"Ugh, that would just put this over the top. I'll have to try that one day." She said and before nodding. "You're welcome. I'm glad we were both able to do this. "Honestly, frozen lemonade is kind of one of those things that make everything taste better." he admitted. "But it's never not paired well with carnival food." he admitted, his own eyes shifting to the funnel cake in front of him, taking another bite. "I am also happy we were able to enjoy this together." he nodded. "I may just have to come back here once a week, so, if you want to join me we can try all the flavor combinations." @marixdominguez

With both of his hands now cupping her cheeks, their foreheads met. The shakiness of his breath brought a smile to her lips. He had felt the same sparks that she had. "I think I have a pretty good idea." Solana's own voice was shaky in response. She worried that he would be able to hear the rapid beating of her heart inside her chest. Solana pulled back, only slightly so that she could look better into his eyes. "I want to do this with you, Arlo. I have loved you for as long as I can remember." The version of love had taken different shapes over the years, but it had always been there for her, in one way or another. "I can't promise that it will be perfect. Nothing ever is, but I want this. I want you." @arlocontreras

Arlo's hands pressed on either side of Solana's face brought him comfort. It grounded him in a way that he wasn't even sure made sense, yet, he wasn't sure he wanted to make sense of anything. As she spoke, admitting she wanted to do this with him he nodded, leaning forward so his forehead was now touching hers again before he kissed her again, this time with a little more passion than he'd done before. "I want to, too." he added once he'd pulled away. "I don't think I need perfect." he laughed. "Nothing about me has ever been perfect. I just need patience. Maybe a little more forgiveness sometimes." he added again, leaning forward to kiss her again, this time a little more softly. "Let's do it. Let's try." he shrugged. "I don't think I care enough about the 'risk' to be worried about that right now." @solanaxortiz

You'll have dry mud on you by the time you get there. I can keep you company if you want. Glare at anyone who stares too long and flip them off for you." She smirked, but didn't mind walking with him if he wanted. "Besides, someone should make sure that you're not falling in more mud." @arlocontreras

Arlo chuckled as she agreed about the dried mud, and it only widened when she said that she'd offer him company, complete with death staring and flipping off anyone that stared for too long. "Thanks for that." he smiled, nodding in response. "I certainly won't say no to the company." he admitted. And with that he took off in the direction of the beach, the other next to him. "So, tell me about your day." he stated. "What happened, besides seeing some curly haired guy fall into the mud." @phoebecarver

Logan hated to think that Arlo could be right, but the world was not all sunshine and roses. Even as much as Kismet Harbor had seemed to give off that illusion, there had been enough articles written by her to show her that it was not that. Logan's breath caught in her throat as the man under the tree moved. She placed a hand over her now beating heart. "I think this is best case scenario, right?" Logan shifted her gaze over to Arlo and then quickly back to the man. @arlocontreras

"Definitely best case." Arlo nodded, eyes shifting from the man to the other, shaking his head. "You going to be in this area for awhile?" he questioned, not trying to be weird but turning his back more towards the man under the tree, looking directly ta the other. "I don't want to leave you here alone in case this is some ploy." he stated, knowing he didn't need to say much more than that for her to get the hint. Arlo was absolutely trying to be a hero. "I'm sure you can hold your own." he paused. "But I would feel a lot better if you let me walk with you wherever you're headed until that guy disappears or you're ready to head out for the evening." @loganxwalker

Instead of a verbal response or an affirming nod, Sasha simply placed a somber smile that ceased to reach far enough to attach to her eyes, on her lips and looked at Arlo. One single brow was arched, turning her expression as curious and open as daring and prying. She liked to probe, unsettle people and she wondered if he was easy to fold. And when the man delivered his explanation, she was only partially appeased. Sasha hummed in response, glancing back toward the sheep, whose head was now buried deep in the meadow's rich green grass. "You don't know." She repeated musingly. "Have you ever given it much thought?" Another sharp look back at Arlo as she posed her next question. "You are, however, right about that. Some people get more lucky than others." She, to this day, was unsure how many lucky cards she'd been dealt. "You say that like this town has many stories that stay hidden behind its family-friendly image." She said it like she dared him to elaborate. Like there was something dark, something sinister hiding beneath the surface. If he only knew. "The noise, oddly enough. It calmed me. Took some time getting used to .. this." As if to explain what exactly it was she referred to, Sasha opened her arms in a grand gesture toward the empty field and let silence grow. Nothing but the wind and the birds could be heard. And in comedic fashion, right in this instant, the sheep decided to speak up as well. She sighed. "Go out at night. Sit in a diner on the corner of a street and listen to the conversations people have when they think no one else is listening. Watch the city lights from the Brooklyn Bridge." Another sigh. "I will make the call. Keep an eye on our friend over there." She spoke, as she moved away, already dialing the number into her phone. @arlocontreras

