It's not perfect- Strawpage's design tools are... not great- but I did my best to bring you all a Tumblr-free transcription of all my lessons. This is probably the most labor-intensive thing I've done for this page (next to the character polls). Four months of blood, sweat, and tears... and now, she LIVES!!!!

Some Notes:

I created it with the intent of Desktop use, so Mobile might have some issues. If it's not working on your phone, try desktop.

Out of the multiple browsers tested (Firefox, Google, Edge, Brave, Safari), Firefox had some issues sporadically.

I'm still going to post lessons on here, first. This page is priority to me, and the website is more of an archive.

Reasons Why Fans of Color Leave/Don’t Interact with Fandom

Casual racism that is brushed off as “an innocent mistake” or “they didn’t mean it” and then everyone pretending like it didn’t happen and moving on with their day (repeat)

Speaking over fans of color about issues that pertain to them specifically

When fans of color speak out about something that makes them uncomfortable or why that don’t interact with it (usually because of the racial/ethnic bias) they are accused of being anti’s or pro-censorship

Characters of color being used as scapegoats/bashed/plot devices 

Characters of color never getting happy endings/real development

Backlash against characters of color if they do anything other than be a white character’s side kick/best friend

Actors of characters of color being harassed for something their character did or didn’t do

White characters/actors getting all the attention/credit despite the fact that they are a side character to a POC or on the same level as the POC

Fanfic authors patting themselves on the back for writing a “realistic” character of color and it’s just a bunch of stereotypes

Being told that they should be happy they were even included when they call out the above people

White fans crying about persecution/exclusion because their fav character/trope/kink/ship isn’t loved by all 

Fan artists re-imaging characters of color as white/lightening skin tone

Everyone rushing to a white fans defense after a well deserved call out while the fan of color receives hate

Never having a safe fandom space and always having to be on guard with new people/fandoms/chats etc because they’ve been burned before

The White Lotus from the Avatar series are the real villains of the series.

They stick to the shadows and not even help out until the very end of the original series, they control the global politics in the Yangchen novels and their ineffectiveness to even let Korra train with masters around the 4 nations like all other avatars have done is very telling to me. They don't treat her like a actual human being, just a nuisance. Katara being the exception along with Tonraq, Senna and Tenzin.

They want to train the Avatar. Just not her.

- hijabis get really excited over pretty scarves - they also like to collect pins and brooches - we get asked a lot of questions and it can be annoying or it can be amusing, just depends on our mood and personality and how the question is phrased - common questions include: - “not even water?” (referring to fasting) - hijabis hear a lot of “do you sleep in that?” (we don’t) and “where is your hair?” (in a bun or a braid, usually) - “is it mooze-slim or mozzlem?” (the answer is neither, it’s muslim, with a soft s and accent on the first syllable) - “ee-slam or iz-lamb?” (it’s iss-laam, accent on the first syllable) - “hee-job?” (heh-jahb, accent on the second syllable)

Hi! As someone who got into Gundam Wing last year, I want to ask, What 1xR as a ship could be if Gundam Wing gets a continuation that isn't Endless Waltz? I am toying around an idea atm with my fanfic(crossover galore) and I really want to delve into more Gundam as a whole. That and I want more 1xR. Shippers gotta ship.

Hi! First of all - welcome to Gundam Wing (and to 1×R 😄). You picked a pairing with a lot to unpack.

Honestly? The best part about writing fic is that you don’t have to wait for an official continuation at all. You get to decide what 1×R becomes.

And there’s so much you can explore with them.

For me, they’re one of those pairings that shifts depending on the angle you take. Sometimes they make it work beautifully. Sometimes the gap between them is too wide, and the story becomes about that tension instead. Sometimes it’s soft and healing, sometimes it’s messy and complicated. I don’t think there’s just one "correct" version of them, and that’s what makes them so fun to write.

If GW ever got a continuation outside of EW, I’d personally want to see them as two people actually learning how to live in peacetime, not just as symbols, but as individuals figuring out identity, trauma, and what a relationship even means after everything they’ve been through. There’s a lot of ground there that canon barely touches.

But for fic? You can take that in any direction. Political drama, recovery arc, AU, crossover chaos... all valid. Shippers absolutely gotta ship. 🥰

While it's underwraps for the most part, this fanfic is part of a larger series of fics and deals with a core theme.

The Protect those who cannot be protected.

It applies to many things but it's definitely a call to action. I am a big fan of superhero stories and I wanted to tell a story that isn't just about upholding the status quo.

Heck it's not necessarily about superpowers, it's about even the outcast or in Heero's case(even Relena and Other Gundam Pilots) can have a chance/choice to become more than just weapons, They can become heroes or more appropriately Protectors. (Anyone, no matter what background they came from can become a hero/protector)

I wanted to give spotlight on him(others I am not at liberty to say lol) and loosely adapt Endless Waltz(to an extent). But his side of the story is very much a ode to GW as a whole and Gundam franchise. I'm still cooking 😆

Sooo....

Just found out Eddie Guzelian (Producer on American Dragon Jake Long) was the showrunner for Power Rangers RPM. He also did The Little Mermaid 2 and has done additional screenplay material on that movie.

Which further goes into a rabbit hole of characters who have a secret past and has a object linked to their past. And somehow, the past alludes them despite having some slight remembrance of it.

In other words Both Dillon(RPM) and Melody(The Little Mermaid II) are siblings from alternate universes.

The funny image of Dillon basically bodyguarding Melody and scaring tf out of the rich kids is hilariously.
