teased. “There are only two ways this will end. We're either closer than ever, or we're never looking each other in the eyes again.”

truth be told, he didn't want to be stuck on this boat any much longer than the patriarch. he couldn't control the weather though. "they said that they still can't predict that. could be a couple of hours, could be a couple of days." he bounced back and forth on his heels, looking a little awkward. "but we should be able to still use everything on the ship." if given the choice, he would have bailed on everything just to make it to the island earlier. beat the storm. yet he didn't have a crystal ball and couldn't predict any of this happening. he knew that harrison wasn't over the moon with it either, but he wanted to make the best of them being stuck. otherwise, they were both going to be miserable. "yeah, i am!" it wouldn't be the first time he had some booze, but he wasn't going to admit to that right away. "let's go." a smile finally formed on cyrus' face at the thought of winding down with his dad and some alcohol. he started to head back to the cabin, a little pep in his step making him faster than normal.
it sucked to be stuck in the same place, but the boat was far from being an unpleasant place. a new perspective is all he needed. only a few more hours until the weather cleared, if they were lucky. at least he wasn't alone. watching his boy take the lead, moving in hurried steps, amused him. his pace remained unchanged, distance quickly increasing between them. he reunited with cyrus back at their cabin’s door. “don’t leave your old man behind,” he said playfully with a few pats on his shoulders. inside the cabin, harrison locked the doors. he didn't want anyone walking in on them getting drunk together. “don’t tell your mother. what happens in the cruise, stays in the cruise.” he placed a finger in front of his lips as a sign of secrecy, then held the bottle of wine like it was a big prize. pouring two glasses, he handed one to his son and kept the other to himself. “so — have you made any friends on the cruise? you had many eyes on you back in the pool as i’m sure you noticed.”

Friends, there will be no more updates to this post. I have run out of characters and have been having to cut some from the list to add new. Obviously that wasn't ideal so I've opted to a google doc to keep track of it all. THIS DOCUMENT will keep track of all of my commissions, as well as provides a breakdown of helpful gif packs per project. It's not complete and will be added to as I find the time and motivation for project breakdown. However, new commissions (ongoing and completed) will be added regularly. I'll probably make a new post to circulate regularly. It'll also be linked in my pinned post.

the cruise was supposed to be his big break. a relaxing trip after the beginning of a chaotic semester. yet, they were stuck out at sea due to some tropical storm that was passing by the island they were supposed to be at. he was growing anxious and decided to spark up conversation with the first person that he saw. "this is totally unfair. we were supposed to be on the beach by now soaking up the sun, sand under our feet!" cyrus threw himself down on the pool chair, kicking his flip flops off. "how are we supposed to pass the time now until dinner?"
the one fucking time harrison freed up his busy schedule for a family vacation, a storm came out of nowhere to ruin his day. “this is bullshit,” his anger wasn't masked. it didn't matter that the weather was out of anyone's control, harrison would still find a way to blame it on someone. “how much longer will it take to get us to that cursed island?” the rest of the family had left a week earlier and the plan was for harrison and cyrus to join them as soon as the semester was over. what was meant to be relaxing turned out to be just another stressful event. the patriarch briefly glanced at his boy and made an effort to calm his nerves. he had always been a hothead, but still made an effort to not lash out at his children. “i need a drink,” he declared. a nice bottle of cabernet waited for him in the cabin. but drinking alone was never fun. “are you thirsty?” they were on international waters, after all. twenty-one or twenty, it's all the same, right? harrison liked to think of himself as a cool dad.

"You are really putting my stamina to the test tonight." He mused, the corners of his lips curling up into a slight smile. "Luckily for both of us I happen to have a lot of it." He continued, and while he may not have been blood related to Gotham's infamous billionaire playboy, as his eldest adopted son, he certainly did live up to the Wayne reputation. He had learned from the best, that the perfect way to hide his secret identity was by making his public persona so unbelievably vapid, no one would ever put two and two together. "What are we on now? Round four? Five? I think we can squeeze another in before the sun rises."
Roy was uncharacteristically quiet, breath heavy, green orbs fixated on the acrobat, hung on every word he said. A lopsided smile played on his lips, satisfied with both of their performances. Whoever said you're not supposed to sleep with your best friend clearly never had a friend like Dick. It was hard to see how this could possibly go wrong. To think he almost skipped the gala. It took a lot of convincing from Oliver to get Roy in elegant clothes and playing nicely for the evening. He never belonged in high society, always being more of a free spirit, and fancy events only made him stick out like a sore thumb. Dick's ability to blend in never failed to impress the archer. His natural charm was a big turn-on. It had been a long night, and despite knowing he should get some rest, he wasn't ready to let go of Dick. “I have never been good at counting,” A shrug of shoulders. “All I know is I'm not done with you.”

