Happy anniversary to Eclipse Lake and Enchanting Grom Fight. Two of my favorite episodes
They didn't even owl-houseify her ppl in California just be looking like that
As a former Californian myself, I can confirm we all have big, white eyes with only black pupils and large hands and a large head.
Is if bad that I don't really care for the Collector like everyone else in the fandom does? I like his design, they're a really cool character, and ofc bonus points for being a childish version of Bill Cipher and killing Belos. But I don't really care for him. It's nothing in particular I dislike about them, I just don't care for him. Sorry to the people who like the Collector. Maybe it's just because I'm desensitized from all of the edits I've seen of them, or that he hasn't had a lot of screen time yet. I do like the possibility of them being the main antagonist for season 3 tho.
Everyone headcannoning Hunter as Neurodivergent:
Luz, who Dana confirmed is Neurodivergent:
Baby I'm not even here, I'm a hallucination..
I'm surprised so many people are just now realizing that Stella is a huge dick. Girlie said she wanted her husband dead, hired a hit man to get the job done, yelled at him (and it's implied she yells at him often) and threw his plants at him. Sure, maybe Stolas did some bad things in the relationship as well (not sure if hims cheating counts.) But Stella has always been abusive and I'm so surprised people are realizing now.
I've been trying so hard to get a job. Please help me employment jelly.
Tbh I just wanna pull a Hunter and wear gloves all the time, even in summer. Gloves are cool and I hate how my hands look 👍
So lately I've seen a lot of people saying that season 2 of the owl house is way better than season 1, and that season 1 was pretty bad compared to season 2 and all that stuff, so I'm gonna leave my honest opinion about season 1 because it's my hyperfixation and because I can.
So we can all agree that the owl house really picked up in season 2. The show went from a story about a girl just figuring out things about this witch world to the same girl and her friends fighting to keep it safe and trying to find her way home. And a lot of people say that season 1 was not as good as season 2, or that it wasn't good at all. Which I understand that view point, but I personally disagree.
For me, season 1 was such a great base for season 2. It started out the story in such a great way and was filled with a lot of wholesome moments and funny jokes and it set up the world and the characters very nicely. Basically season 1 walked so season 2 could run. It was wholesome, funny, the starting point for many great redemption and character arcs, and was just a cool season in general. But that's my own biased opinion and I can totally see why people think that season 1 wasn't that great compared to season 2. But it was still a great season and I don't think that people should look at it as a bad season, but moreso a starting point. That's just my opinion tho.
Personal headcannon: This man is neurotypical

Okay, I just wanna say- I love this frame so much, like. He’s supposed to look like an intimidating villain - he’s petrifying a child, but e
"Hey Luz quit making friends with witches, you're making Belos angyyyy"
Tw: Mentions of abuse and plus this is reallllyyyy long
Something I appreciate in the owl house is the representation of abuse. Examples?
Amity becoming abusive towards Willow because it's what her parents (mainly Odalia ofc) did to her, and when they said "We don't want you being friends with Willow anymore" Amity misinterpreted that as she had to literally bully and insult Willow for years. Then as their relationship builds, Amity is a bit awkward around Willow but doing her best to be a good friend. And Willow is willing to accept the friendship, not yet to forgive Amity. And Amity isn't pushing for Willow to forgive her! She's totally cool with starting slow!
Then there's Amity with her parents, mainly her dad. Her dad wasn't the main one abusing her, but he still did his damage. Alador realizes that and does his best to rekindle his relationship with his kids, and possibly even protecting them from Odalia making them a permanent part of the business. Alador's behaviors are never excused, not once. Nobody ever tells him "Hey its okay that you abused your kids and let your wife abuse them more. It wasn't your fault!" Even Alador doesn't excuse his own actions. And when he goes to hug Amity, she just shakes his hand and says "It's a start." And it really is! Then a few episodes later, Amity is frantically trying to get her dad to come with her and the toh kids. And he only gives her a remote and kisses her on the forehead, which given their relationship in the past vs. present, is a huge thing.
