ARTIE ROSMERTA, nineteen. i'm kind of a musical genius, just so you know. also closely related to those "other two" (pretty sure we shared an umbilical cord but i'm not one hundred percent positive on the details of tripl...ecy?).
we really want to try and get this place more active! so, we’re doing another activity check!!!! we understand everyone has been busy and stuff, and we’re not worried about anything, it’s just we’ve noticed that there are a lot of blogs that have been a) made and never used, and b) haven’t been active for a very very long time (months.)
SO, you have one week, to reply to this and a) let us know if you are still with us, and/or b) if there are any characters you want to delete/be taken off the canon list. You can reply to this by reblogging or just sending us a message, and if you know anyone who is currently away on holiday / is very busy but would still like to be part of the rp, it would be grand if you could let them know about this message so that their character doesn’t get taken off of canon list!
impressing artie wasn’t really a priority. working here wasn’t too impressive, for one thing. it was more like brady was trying very hard not to offend or upset him, at least not more than he already had. but it was in his nature to be an arse, so these things were easier thought than followed-through on. it wasn’t as if something else would come from this. they had — in a sense — said their goodbyes and parted ways years ago. that was the thing, though. there hadn’t been a real goodbye. brady’s was still caught in his throat.
artie sometimes wondered, in the handful of hours that he had with himself and the streetlight outside of his bedroom window, whether other people had the same bad habits he did. did they wake up late for important events, only to find that for the next three days they couldn't sleep at all? did they scrawl out half-legible regrets and send them off, liquid courage burning through their livers? did they fall back into the same patterns time and time again, or was it just him? sometimes he worried about those kinds of things.
other times he didn't mind at all.
he rolled his eyes when he was sure brady's back was turned, despite the slight suspicion that he would know, anyway. "from who?" he asked, half-sarcastic and the other half... curious, maybe, except that he doubted anyone else had told brady that at all. why it was such a concern to him, anyway, was a bit of a mystery. maybe this was another of those patterns-- pulling on brady's pigtails while he was facing the board. so to speak.
he, himself, had never been cut out for acting-- so he wasn't exactly sure whether his face was settling on a frown or a smile by the time brady was done insulting his ingenious band name. maybe somewhere in-between, closer to a grimace than a smirk, but not exactly either. he wasn't exactly sure what to say, either, pausing for a moment to consider his word choice. "all of those qualities are pretty subjective," he ended up half-mumbling, the quirk back at one corner of his lips, "especially that last one. maybe you just have a bad memory?" the suggestion came packaged with an eyebrow raise.
(in all honesty, brady might have been in the right, this once. the name wasn't all that nice, it was pretty far from normal, and it was a long shot off of easy to remember. but that had been sort of the point, and besides, artie had a lot more pride in it now than he once had.)
still, he had to give it to brady-- he didn't have thatbad of a memory, apparently. even if he'd had sounded smarter without adding that last part. but artie was not exactly in the business of giving out compliments, and so it was that he waited, again, until brady was faced away to give a slight nod of approval. it would have to do-- he was scheduled for a gig, not for a night of cataloguing and dissecting brady's shortcomings and successes.
so he stepped back to the mic, slapped a smile on, and did his job.
"give it up for our skilled and cheery introduction," he said, laughing despite himself. "we're behastic, apparently, and this is 'artie rosmerta is a no good punk.'"
