Delivered by Sail - flour sack bundle (with seaweed)
so into Maine Sail Freight. I’ll keep trying seaweed till I learn to like it because that stuff is magic to ecosystems. praise weeds of the sea and praise the sailors making this happen.
The first time I tried a ground cherry was with a cheerful homesteading family farm on Anderson Island in Washington while on a wwoofing traveling stint back in 14′. This summer on the CAT farm in Vermont I had the harvest to share and was so stoked to plop these little bursts of sunshine into palms of folks who’ve never tried them before. What an absolute joy, if not the best of all, to see peoples reactions to foods (organic local foods) they’ve never had before. Knowing that positive experience will alter the way they’ll navigate through a grocery store searching for this taste again- how folks might then be able to identify this plant growing in gardens and share that taste test experience with others, its so humbling. Sensory experiences with organic food is magic - and yes I’m working on sewing a veggie master cape this winter for next season
The other blog ya’ll don’t know about.. going to get into it this season in Craftsbury Common Vermont. Farm lovingly friends
HARVEST NO.5 / 32" X 48" / By Stev'nn Hall
the feeling of art inspiring art.
What if we shift the question from ‘who do I want to be?’ to the question, ‘what kind of life do I want to live with others?’? It seems to me that then many of the questions you pose about happiness, but perhaps also about ‘the good life’ – very ancient yet urgent philosophical questions – take shape in a new way. If the I who wants this name or seeks to live a certain kind of life is bound up with a ‘you’ and a ‘they’ then we are already involved in a social struggle when we ask how best any of us are to live.