Arlo let his gaze meet that of the blonde, his own brow arching as she began to speak again. There was a way she carried herself, a way that she seemed to be prying almost - if he could put it into such simple words - and it made him curious. "No I've never given it much thought." he admitted, gaze no longer on her as he spoke. It was only when she mentioned something about luck that Arlo spoke again. "I'm not sure I'm someone that knows much about that." Not that he'd say he'd been unlucky in life. But he definitely wasn't lucky. Growing up in foster care, tossed from place to place, not having stability in anyone outside of his friends in high school wasn't something Arlo was proud of. Not that he could change it, that was just the hand he'd been dealt. As she spoke again -"you say that like this town has many stories that stay hidden" - Arlo let his gaze meet her again. "I mean, I'm sure that it does." he nodded. "Isn't that the appeal of small towns? That it's quaint and quiet and then suddenly everyone's darkest secrets are being revealed?" he paused. "You can't trust anything you see and that's coming from someone that came back here." he shrugged. New York wasn't a place he'd ever made it to as most of his travels had been in different countries. "I'll have to make it out there sometime." he spoke. "Though, I don't know, I've gotten so used to the quiet here I think New York would drive me insane." he shrugged. It was only when she told him to keep an eye on the sheep that he nodded. "I do not think anything in this world is black and white. But there is no such thing as a curse you can put on someone." Her smirk turned into something almost apologetic as she shook her head. "Or do you believe that things such as these are real?" Her voice's tone suggested amusement, some joy she found amidst the banter and the image of Arlo's conviction that things beyond this earthly realm existed. Sasha nodded, her arms folded above her chest and for a second too long, her focus remained on the man beside her, rather than the animal, lingering in a meadow in front of the forest's expanse. And when he spoke, one perfectly arched brow raised and her smirk deepened on a marginal scale, turned lopsided, almost crooked. "So, you are implying that there might be a cult in our midst." Something about the thought thrilled her, unearthed a gentle excitement for something extraordinary to happen in this quaint space on the Oregon coast. "You should go, if you get a chance to. People either hate or love it." She missed it. The anonymity. Her father. "I think you might enjoy it." And for a moment, Sasha believed he might be the kind to find genuine beauty between the cracks. She sighed. "I will reach out to someone at the station to do some calls. Maybe he can reach whoever this sheep belongs to." @arlocontreras

"Do I believe that things like curses are real?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow. Not because he wasn't sure why she'd asked, but he had to admit the way she'd worded the question had been interesting and mysterious in it's own way. "I'm not sure." he admitted, eyes focusing on the other as he shrugged. "I think there's some sort of afterlife. And I'm not opposed to the idea that your actions can make or break what happens with you." he added. "But do I think curses exist? I don't know, but I do think some people are just handed a way shittier hand in life." he admitted, eyes focusing on the other. "In this town nothing would shock me." Arlo added, looking over at the other. "Truthfully, I don't think I'd put anything past a town like Kismet Harbor." a sentence that was innocent enough on it's own, however, if you thought about it long enough, he was sure that there was some hidden message underneath. "I'll try to make my way up there." he nodded, happy to talk about New York. "What do you miss most about it?" he questioned. "Like, if there was one place you'd tell the common folk to go that isn't super touristy but important to you-" he paused. "What would it be?" the question lingered for a moment, gaze shifting back to the goat across the water. "Smart call, though, calling authorities. Maybe worst case they know who called already and it'll save everyone some time." @sashaxjones

