Well, at least gossip witch hasn't been acting up as much
More About Arlette Fletcher
General
 Name: Arlette Rutina Fletcher
 Age: 16
 Hometown: Saxtead, Suffolk
 Favourites
 Colour: Light brown
Band: I can't decide between Nina Simone and Billie Holiday. Those women were my childhood!
Book: 'A History of Notable Muggle-Borns' is my favorite wizarding book and my favorite muggle book is 'An Autobiography of Malcolm X'Â
Subject to study at school: I know a lot of you disagree with me, but I always thought History of Magic was really interesting. Not necessarily the class, but the subject.
Place to Travel/Visit: I never traveled very much, and I think I'm really more of a homebody, but I always enjoy trips to the ocean. I might want to try living on the shore for a while once I'm done with school.
 Personal
Closest friend at Howarts: Mary MacDonald. We've been very close ever since first year, when we were put in the same dorm. She's probably the sweetest person I know.
Closet friend at home(If same person please state that): I'd probably get made fun of for saying this out loud, but it's my mum.
Something amazing you want to accomplish while at Hogwarts: I'd really like to educate people about muggleborn rights and raise awareness of our issues. More importantly, I'd like to help make this school a safer place for us to be.
What to you expect to get out of Hogwarts, besides an education?: A better sense of purpose and an idea of what I want to do with the rest of my life.
Deepest darkest secret?(This will be completely secret from the other characters. It’s just interesting to know for the players.): Sometimes I really do internalize all the stuff purists say and think that I'm worth less than a pureblooded witch. It takes a lot not to be completely destroyed whenever a pureblood does anything magic-related better than me, because I still feel like I have to prove something.
ATTENTION ALL OF HOGWARTS!
MY NAME IS GILDEROY LOCKHART.
AND I WANNA ROCK YOUR WORLD.
Uh...would you mind keeping it down?
I'm sort of trying to read.

Why are you...? Ugh, whatever.
Biggest turn-on:Â Sincerity. It's such a rare trait, I automatically like a person more when they're completely open with me. A nice smile doesn't hurt either, I suppose.
1-10,23,35,51
Sexual Orientation: Lesbian. I'm sort of questioning that right now, but I think I'll stick with that term for the time being.
What I'm really bad at:Â Ugh. Potions. And according to everyone else, knowing when to take a break, but I don't know if that's necessarily a bad thing.
The one person who's arms I'd like to be in:Â Oh, I don't know. I wouldn't say there's exactly anyone I'm 'yearning' for right now.
Best first date:Â I've only been on one 'official' first date, but it was rather nice. We just had a picnic at a park near my house then caught a movie. The whole thing was very relaxed.
A description of my self-esteem:Â It varies. I definitely see value in myself as a person, but I tend to be very insecure in social situations. I also lose a lot of confidence when I can't accomplish something through hard work.
Who my best friends are:Â I've always been pretty close with the girls I share a dorm with, especially Mary MacDonald. Most of my friends are either Hufflepuffs are Ravenclaws.
My favorite books:Â I like to read a lot of political and social theory and biographies, especially of well-known Muggleborns. Pulp fiction books are my guilty pleasure.
Biggest Turn-Offs:Â People who try to hard, or are too 'flashy'. Quoting poetry you have very little understanding of is a good example.
A description of my best friend:Â She's very sweet, and always there for other people, even if she's not particularly close with them. But she also had no problem sticking up for her friends when she needs to.
My favorite animal:Â A beaver, I think. They're one of the cleverest and hardest working animals out there, and they're pretty cute too.
Where I have lived before:Â I've lived in the same town my whole life.
What bands I've seen:Â I saw some indie girl band called 'The Half-Moon Hags' when a friend from Hogwarts came to visit me over the summer. I haven't seen any muggle bands, except for this children's group my mum took me to in primary school.
