Why is seeing Boom in *Yesterday* making me cry actual tears of joy???

Maybe it’s because he’s sharing the screen with two of my other absolute favorites and my heart simply does not have the capacity to handle that level of serotonin at once 🥹

Sometimes it’s not even about the plot — it’s just seeing someone you’ve rooted for getting these moments. And suddenly you’re crying over a scene that isn’t even sad. Just… overwhelming in the best way.

The plot of the Chinese novel 昨天 (Yesterday) by Feng Nong is a modern-day boys' love (BL) story with a dark and dramatic tone. The main character, Shengsheng, (vier) falls for Yujiang (kelvin), whom he initially believes is an innocent and harmless person he needs to protect. However, a traumatic event orchestrated by a family member of Yujiang leads Shengsheng to discover that Yujiang's innocent facade is a carefully constructed deception.

Yujiang is revealed to be a manipulative and calculating character with "yandere" tendencies, who becomes possessive when Shengsheng tries to leave him after discovering his true nature. The story explores the conflict and discord between the two main characters as Shengsheng grapples with this revelation and tries to escape, while Yujiang refuses to let him go.
