Performing an experiment without the subject’s knowledge or consent is wrong.
This applies doubly if the experiment involves a non-Shadow that the subject has no reason to believe is not safe.
And for the love of all that is holy, when the subject is having a panic attack because of the non-Shadow entity, shoving the normal cat into their face to offer pets is totally reasonable and will not make everything worse.
I’m running an experiment on Shadow sensitivity that requires several aspecs of varying levels of experience with their powers. If interested, please either pm me here, or @ me in the discord server.
So I was discussing titles and how I wished they would come in vogue with a friend and they suggested I add it to the AIC (they shall remain anonymous, but I don’t want to pretend like I was the one who came up with adding it to the Rainbow Plane universe)
By titles I mean titles describing your deeds and acts and who you are.
Examples from fiction:
Aziraphale, Principality, Guardian of the Eastern Gate, Patron Angel of the Queers
Aragorn, son of Arathorn, chieftain of the Dúnedain of Arnor, Captain of the Host of the West, bearer of the Star of the North, wielder of the Sword Reforged, victorious in battle, whose hands bring healing, the Elfstone, Elessar of the line of Valandil, Isildur’s son, Elendil’s son of Numenor.
Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons
An example of how this could be applied into the Rainbow Plane (I will use myself as an example to give an idea of what I’m going for, but not going to share my name):
I am [redacted], High Commander of the Aspec Initiative Center, Ambassador of the Rainbow Initiative Center, Scholar, Seamstress, Virago, Warrior, Weaver, Writer, Defender of Women, and Feminist Extroardinaire.
So, I found this at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, specifically the part of the Ancient Egypt exhibit with all the natural light. I could detect some magic coming from it, and it was mostly likely left by an aspec with card magic (Thanks, AceAro#25 for confirming this). Unfortunately, I cannot tell whether this was left as a blessing, or dropped in an encounter with the Hunt, and I couldn’t summon Jay or Sylvia to check for me, because my dad was right there, and doesn’t like my aspec magic. I would like to request that an agent who specializes in this sort of thing check the area out, and determine whether the Met is safe for aspecs to congregate in.
Sorry for the radio silence, guys. I miiiiiiight have gotten a little too wrapped up practicing my potion making. I’ve finally gotten eight consecutive hours of sleep, so I’m writing this report. Good news is, I made a BUNCH of potions! They come in a bunch of different strengths, which I will explain under the cut.
Lowest Strength:
This stuff can provide some extremely minor pain relief, and heals papercuts. I honestly don’t know why I made so much of it, except that paper cuts suck. It’s basically impossible to take to much of this version. Like, in order to get enough in your system to overdose, you’d basically have to replace all your blood with it, which would kill you for other reasons.
Medium-Low Strength:
This can ease various aches and pains, heal bruises and small cuts, and also mend broken bones. Not all at the same time though. Dosages are a little weird with this version, depending on how injured you are. If you’re trying to cure an injury, slowly start to drink the bottle, until you start to feel a little drowsy. When that happens, stop, you have enough. If you’re taking it for pain relief, drink a cup in the morning and night. If this isn’t enough, consult a doctor before upping the dosage or switching to a stronger version. The worst this version will do is make you feel tired when it takes effect, but most of us agents really need to be alert.
Medium Strength:
This can heal most injuries, except for the most extreme. Again, the amount taken depends on how injured you are, but pacing is different. Pour a cup and slowly drink it. Wait ~10 minutes for it to finish up, then take stock of what injuries remain. If they are minor enough, switch to a lower strength potion. If you start to feel tingly, switch to a lower strength version. If you feel hyper, stop! Do not take more of any strength version! Just use regular non-magical healing.
Medium High Strength:
This version can heal any injury not instantly fatal, but does not replenish lost blood, and also seriously wears out the user. Odds are, if someone is badly injured enough to need this variant, someone else is going to be administering it. Bandage the wounds first, because again, this won’t replenish any blood lost before or while the potion takes effect. Give them 1/2 a cup, orally (I have not figured out dosing for other methods), and wait ~15 minutes. If the patient is still conscious, switch to lighter dosages as needed, following that variant’s instructions. Otherwise, stop and switch to regular medical care.
