I find it fascinating how calm and collected she was during their fight. Girl didn’t even break a sweat. She knows she’s strong. She knows she can easily handle this.

And then we’ve got Hunter over there - sweaty, panting, covered in abomination goop, clearly stressed and probably borderline panicking. I think if he was as calm as he usually is during fights it would’ve been a lot closer.

Just. Amity appreciation this week lol. She did so good. She really is an awesome girlfriend.

Societal Perception Of The Coven System

Covens are quite clearly the metaphor for jobs in our world. 

The main nine covens seem to refer to the more popular jobs/industries within society whereas the knowledge of their being hundreds of other covens refers to the ones people give less importance too. 

The idea of being bound to a single coven once you become an adult is a quite literal portrayal of the societal expectation of maintaining a rigid job, sticking to a single career path rather being given the freedom to explore many.

And it’s appealing for the youth - Luz, Gus and Willow’s eagerness in Covention - as covens/jobs stand for finding your place, finding who you want to be, feeling that sense of acceptance and belonging by finding a particular path for you. 

As the youth has a strong belief that finding a rigid path equals stability and the sense of fulfillment one yearns for. And society has encourages that ideal strongly that fitting in requires fitting into a particular path.

Oh Great, Now I Can’t Play Chess Because I’m Trans

A new ruling from the International Chess Federation will prevent trans women from playing with cis women in chess.

Important to note that ALL trans people are targeted by this ruling. Trans men will be stripped of all chess titles won, which can only be returned to them by “changing the gender back to a woman” (a direct quote from the ICF’s ruling). ALL transgender chess players will be marked as trans in their files.

Not trying to deflect from the blatant and virulent transmisogyny present here. Just giving a bit more info.

Sometimes I stop and think about how lonely Amity must have been in that first season. Sure, she had friends. Sure, she was popular. But that doesn’t mean she wasn’t lonely.

She was surrounded by people she didn’t care for all that much. They didn’t seem to care much about her either outside of her title of being a Blight. Whenever we see her with them, she always sort of looks as if she’s not entirely engaged with them. Not really paying that much attention to what they’re saying. It makes sense as she was more so friends with them to appease her mother. She cut off the one friend she had to satisfy her parents. She did so as she always sought and craved their approval.

Then this girl came along. This girl who was kind, bubbly, funny. This girl who wanted to be Amity’s friend even with how rough their introduction was. This girl who tried everything in her power to be Amity’s friend. Amity let her in and eventually fell in love.

Her childhood friend she was forced to let go of was back in her life. They grew closer, able to work through their past. She had her best friend back. And with her, a group of even more friends that came to mean the world to her. All because of a kind, bubbly, and funny girl who was determined to give her a chance.

the funniest thing to me rn is seeing transphobic women going into bathrooms in transphobic states and then being shocked that trans men are in there and actually (gasp) look like men?!?! (shocking i know /s)

like you guys forced people to go to the bathrooms of their “biological sex” but now when they do it’s disconcerting that men look like men. (yes even if that man has a vagina.)

Transphobes are shocked to realize trans men aren’t all “uwu soft boiz” and HRT does what it’s supposed to. It’s so mind boggling to them that trans people don’t look like their bigoted characatures.

Anyways here are some men that will be forced to use the women’s restroom in states like florida, texas, kansas, etc.