She let out another laugh once she heard him do so and she nodded. "You're right, but it's not me." She pointed out smiling at the man. She nodded and took a breath. "I'm sure that's the case. Doesn't the beach have showers? You could head there?" She offered before walking over and extending her hand to him. "I'll help you up. Least I could for laughing at you." "I'll forgive you." Arlo stated, sitting up a little straighter, hand extending to take hers. "But only because I'd also be laughing if I'd just watched that all play out. I have a feeling it was probably entertaining in the least and nothing beats free entertainment." he admitted. He let himself stand, eyes shifting to look at her a moment later. "Okay." he agreed when she mentioned the beach. "I think that's the best route to take." he admitted. "Granted, walking with mud on my during this heat wave isn't ideal but hell, maybe it'll help keep me cooled off until we get to the beach." he added. "Thankfully nothing in this town seems to take too long to walk to." @phoebecarver

She laughed and nodded. "Exactly. This is probably the best one I've had, and I've had them in a lot of places." She took another bite and that second bite definitely confirmed it was as great as the first. "It's the perfect summer festival food, really. I mean, so are the other classics, but you can rarely go wrong with a funnel cake." She looked over at him. "Thank you for splitting this with me." @arlocontreras

"You know -" he paused, taking a look at the funnel cake and holding up his hand as if to tell her to hang on a second. "I've had a lot of funnel cakes too, and I always say that there's no way there's a difference, that they're all made the same." he admitted. "However, I do think this is the best funnel cake I've ever eaten, and that says a lot considering I also have had them nearly every place I've ever been." he laughed. "I think the only thing that would make this better is some frozen lemonade." he stated, though nodded when she thanked him for sharing it with her. "Thank you for suggesting it. I would've never thought to get one if you hadn't said something." @marixdominguez

For a moment, she forgot how to breathe. As his hand pressed against her and thumb brushed along her skin. She'd imagined this before, more times than she'd care to admit. But, it was decades ago, when it was easier to bury her feelings beneath their friendship. When his lips found hers, her eyes slipped close. The kiss was soft at first. There was history between them, years of shared memories, grief, and love. Solana let out a shaky breath, her fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt as she kissed him back. With their lips met, she leaned into him more, using her hand in his shirt as a balance. Something was unraveling in her because it felt less like something new and more like coming home. @arlocontreras

The feeling of her lips pressed against his own was electrifying, and Arlo too felt like he'd stopped breathing. Her fingers curled against the fabric of his shirt sent a wave through him, his left hand that had simultaneously pressed against her side now pulling her closer as they kissed. And they stood there, lips pressed against each other for what felt like an eternity. His heart was no longer beating out of his chest, now comforted by the familiar smell of her shampoo, the way she seemed to fit against him like a puzzle piece. It was nearly overwhelming, and Arlo didn't want to stop. Yet he did, bringing the hand that was pressed to her side to her cheeking, both hands now cupping her face as he gently pulled away, eyes now open and searching hers. His forehead pressed against hers as he exhaled a shaky breath himself, smile growing. "You don't know how damn long I've wanted to do that." he whispered. @solanaxortiz

Arlo's question was one that she had been thinking herself since the admittance only mere seconds ago. So, it hadn't given her a lot of time to dwell on anything one way or another. Solana's tongue wet her lips, giving her another moment in her mind before she spoke. "I'm scared, too, Arlo. I-" Solana shook her head, "I don't want us to try and regret it either, but it's us." She kept her gaze steady on him. "I do think we owe it to ourselves to try." The brunette couldn't say that this is what Vance would want, maybe not if he were still around but they always told one another that they wanted the other to be happy. "Arlo," Solana moved closer to him, her pulse picking up as she did so, "I want to try." The words were barely above a whisper as she met his gaze, only then to have her dark hues flicker to his lips for a beat. @arlocontreras