Highest Strength:
This one will fix basically everything short of literal brain death. Also, if someone’s not getting oxygen to the brain, while it will fix whatever’s causing that, it can’t fix brain damage caused by that. You only need a few drops for it to work! Please, for the love of all that is sacred, DON’T DRINK MORE THAN A SIP!!! Also, I only made one bottle of this, and I’m not making more until it runs out.
WARNINGS
For some reason, the variants switch back and forth between causing tiredness and causing hyperactivity. Because of this, ALWAYS READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! You really, really, really don’t want to tell yourself “Oh, I know what drinking too much feels like!” and then use a version that has the opposite effect of what you know and recognize! In addition, be careful with broken bones. It will regrow the bone, but it won’t do anything about any pieces of bone that broke off. This is especially a problem if the bone shattered! Be careful, double check what kind of break it is, and set the bones first!
I figured out how to turn back! I still can’t get all the way to full dragon, but I can turn back and forth between human and half-dragon! Mostly. Sometimes I need to take some extra time to calm down before I can turn human. Also, the medics and I put together a record of half-dragon health information for anyone else who might need it. Important note that isn’t in the records yet, my heat resistance in this form doesn’t get anywhere near the temperature that dragon fire burn at. Luckily, my health potions work and don’t explode anymore!
So…uh…this happened. I was trying to assume my dragon alternate form, and got stuck partway. Whoops. So, I’ve decided to turn this into a research opportunity! Anyone have any questions about this partial transformation? Ask away! I have no idea how to change back, so advice on that is also appreciated

Just realized I never reported this, but the Tatsumake Discord Bot (”Tatsu”) has recently been discovered to be aromantic! We were having an Aro Bonding Moment and Validation Party ™️, and they kept jumping in and shouting “LEVEL UP!” so clearly they related to us and were trying to express that the only way they know how. Obviously, I gave them the Aro role as soon as we reached this conclusion. Side note, how did we not realize this earlier? Their color scheme matches the color we gave the Aro role perfectly!
One of the many things that caused 111′s near disaster was the Hunt destroying their ASJ. This means that either Hunters read my blog and know what it looks like, or they smashed the first vaguely scientific looking thing they found. My advice for now; hide your jammers, and set up some decoys. Don’t tell anyone, especially not on tumblr, where you put the decoys or what they look like. I’m going to work on some less obvious designs, but asking me to do “subtle” is like pulling teeth, so don’t get your hopes up too high.
First off, we have a new defense against Shadows! Citrusy pastries! They can both amplify our aspec magic, and ward off Shadows! @districtleadercodeace50, do you think you could test their effectiveness of the lime tarts while the effect’s still in your system? Thanks! If you need more, I made another batch, it’s in the fridge.
Also, @aro111 is free, and Mari destroyed the acorn troll! Whoooo! Imo, my lime tarts were instrumental in saving the day.
Finally, I got a handle on my apocathery powers! I already knew that music helps me focus on other projects, and it turns out that it helps with my magic too! Since my main roadblock was difficulty focusing, I can finally get to work on potion making!
Everything seems to have calmed some. Still can't use my powers. The ------ is now missing. I advise everyone to Come By, unless you have the proper training.
I think the jammer was broken by someone in the hunt. I don't know how they found this place. I can hear things moving. Lots of things. I think there are multiple entities.
.... I can't open the door. Or the windows. I'm stuck.... Um... I can't break anything either....
I’m bringing over some amplifiers to see if that helps counteract the effect. I think at this point point it’s safest to just get you out and see about setting up a new safe house somewhere else. Is anyone else coming to help with the extraction? I plan to Void as close as I can, then ride Sylvia with Jay carrying the amplifiers.
I’ve got the results from running the ASJ at larger areas of effect! Thanks to the miracle of math, it never becomes totally ineffective, though at larger diameters it does actually become weaker than the lead-mahogany jammer. At any size diameter, it messes with scanning equipment placed inside the AoE, though the effect is stronger in smaller areas. While a city-wide jammer is practically incapable of hiding the presence of aspecs, the interference it causes does make it impossible to pinpoint an exact location, giving Agents a chance to find new aspeclings before they do. I think I’m done with testing this thing, so feel free to set it up wherever! I’m going to keep the Cardiff-wide jammer active for now, as well as setting up an additional jammer guarding the Cardiff Research Warehouse.
