Happy International Asexuality Day!! 🖤🩶🤍💜
Happy International Asexuality Day to my ace siblings! You guys are awesome!
I drew a crittter
Open question:
I consider myself sex indifferent asexual. I experience arousal, but not attraction. (That’s just me personally, of course not every ace is going to have the same experience.)
Arousal is different from attraction in that arousal is just a biological urge (I think) but it isn’t aimed at anyone in particular. Meanwhile attraction is the desire to engage in intercourse in real life, with a real person.
Just out of curiosity: do aromantic people (specifically those who are romance indifferent/positive) experience anything similar? Like some sort of romantic urge that isn’t aimed at anyone in particular? Or like romantic hornyness?
As a romance indifferent aroallo, the answer is a pretty simple no for me, romantic attraction and any feelings that make it exist are non-existent to me.
It's like a flavor I can't taste, it will never exist on my tongue, my taste buds will never perceive it, you can describe attributes that flavor has, and I can make up something based on flavors I have tasted that have similar attributes, but what I imagine will never be that flavor. I know it exists, but it doesn't exist to me at all.
I would be really interested in hearing other peoples experiences though, this is an interesting question.
My thoughts on it with my current knowledge would be:
Romance and sex are just different things entirely and you can't really translate between romanticism and sexuality, sex is a specific action, but there's no specific action for romance, an action can only be romantic if it's meant to be a romantic action by the person acting, and that can be literally anything.
But I am interested in learning whether that's real or not

I got more for aro week!
I had originally posted other aro cranes to my personal blog but I wanted a place where I can stick all of them together.
Here you’ll find my short stories and novelettes featuring aromantic and transgender protagonists. Some stories–The Girl and Her Unicorn, Th
I thought Trans Day of Visibility a good time to mention that I have a post collecting my stories with trans aro protagonists. I often feel disconnected from the aro community in that the (albeit very limited!) representation we celebrate and bond over largely depicts cis aros. Characters who seldom encompass, because they are cis, much of how I experience being aromantic.
In order to be seen as aro, I must push my transness into the shadows. The reverse is true in trans-centred fiction, where acceptance--by ourselves and/or others--is often demonstrated via a character's experiences of romantic relationships and love. Time and time again, I must choose which part of me to celebrate and which part to ignore: I can only be transgender or aromantic in the stories about which my communities express delight.
So this is a list of aro stories about gender and trans stories about aromanticism, because we deserve recognition as trans and aro.

Being aro but not ace really explains why I'm so terrible at archery.

Ash and Pikachu stuff (feat. AroAce realness)
Also the reason I made Pikachu so fluffy is because of that one thing where its like "pokemon tend to take after their trainer" or something like that so he has spiky fur like Ash's hair.