It's us. A sentence that had always brought him joy suddenly made his stomach lurch at the mere thought of ruining everything he'd always known. His entire life. Even when he'd been traveling the world he'd always known that he had a home in Kismet Harbor as long as Solana was there. And just like when they were in high school, she'd welcomed Arlo back into her life like he'd never left. Partially because he'd never left, truly. Her admission just confirmed that he'd been living within her heart for a lot longer than he'd ever have known otherwise. "Sometimes I want to." he nodded, eyes shifting to meet her gaze for a minute, only to look away before he spoke again. The way his name sounded off her lips made him melt; she'd spoken his name so many times but something about this time made his heart flutter and he looked up, watching as she shifted closer. She spoke, words a whisper and Arlo felt like he stopped breathing. He shifted, trying to keep himself from hyperventilating before he let his hand move, press against her cheek, thumb brushing skin and he leaned forward. Slowly at first, his eyes focusing on her before he closed them and let his lips touch hers in one slow but swift motion. @solanaxortiz

A lone sheep, idling in front of the forest's vast expanse with its looming darkness and eerie shadows painted an ominous, yet beautiful image. It was a look of suspicion that Arlo received. Arched brows, the most subtle tilt of her head and Sasha had ne mere thought that circled around her mind. If he only knew. "I would imagine that it takes more than the spreading rumor's of an old wives tale to curse someone." Honestly, it's likely. Now it was a furrow of her brows that altered Sasha's expression into something mildly curious, something inherently intrigued. "What makes you say so?" It made her wonder which things slumbered below the surface of the man she faced. Hazel eyes wandered across his face, trying to read him like an open book. Loose assumptions were all that she could string together at this point in time, vague ideas gathered in irritating uncertainty. She swallowed. "Escaped through a hole in the fence and went for a little walk, perhaps." For a brief moment, she glanced toward the sheep as she spoke. "Or it fled from the cruel fate of being the center point of a ritualistic sacrifice that was supposed to take place in these woods last night." Sasha shrugged. "Either or." With one more look at Arlo, silence grew, an extended pause, void of words, before she spoke up. "Don't look at me, I'm from New York City. I have no idea how farm animals work." @arlocontreras

"I mean you would think but -" Arlo paused. "Sometimes I'm not so sure that it's not always black and white." he admitted. "I've never put a hex on someone, or cursed someone for life, I don't know how these work." he added with a small shake of his head. Honestly, Arlo had been told that in more cases than not he were too honest and nice of a person to even say anything too harsh. So instead he was taking the other's word, because it did seem to make the most sense if someone were to think about it long enough. It was only when she questioned him that he removed his eyes from the goat. "I haven't exactly been handed the best life. Tried to make the best of it as an adult, but, those lingering reminders that I grew up the unwanted kid never seem to fully go away." he shrugged. "Even if they don't typically bother me much anymore, still don't think it would be too unlikely for it to be my fate." And if it were, at least he got to spend some time in his home town after all. The conversation to the sheep continued, and he had to agree that it made the most logical sense for the sheep to have escaped through a hole, yet, the idea of it being the center of a ritualistic sacrifice caused him to smile a little wider, shaking his head. "Yeah in this town it really could be either or." he admitted. As she mentioned being from New York he laughed. "That's one of the few places I've never been." he admitted. "And I mean, I grew up here but I am more familiar with people and household pets than I am sheep or goats." @sashaxjones

Logan was sitting on a bench, not too far from a tree. Yet, she was fully immersed in her notebook as she was thinking out wedding plans. Selfishly, she hadn't been paying attention to much else until a voice sounded with a question. She looked up, closing the notebook with a crease forming between her eyebrows. "I didn't even notice -" her lips parted and she stood up. "Okay yeah, we should check." She nodded her head a few times in agreement with Arlo. "Do you want to - or do you want me?" Logan questioned tentatively as she started to approach the man. @arlocontreras

Shaking his head as he followed her lead, Arlo exhaled. "No, I'd rather you not get too close to him." he admitted. "In case it was some sort ploy to get you closer for something dangerous." he admitted, now in front of the other, taking the lead. "I would like a witness, if you don't mind standing close by, but, I'll be the one to do the majority of th-" he paused just as the male figure moved, causing Arlo to jump a little. "Hello sir." he paused, just as the male began to mutter some sort of curse under his breath, causing Arlo to turn to look back at the other. "Well, I think that answers our question." @loganxwalker

The worst part about Arlo's words was that she knew. She'd known for years, just in a way that she never understood. The realization sat heavy in her chest as she stared at him from across the couch. Solana didn't have a way to soften the moment and she didn't want to. She didn't want to take away from what was happening. "Arlo.." his name parted her lips, hating how much pain she could hear in his voice. Especially as he spoke of Vance. She hated to think that he had been carrying this alone, for all these years when she had also been carrying it.