Better was good but it still wasn't good enough. Garrett had always wanted to be a hero, just like his old man was, but rather than getting to follow in his footsteps he was left to drown in the man's shadow. Even after he died, the mere mention of his name was enough to completely engulf the boy and overshadow anything he ever did. He could create and control fire, and was even immune to it, but all people cared about was his father's legacy.
"Stop babying me," he whined, like a brat, as he looked up at Robert; one of his late father's closest friends. Garrett had hoped moving in and living with the man would have helped give him an edge-- he hoped learning from him would help him break out, be the hero he always wanted to be, and make a name for himself-- but it only muddled and confused his feelings even more. "Why are you telling me not to hold back if that's all you do. I'm not some kid anymore. I can take it."
He was trying to argue but it was hard to be convincing as he looked up at the older man; a soft blush dusting on his cheeks as he realized how close to the man he was. Had he always been this handsome.
"We both don't hold back this time, okay?"
“I already said I’m not babying you,” His tone is emphatic, but deep inside he's not sure if his words carry any truth to them. Robert felt protective of Garrett, despite not knowing him for long. The boy was a copy of his oldest friend — at least appearance-wise. Their personalities, however, couldn't have been more different. Robert doesn't blame the young hero for trying to step away from his father's shadow and make a name for himself. He should've met Garrett before. There were many opportunities, but Robert always avoided getting involved in other heroes’ personal lives. He wasn't the most outgoing guy. Quite the opposite. Robert found comfort in his big, empty house. Away from crowds, not needing to constantly block out other people's thoughts. “I’m not holding back. If it looks like I'm aggressive enough, it means I'm studying your moves so I can counter them. You should force my hand and not give me any time to plan a counterattack.” He stared directly into the young man's determined eyes. It was uncanny how much he looked like his old man. But that was not the time to think about that. Without warning, Robert projected a mental blast that sent him flying across the practice room until his back hit a wall. “Don’t wait for a signal.”
The weight of Robert’s hand was a familiar pressure, a grounding point against the frayed edges of Alexios’s focus. He didn't flinch, but the muscles in his shoulder tensed beneath the worn cotton of his shirt. A couple more months. The words echoed, not as a promise of freedom, but as a deadline. Failure wasn't an option; it was a precipice he felt himself teetering on every single day.
He let out a slow breath, the air catching in his throat. It wasn't exhaustion, not the simple kind that sleep could fix. It was a deeper weariness, the kind that settled in his bones, a constant thrum of energy just beneath his skin that refused to be tamed. He was a vessel brimming with something raw and volatile, and every exercise felt like trying to cup water in his bare hands.
Don't hold back. The instruction was a joke, and not a funny one. He could barely control the whispers of the people when passing through and for the past half an hour he'd been trying to lift up that bent metal cup on the table in front of him without sending it flying into the wall like a bullet. Robert's praise felt like a pat on the head for a dog that had finally learned not to piss on the carpet.
Alexios’s gaze fixed on the cup. The dented aluminum glinted in the low lamplight. He didn't want to do this again. His head ached with the effort of keeping his own mind from spilling out. But Robert’s presence was a silent command, a wall of expectation he couldn't bring himself to run into. His fingers curled into loose fists at his sides, nails pressing half-moons into his palms. The air in the room grew thin, charged with the unspoken current. He didn't lift a hand. He didn't speak. He just looked, and pushed.
And the damn thing started levitating. Just one inch above the ground... and then clacking again and getting dent when finally kissing the wall in the far end of the kitchen.
"Fuck," whispered the young man as he felt the grip being lost.
“If you don't learn to control your emotions, we won't make any progress.” Robert understood the frustration more than anyone in the world. His powers were strong when they first manifested, but extremely volatile. There were no shortcuts. Just patience and time and hard work. His job as a mentor was to ensure the young hero stayed on the right path to perfect his skills. “Alright, let's try one more thing. Come here,” He took Alexios by the hand and dragged him to the center of the room. Standing close, but keeping a respectable distance between the two. Blue eyes gazed directly into the boy's green ones, a soft look to them, trying to inspire confidence. “Look at me. Take a deep breath and clear your mind.” His hands slid up and down Alexios’ strong arms, moving in soothing patterns. “You can control this,” He took a step back, breaking any form of physical contact between them. “Lift me off the ground. You won’t hurt me.”
john was bored. and even if he wasn't, the pounding on his temple, the direct result of a lingering hangover, was enough to sour his mood as it was. through every reading of the same fucking monologue, he had to remind himself the reason why he was there - one joseph legnaro.
his finances were not glowing as bright as they had a few years ago, and the lavish expenses he had gotten used to were not about to stop if he could do something about it. and that's when the prettiest young twink came along. a personal project of sorts, a has-been child star looking to break out of the mold he was put into at the ripe age of seven. looking for a chance to prove himself an oscar-worthy performer, far away from the laugh tracks and one-camera sets. john could make that happen, he had the contacts and the cash for it. all he needed was for the kid to have a decent audition.
as joseph came into the room, his agent smiled. he was not supposed to be there, but he had close deals with the studio producing the film his boy was auditioning for. he watched him perform the hell out of his lines, with a smile across his lips. there were better actors before him, but none as beautiful as joseph. oh, the things he could do to him. he wanted to be a respected actor so bad, and john would make sure it happened. for a price.
⠀⠀⠀⠀it went well, joseph thought. however his opinion was not the one that mattered. but the fact the directors asked him to stay a little longer was a good sign. he made small talk, always smiled, and did his best to make himself look charming and interesting. at the end of the audition, he shook their hands and left the room alongside his agent.
⠀⠀⠀⠀“ i think they liked me, ” he said quietly, almost a whisper, so no one but john could hear him. as they moved further from the auditioning room, he allowed himself to speak a little louder. “ i don't want to jinx it, but —— i have a good feeling about this. i really do. ”
⠀⠀⠀⠀he raised a hand and placed it on his agent's shoulder, then gave it a squeeze to make him stop walking. without warning, joseph placed his other arm around the older man and leaned in for a close hug. “ i don't know what you did to get me in that room, but thank you. ” he slowly pulled away, but kept a hand on john’s waist. “ we should go out for drinks. we've never done that before. ” he flashed his most encouraging smile. “ please? ”
"Bother?" Bartholomew repeated with an indignant but amused snort. "There are plenty of people whom I can grace with my presence, yes. Especially since, yes, I'm here alone tonight." He gave Nicholas's hip another affectionate squeeze. "Are you truly complaining that I picked you, hm?"
He chuckled low in his throat, sidling beside Nicholas properly at the bar. He placed his glass down with a quick word for a refill before his full attention was back on the other. He, however, had no issues looking Nicholas over and remembering their last encounter. The other had made such a pretty sight gasping his name and clawing at his back as he got lost in the pleasure only Bartholomew could cause.
He wanted to see it again, and if Nicholas look at him, that hunger would be all too clear to see.
A sigh of relief escaped him when he heard that Bartholomew was alone. It's not like Nicholas had the right to feel jealous. They were friends. Just friends, and nothing more. His whole body trembled with excitement from the man's squeeze. It was so hard to focus. To keep those invasive thoughts away. “I’m just getting a drink. My fiancé is probably wondering why I'm not back yet.” Nicholas didn't trust himself around the man sitting next to him. Not since the last time. Not since Bartholomew showed him what passion truly looked like. Nick tried to avoid it, but in the end his eyes were drawn to the beautiful blue watching him so intensely. It seemed that not seeing each other for months had only made the heir's feelings stronger. It was written all over his face, impossible to hide. “I don't think I'm feeling too well,” The words left his lips before he could process them, his voice charged with undeniable desire. “Perhaps you could offer to take me home.” It was a plan. Not a particularly good one. But it was something.

