BİTEVİYE
Su akmadığında Ateş yakmadığında nasıl Hissederlerse öyle hissediyorum Demirin pası giderse Demir mi kalır geriye
Ne diye sever insan Söylesen kalp niçin atar Akıl giderse baştan Yosun giderse taştan Ne kalır geriye
Biteviye akıyor düşünceler Karıncalar üşüşüyor beyine Sühai ölmek senin beyine Günler geçti geldin sonuna İnsan giderse ne kalır geriye
Nereye kaçar uçurtma/ Kaybolmuş kuş nereye uçar/ Kaçar kaçar göçüyor dostlar/Dünyadan başka dünya mı var/ Söylesene nazlı yar?
Speak out, and they will understand…
When time is tight, then space is wide,
When space is ample, time does hide.
Let's shuffle the dice then, with no delay,
And throw the cards, come what may.
The air is filled with dust and haze,
As far as near, in endless ways.
As close as distant, hard to grasp,
To long to touch, but cannot clasp
Again, no moment to remain,
My tongue and palate dry with pain.
The hours always struck the same tune,
Blood flowed reversed beneath the moon.
Shadows froze upon the wall, so stark,
Be silent, someone might hear in the dark.
YALPA
Düğümleri çöz
Söz duyulur o zaman
Görür görmeyen göz
Adım attığında yol açılır
Ya kapının önündesin
Ya da ardındasın
Kapanın elindesin
Silkin silinsin pasın
Geceleyin gökyüzünde
Yıldızın parıldasın
Açılsın güller önünde
Gönüller kırılmasın
Essin deli rüzgar yalpalayarak
Yapraklar kımıldasın
Yağsın usulca yağmur
Islansın ipek ten ve saçların
Dizginleri çek
Yaramaz çocuk uslansın
Bırak içinde tuttuğun nefesi
Aynalar buğulansın
Dalgalansın denizler
Bulutlar kararmasın
AYDINLIK GECE
Gece aydınlık gelir gence
Gündüzler karanlık gibidir
Tomurcuğa yürüyen ılık su
Tükenmez korkusudur gençliğin
Ne göğün en yükseği
Ne de kuyuların en derin dibi
Gidilmez değildir hiçbiri
Döver gibi demirciler demiri
Çevirir gibi görünmez bir çemberi
Akıp durur gençliğin nehri
Yakıp kavurur zehiri
Çekip sırça bir yayı
Fırlatır gibi eğri bir oku
Aza kattıktan sonra yoku
Çekip aldıktan sonra varlığı çoktan
Ne varsa ne kaldıysa onu
Başlangıçta saklı gençliğin sonu
Ağızda gençliğin paslı tadı
Ne çölde kalmış bir acemi derviş
Ne de yürekte kopan fırtına
-kutup soğuğu-
Hece upuzun cümledir gence
Kelimeleri lavlardan beter
Kav yandı ve kül oldu keder
TO SPEAK / TO SAY
Whose idea was it, all of a sudden,
To say this and that to them,
To say them to this one and that one?
To build a bridge over there,
To build a bridge between,
So that those coming and going might pass,
Whenever they feel like it, now and then.
Every day and every night,
When they want to change their place,
When they want to change their direction.
Like a frisky colt,
Stomping around all by itself.
To apply ointment
Upon a wound that has been stitched and closed,
To expect mercy from the dead,
Like someone suddenly entering a room.
Whose idea would it have been, to speak?
TOWARDS THE DESTINATION
Still, walking is love
Towards a target at a destination
That you know you will never reach
Listen, and you shall hear
The silent groans of the stones
Under the feet of the lover
Growing deep within
The roots of the great trees
Joseph at the bottom of the well
Still unaware of all this
The earth is hosting its guest
Curious clouds have gathered
Birds are applauding all together
Where does the wind drag
The drying leaves
Together with the tears of the lover?