She also had spent years forcing herself not to think too hard about the road she didn't take by choosing Vance when they were just teens. Arlo was the boy she loved before she even understood what it was. "Don't do that." She shook her head at him. "I chose Vance." It was the truth, albeit painful in this moment. "But I didn't choose him because I loved you less." Solana knew that it was a chose she'd never truly regret because Vance had been the love of her life, but it never erased the fact that Arlo had been as well. Just differently. In another version of their story.

Tears began to blur her vision and only then did she wipe them away. "You're talking about Vance like he's standing between us." She gestured to the space across the couch. "But the truth is, he's standing beside me." He always would be. Vance was a part of them both. "But that doesn't mean I stopped loving you. I've spent years trying not to love you too." @arlocontreras

Hearing his name on her lips made his gaze shift, focusing on her for a moment. There was a heaviness in her voice, one that he hated because he just knew he'd been the cause of it. And he'd never wanted to be the reason Solana was ever crying; even if it was because he was finally admitting he loved her. Or more so that he'd never stopped.

The weight of the realization had felt heavier than it should, and while Arlo should've been relieved that Solana had never lost feeling for him, there was a part of him that felt even more guilty because she had chosen Vance. He'd been guaranteed to give her the life she'd deserved and even if he'd thought leaving town would make him forget it all, there was a reason moving back to Kismet Harbor had felt safe. Lana had just been the reason he'd stayed. She'd needed him for a lot longer than he'd even realized and in knowing that Vance was no longer here to protect her, Arlo made himself available because at the time he thought it was because that's what Vance would've wanted. But now he was wondering if it hadn't been Vance pushing him to stay because Solana needed Arlo in a way he hadn't realized at the time.

"What are we supposed to do with it?" he questioned, voice thick as he felt the tears forming in his eyes as he glanced back up at her. "I don't think I can not be with you, but there's a part of me that's going to feel guilty." he paused, looking back over at her. "I -" another pause. "I'm kind of scared that if we try it we'll regret it and I don't think I can handle losing you." @solanaxortiz

Phoebe was walking home when she saw the whole thing go down. She watched as the man was trying to catch what she assumed was his dog and the dog was definitely not listening. Then one minute the man was standing and the next, he was in then mud. Phoebe let out a laugh and she covered her mouth as she watched the other run by and then the first one noticing she was there. She kept her mouth covered, trying not to show she was finding this all amusing. "Sorry." She let out a snort and pursed her lips together. "I was just witnessing all that." @arlocontreras

Hearing the other snort Arlo groaned, letting himself lay more flat on the ground again, giving in to defeat, and the fact that he'd be showering immediately regardless. In fact, he was beginning to think walking home and then back for his car was likely his best option. Of course the one day he'd chosen to drive into town instead of walking, per usual would be the one day he'd fall into the mud. Yet, after a moment of thought he let himself shake his head, his own smirk forming on his face as he sat up. The snort had been hard to ignore, but just like yawns he often found them contagious. "You wouldn't think it was so funny if you were the one down here." he added, shaking his head as he laughed a little this time, lifting an arm that felt weighted like cement up. "Honestly, I'm thinking my best bet is to borrow a water hose of something from somewhere, yeah? I don't even think I could go into the gym to shower, I'm pretty sure they'd kick me out." @phoebecarver

Better here between us where we both can get what we want." Mari began cutting into the funnel cake and got a little bit of everything for the perfect bite. Once she did, she smiled and nodded. "Neither do I." he stated, taking a seat and watching as she followed suit. He stood, only for a second, the backpack he'd brought along with him removed from his back and placed on the ground and then let himself get comfortable in the seat again. Lifting the fork he'd grabbed from himself, he's gotten for himself he took a bite after she'd cut it, smiling wider as she said it was perfect. It was only once the bite was in his mouth that he nodded enthusiastically. "That's -" he paused, waiting until the bite was gone before he spoke again. "Incredible. Wow. I haven't had a funnel cake in forever but that combination is exactly the reason I should get these more often." @marixdominguez