Then there's Eda and Lilith. Eda NEVER says to Lilith "Hey, I forgive you for cursing me out of pure jealousy when we were kids which basically ruined my life and then hunting me down like a dog for the next 30 years." Eda lets Lilith into her home when Eda has every right to kick her out on the streets even after Lilith transfered some of the curse onto her. Their relationship builds and grows, they protect and comfort each other, they do their best to work together even if it's hard. But not once does Eda and Luz ever forgive Lilith, not once does Lilith push for an apology from either of them. It's absolutely wonderful.
I will forever enjoy and appreciate how the owl house represents these kinds of things so beautifully and realistically. And remember, this is a children's show doing this. A children's show. And of course a bunch of other shows do this very well (ATLA, Amphibia, She-ra, etc) but the one that stands out the most to me is definitely the owl house.
OKAY SO I HAVE A THEORY (and it's very long)
So before I get into the theory I saw a video of someone pointing out that there's a picture of Belos in Hollow Mind carving his ears in the shape of a witch's (which explains why his ears are much smaller than the average witch's ear and smaller than Luz's ears while also being a bit rounded) and we know that in order to make all of the Golden guards Belos made them out of Caleb. Well, there's a cut into his ear, which I'm guessing happened because he messed up. Well, Hunter has a similar cut on the exact same ear. Now you might be saying "Well, he has some pretty bad injuries on his face so that could just be another injury" and that's a fair point. But, I also noticed that the lightest shade of blonde in Belos' hair is the same shade of blonde Hunter has, with Hunter's hair only being a hint lighter (which I didn't even see until I looked really closely) and Hunter having a similar fade in his hair to Belos.
Now the blonde hair could've just been from Caleb, as he had really light blonde hair too. But given the fact that his hair color is super close to Belos', who used to be a brunette, I have some doubt that it's just a coincidence or it's just Caleb's hair. And Belos has been making grimwalkers for a while, centuries, even. So it makes sense that eventually he would start to run out of Caleb's 'parts' to use and would have to get creative. So I think Belos used some of his own 'parts' to make Hunter.
Now this theory isn't the biggest, most mind blowing toh theory out there, and it's probably been debunked already by canon evidence, but it's just something I noticed.
Btw this is a long post incase you don't want to read it all.
Y'know something I really like? How trauma is portrayed in children's shows, specifically The Owl House and Amphibia. In the owl house, Eda has nightmares of her trauma. Luz downplays her own trauma while being obviously distressed about it. After Hollow Mind Hunter gets frightened by even the mention of Belos, freezing up and looking just scared, and having straight up panic attacks. At the beginning, Amity has a hard time standing up to her parents and saying no to them even when she knows what they're doing isn't right. And SO much more.
And then there's Amphibia, which has one of the best portrayals of trauma I've ever seen. In All In, when the Plantars see the harens that killed Sprig and Polly's parents, they're not just scared. Oh no no no, they are downright HORRIFIED. Hop Pop is straight up having nightmarish flashbacks and freezes up, unable to move. Polly is the same, and she's too young to even remember the incident. But she knows that those are the same harens that killed her parents. And Sprig just covers his ears and just says "The only thing I remember about that day, are the awful screams of the harens." And he can't move either. They're all just shell-shocked, literally unable to move as the harens corner them. If Anne hadn't told Frobo to collect Hop Pop and Polly, they would've been dead. And the way they faced their fears as a family, by doing the Plantar family dance to hypnotize the harens, was just amazing. They're scared at first, but then work through their trauma together. And the whole time, Anne, who's the only other person who knows why the Plantars are so scared of the harens, isn't saying "What are you guys doing? It's time to fight not just stand there." She knows how much this affects the three of them and comforts Hop Pop, Sprig and Polly while also nudging them to work through this. The portrayal of the Plantars' trauma just feels so real and even quite heartbreaking. And not to mention Hop Pop blaming himself for his child and child in law's death that one episode, and Sprig asking Anne if you can miss someone you've never met while talking about his mom, only for Anne to hug Sprig and for him to start crying that other episode. And of course there are many more moments where a character's trauma has been portrayed amazingly in Amphibia, but the way its portrayed in the Plantars is by far my favorite.
So yeah, that's just my long ramble about how Amphibia, TOH, and many more children's shows portray trauma better than some adult shows I've seen. Props to you Dana, Matt, and anyone else who's done this. Thankyou for listening to my Ted Talk.
I just remembered that "luz" in Spanish means light and Luz is not only Latina but her first spell was a light spell and idk why but that makes me happy
