A/N: theres a whole bunch of fics where daryun is injured and narsus visits him so i figured i would do the opposite of that for something different. also you mentioned angst so thats what i went with (kind of). this doesn’t really fit anywhere in canon (its at least somewhere in the second arc) but i hope you enjoy it regardless!

His injuries hurt after the battle but at least, after a long fight, they won it. He was trying to get some sleep to let them heal. It was way too cold, but not cold enough as the void left in his soul and heart when he had to leave his loyal friends, family, his lands and everything he knew behind.

After many days in the foreign country, the prince was finally able to settle down in a cheap room. He was far from gathering the 50k army his father had ordered him to and the few money he could take before leaving home was starting to run out. His stomach had been growling for two days but today he was finally able to get a decent meal. A crab soup with some old vegetables he had been saving for a week. Arslan smiled a bit and tried to get some sleep. In only two more days people will go back to business after their holidays and he would be back on duty as well. Who knows, maybe he'll be able to get a free meal from the nice lady in the pub.