Parties were a regular thing. Be it business events for one of his parents, one of their business partners having parties, the regular socialite parties. It meant he spent a lot of time with his friends, their partners, and Bartholomew was happy to take advantage of the time socializing.
He was sipping at his drink, gaze scanning the crowd. He spied his best friend talking to a few people on one side, then his gaze slid to find their partner getting themself a drink. He smirked to himself and slowly stalked through the room, coming up beside them.
"You look stunning tonight," he purred in their ear, a hand coming to rest against their hip, giving it a small squeeze. "And I think we both know that won't be properly appreciated, hm?"
The worst part of the holiday season was the endless events Nicholas had to attend. Fundraisers, charity galas, messy family dinners and now his fiancé's office Christmas party. It would make him a shitty partner to not help his partner make an impression. His name carried weight, being the heir to a big multinacional company. That was part of the reason he didn't want to be there. He felt at a disadvantage, often recognized whenever he walked into a room while not really knowing anybody. There were a lot of other places he'd rather be at. And yet, he knew he had to suck it up and be his usual charming self for the night. Maybe if he played his part, things would go back to normal. As hard as he tried to maintain the illusion of a perfect relationship for the outside world, the reality was different. Nicholas believed it was just a bad phase. The stress of planning the wedding and their busy careers... He still loved his fiancé and he had no desire to break up. That he was sure of. And yet… He just… He needed a drink. Excusing himself, he stepped away from his partner for a moment to get himself something strong enough to carry him through the rest of the evening. Then he heard a familiar voice and felt a hand reaching for his waist. “Bartholomew,” The corners of his lips tilted up in a tiny smile, but he purposefully chose to avoid direct eye contact. He couldn't risk any memories of their last encounter flooding his brain. Not in such a public place. What if someone noticed something? It was too risky. “Don’t you have someone else to bother? Are you here alone?”