UPHEAVAL
Like illegible lines etched after a death too tender to bear
The well’s bottom vanishes as it fills the flowers fade, their colors shift
Dry floods of people pool on wet streets no telling where the mad wind blew from
A bride in white mounts a jet-black steed its mane ablaze in the night’s gleam
No veil can hide the tattered words yet still—make your vow, whatever comes
O rogue of rote, your body trembles the ground slips from beneath your feet
The great trunk’s center has been torn its proud façade stripped from sight
She swayed with grace, with knowing charm like jasmine cut from a reedbed’s calm
EXTOLLED
A bird flew out from your eye Spread its wings to the sky
Quickly turned from its vow And migrated far somehow
May it not fall into snares Nor be caught in wasted cares
Let it cling to a friendly hand May carpets roll across its land
Let its arms reach out to me Dip its bread into your tea
Drink deep from your flowing stream May its blessings swell and gleam
I cast a stone into the sea Its waves reached the shore gently
Mercy was whispered for the old And the new was dearly extolled
In the Ascent of the Void
You are at the arrow’s tip, edge to edge You spread your wings—you fly You arrive where you already are You fall as you soar You soar as you fall
You count the threes and fives You are awake—you sleep You grow as you shrink You multiply as you fade You cannot count, the more you count
You darken as you collapse into shadow You whiten as the snow begins to fall You draw the bow, the more you pull You know the world, the more you live You are in the ascent of the void—as you die
KNOWN
Suddenly they came — they were “brides” There were those who fled, those who screamed
The sky was pierced, the earth turned to flood Hand in hand, arm in arm, chaos in every direction
Suddenly they came — they tensed Some were known, some were strangers
Some saw the face of day, some did not Some knew night and day were rewards
The divided and the undivided arrived The known and the unknown, all at once
Some gathered, some diminished Those who stayed, those who left — vanished
Suddenly they came — they lost their minds Suddenly they appeared — blood everywhere
The sea warmed, the lake cooled, the flowers faded Perhaps they were known — or perhaps not
BELLİ
Bir anda geldi “gelin”diler Kaçışanlar oldu bağrışanlar
Delindi gökyüzü sel oldu yeryüzü Çığlık çığlığa sağa sola el ele kol kola
Bir anda geldi gerildiler Tanıyanlar tanımayanlar oldu
Gün yüzü görenler görmeyenler Gecelerin gündüzün ödülü olduğunu bilenler
Bölünenler bölünmeyenler geldi Blinenler bilinmeyenler hepsi birden
Toplananlar oldu eksilenler Kalanlar gidenler yok oldu
Bir anda geldi delirdiler Ansızın belirdiler her yer kan oldu
Deniz ısındı göl soğudu soldu çiçekler Belki belli idiler belki de değildiler
Gazel-i Penâh
Nedir şehd-i kelâm, bilmez dil-i turşî-mezâc,
Göz-i mahcûr ne görsün, mestûr ola âyîn-i sâc.
Topal-ı râh ne bilsin menzil-i maksûd nedir,
Söz-i bî-hâsil kim işitir, kim anlar, kim bilir?
Elem çekmek mukadderdir, bulunmaz çâre-i hâl,
Zengin ü fakîr müsâvîdir bu derd-i bî-misâl.
Vücûd ü adem bir hayâl-i bâd-peresttir,
Penâh-ı hakîkî ancak Zât-ı Bâkî'dir.
Yavaş yürü, tâ iz-i kudsîye erişesin,
Ser-i inkıyâd ile bak semâya, bul feresen.
Ol bir nehîr-i şevk, ak gönül ile, arın,
Nûr ile dol, terk eyle zıllı, yan ki bulasın cân.
He Is the Only Refuge
What knoweth bitter tongue of honey’s grace?
What seeth closed eye in the light’s embrace?
If foot be lame, what road shall it pursue?
And who shall heed the tale we would construe?
Lo, pain shall press, and press again anon,
Both wealth and want shall pass, yet linger on.
In feast or famine, souls shall seek the fold—
He is the refuge, timeless to behold.
Then walk thou slow, behind His hallowed tread,
Lift up thine eyes where angels fear to head.
Become a stream, with mirth and crystal flow,
Let light shine forth, and cast thy shadow low.
The Quiet of All Things
Act I: Of Flame and Shadows
The candle burneth—our silent witness be, ’Midst half-lit night and waters set to boil. Shadows do frolic upon the wall’s decree, As silence and motion in secret toil.
Act II: Of Sight and Denial
One didst hear, yet feigned deafness bold, Another saw, yet turned away his gaze. A droplet fell into the moonlit fold— The lake did stir, as truth began to blaze.
What all did see, what all did hear, Yet none did speak, nor draweth near.
Act III: Of Sparrows and Gestures
A sparrow perched upon a bough so bare, Then came another, light as breath of air. The child didst stamp his foot upon the ground, As though to shake the silence all around.
The woman, like a letter sealed in grief, Didst fold her words and hide them underneath. The man, with care, a kerchief did enclose, And placed it in his pocket, none to know.
Act IV: Of Flight and Memory
A sparrow took to wing, then one more still, The stone did roll, as fate obeyed its will. The moss upon the tree, a witness green, The mist upon the glass, a veil unseen. A lock upon the brow, like time’s caress— Each bears the mark of silent consciousness.
3KSİK (İKİSİ BİR)
Seninle ben hep bir eksiğiz
Birimiz eksik ikimizde
İkimiz birlikte eksiğiz
Hep biri var peşimizde
Gölgemiz içimizde
Gölgesiz kaldık ikimiz de
İkiz miyiz ne ikimiz
Birleşsek bir eder miyiz
