Enjoy a fatbike ride under the amazing display of Aurora in Alaska.  An experience you will never forget!

If you get cold, you can warm up inside the truck.  Our tours normally last until 1:30 – 2am and your guide will take you back to your hotel at around 2:30.

We take you out to a area where you can enjoy riding a fatbike under the Aurora.  This is the perfect way for photographers to get to a few locations in a short amount of time.  It helps to get different angles of the light… and the fatbike makes awesome photos under the lights!

Please Take Note: Your reserved Aurora tour date may change due to weather and Aurora activity. You will be consulted regarding any changes.  We can’t control the weather and want to make sure you have the best possible experience when you are out there.

Cabin Fever (7 Days) 7 Days on a Fat Bike through the Alaskan interior

Palenque is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites I always wanted to visit.

After two weeks my brother, Drikus, was now full steam into the adventure and we were trying to reach all our kilometer goals.  After a massive 1900m elevation climb in only 40 kilometers, we reached the city of San Cristóbal de las Casas.  San Cristobal (in Chiapas province) is a beautiful Spanish colonial town, which was build between a series of mountain ranges.

I could see Drikus was tired after a few though days in the saddle and was glad when he agreed on resting a few days.  I then took the gap and started to plan a quick side-trip to Palenque :)

The archaeological site of Palenque (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is one of the most beautiful mayan sites which can still be seen today.  This city was founded in the beginning of the Christian era.  Archaeological finds indicate that the city was occupied between the 5th and the 7th century.

By the end of eighth and early 10th centuries, the ancient Maya civilization collapsed and some of the archaeological evidence indicate that the city was abandoned by A.D. 850.

Visiting this magnificent UNESCO site in Mexico, you really get the feeling of how things were in the times of the Mayan’s.  This is a beautiful preserved site and one of the places that needs to be on everyones bucket list.

One of the many reason I decided to come to Alaska and Canada, was to experience the nature and with this see some wildlife. Although I did not see all the animals I was hoping to see, I had some amazing experiences that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

The feeling you get when a bear stands only 20 meters from you, looking you in the eye… is a feeling you can’t describe (or maybe I can). Your heartbeat race at 180 beats a minute, while your eyes scan from side to side looking at the bears reaction, legs steady and your mind focused on only one thing, the bears behaviour and reaction towards you. Do you scream and chase it away or wait that he/she makes the first move. With the pepper spray on the handlebars, I did not reach for it once.

I had one VERY close encounter as I was slowly moving up a small hill, when a bear came out of nowhere trying to cross the road. He was running and both of us saw each other the same time, only 5 meters from each other. Im still not sure who got the biggest fright. The bear was on his way to stand on his back legs to look big, but in that one upward movement, turned around and ran away. My heart was racing, but had one massive smile on my face. A pickup truck stopped next to me and the guy said “Man that was close”… I replied “Man, that was awesome!!” Yes, I was nearly ran over by a bear, but that few second our eyes met, is one moment that goes into my book of best moments in my life!

Each encounter with all the animals was special. From where a Caribou ran right past me (1 meter to be exact) in Denali National Park, a Grizzly huffing at me on a close encounter, all the Moose, chasing coyotes off tables in a campground, Dall Sheep on the mountains, rabbits, hare, otters, owls, squirrels, eagles, falcons, birds and whatever was breaking the branches during the nights close to the tent.

Alaska and Canada is truly amazing countries where you are still able to experience these encounters.

Im still waiting to see the amazing wolf :)

The beginning of September I crossed through one of the most beautiful areas in Canada, Jasper National Park and Banff National Park. Although the weather did not play along, I still got a few amazing views when the heavens opened up and got a chance to take a few pics :)
