As someone who is queer and watched Sesame Street growing up, I was very happy to see this post on my feed.
And as a now early childhood educator, I feel it is very important for a show as widespread and known as Sesame Street to let kids know that we accept everyone as they are. No matter how different or similar. Sesame Street has always done a good job with inclusivity. I hope with all my might that it will continue to teach kids and future generations to be kind and accepting for many many years to come.
With all the backlash I've seen on the Internet over this, I wanted to put something good out into the world about Sesame Street. We should all be kinder to each other, no matter who people love or who people are. In a world where you could choose to be anything, be kind.

The cottage was entirely still, save for the soft rustle of linen and the synchronized rhythm of their breathing. Moonlight spilled through the curtains in pale streaks, painting silver across tangled sheets. Asa hovered above him, a grounding warmth Anthony could feel down in his very bones. There was no rush—just the gentle, deliberate pace of someone who had all the time in the world and intended to savor every single second of it.
Anthony breathed out a shaky, thoroughly ruined sigh as Asa’s thumbs traced the sharp line of his jaw with impossible tenderness. The heat between them was slow and consuming, a sweet ache that left Anthony feeling like jelly beneath him, every careful touch unraveling another thread of restraint. Asa was always gentle with him. Especially like this—when every kiss felt less like desire alone and more like worship.
A soft sound escaped Anthony as Asa bent to press a lingering kiss beneath his ear, right where his pulse fluttered helplessly. Anthony’s breath caught sharply, fogging the lenses of his glasses until the world beyond Asa blurred into soft haze.
Asa drew back only slightly, amusement and adoration mingling in the soft curve of his mouth.
“Oh, darling,” he murmured, voice warm like honey. Asa pulled back just an inch, a fond, amused smile tugging at the corners of his mouth that made his pace slow down. "You've gone and steamed yourself right up."
With agonizing slowness and absolute tenderness, Asa slid his fingers behind Anthony’s ears, carefully slipping the frames down the bridge of his nose. He set them aside on the nightstand with a soft, careful click.
Anthony made a quiet, needy whine, his hands fumbling upward to catch Asa's forearms. “Put ’em back,” he muttered, all sharpness dulled into affection and need. “Can’t see your pretty face…”
The laugh that rumbled out of Asa was soft enough to melt stone. He shifted immediately, lowering himself until their mouths barely brushed, until Anthony could see him perfectly again at such impossible closeness.
“Is this better?” Asa whispered against his lips.
His eyes were unbearably soft. Open. Devoted in a way that made Anthony’s chest ache.
Anthony’s fingers slid into Asa’s curls, holding him there as though the world itself might steal him away. He kissed him deeply, slow and helplessly fond, pouring every unsaid thing into the press of his mouth.
“Better,” Anthony breathed, lips still brushing Asa’s. His heart was beating so hard it almost hurt. “Don’t you dare move. Well—keep going, obviously—but don’t move away.”
Asa’s smile turned radiant, bright enough to rival the moonlight spilling around them.
“I wouldn’t dream of it, darling.”
He pressed closer then, chest flush against Anthony’s, one hand slipping beneath his thigh to draw him higher against him. The movement pulled a broken gasp from Anthony’s throat, his head tipping back against the pillows as heat unfurled through him in slow, dizzying waves.
“Asa—”
“I know,” Asa soothed immediately, kissing the corner of his mouth, his jaw, and then the flushed skin beneath his ear. “I know, darling.”
The praise and tenderness together were almost cruel in how thoroughly they unraveled him. Every slow shift of Asa’s body drew another helpless sound from Anthony, who could do little more than cling to him and breathe his name like prayer.
Without his glasses, the room had disappeared entirely into soft blur. There was only Asa.
Only the breathless parting of his lips.
Only the flutter of dark lashes against flushed cheeks.
Only the look in his eyes—that endless, impossible love that still startled Anthony every time he saw it directed at him.
That devastating look of complete devotion.
“You’re beautiful like this,” Asa whispered, forehead resting against Anthony’s as their breaths mingled. “So responsive for me. My sweet professor.”
Anthony gave a shaky laugh that dissolved into a gasp as Asa moved again, unhurried and deliberate enough to leave him trembling. “You are insufferable,” he managed weakly, though the fondness in his voice ruined the insult entirely.
“And you adore me.”
“Unfortunately.”
Asa laughed softly, the sound warm and intimate between them, before capturing Anthony’s mouth again. The kiss deepened slowly, lazily, until Anthony felt completely consumed by it. by him. He could feel the steady thrum of Asa’s heartbeat against his chest, could feel the careful restraint in every touch despite how badly he wanted.
Holy crap wtf it's actually mermay already??? My internal clock is so cooked. I was like "damn ive seen 3 mermay posts, they're a little early but hey! Im not complaining" thinking there were like. months left. But anyways