Something I should have said a long time ago:Â I try not to have regrets like that, but I can think of a few times I wish I would have had the humility to apologize and I didn't. I do my best not to make those kinds of mistakes any more.
I don't really know anymore.
ivy-tillen:
Everything alright?
Not really.
Anything you want to talk about?
I've just heard some stuff, so I thought I should check in on you
I don't really know anymore.
Everything alright?
Best Gift Given:
Paper Snowflake Chain
Given to a favorite teacher in primary school. Arlette considered her an important emotional confident as well as a great instructor, and the teacher had taken a particular liking to Arlette for being such a well-behaved, hard-working student. It had been the first year of many that Arlette would earn the title of 'teachers pet', but that didn't stop her from putting a tremendous amount of time and care into her teacher's Christmas gift.
Best Gift Received:
Cinderella Picture Book
Given to her by her parents on her third birthday, and read to her almost every night for the next five years. It was the thing that started what she refers to now with embarrassment as her 'princess phase' and she blames it for kick-starting her guilty pleasure of sensational stories, but she loves it all the same. She still has it and occasionally reads it.
So what’s going on? why is Hogwarts so quiet tonight?
Everyone's asleep, I suppose
What's keeping you up so late, Ted?
Blister in the Sun - Arlette and Gideon
Gideon enjoyed warm days. He loved sitting in the grass, or on the edge of the Black Lake, and soaking up the sun. Today was no exception. It was blisteringly hot out, which was a little out of season for April in Scotland, but he couldn’t be happier. It was the first day he could actually wear shorts, and he was going to take advantage of it.
After finishing all his classes, Gideon changed into more comfortable clothes, grabbed his homework, and headed down to the Black Lake. He knew there would be a breeze coming off the water, and it would help keep him cool while he wrote his essay.
As he walked onto the tiny strip of beach, he noticed the familiar mop of curly, black hair that belonged to Arlette, and his mood increased even more. He enjoyed her company, she was sweet and nice. Very easy to get along with. Gideon set his things down then sat himself down next to the Hufflepuff girl, hoping he wasn’t intruding on some inner monologue.
Arlette looked up, squinting into the sun as someone sat down next to her. When he was on the same level as her, without the sun blocking her view, she recognized him as Gideon. Arlette smiled at him, giving him a little wave. The two didn't know each other very well, but Arlette thought he was very nice and easygoing, and she considered him a friend.
"Hey, Gideon." She said. He must have been done with his classes, she figured, because he wasn't wearing his uniform. Lucky.
Arlette swished her feet around in the water in silence for a few moments, not quite sure what to talk about. Last time she had seen Gideon he had been in a great mood, but he was being a bit dodgy about why. Not that it was any of her business, but it was kind of strange.
"So..." She said. "What's up? Anything interesting going on in your life?"
Blister in the Sun
It was one of those rare sweltering hot days that always seemed to sneak its way into the middle of a week filled with otherwise wonderful weather. And if it was unbearable outside (which it was), it was even worse in the castle. The old stone walls trapped in the heat and made the whole place feel like an oversized oven filled with cranky teenagers. That's why Arlette had hurried out to the lake as soon as her break had started.
The girl had flung her shoes off and was now sitting with her feet in the lake. It was helping a bit, but it wasn't enough, and she was sure she could feel sweat starting to bead at her neck that was sure to drip down and leave a damp mark on the back of her shirt, which would be mortifying. She sighed, dipping her hand into the water.
Hey! Is anything going on tonight?
I’d love to see it too! Want to walk up together? I’m Sara. 7th Year Gryffindor.
Sure, that sounds great.
It's nice to meet you, Sara. I'm Arlette.
Hey! Is anything going on tonight?
Oh really? That sounds like it would be pretty! I read about a spell once that could feign meteor showers… It was way beyond anything any of us still in school could do though.
Hm. That sounds really cool! But sort of impractical...
I kind of wanted to go up there and check it out, but I don't really know anyone in the Astronomy club...
