Starfire! Started this months ago and only just now finished it. I added versions with and without the glowy eyes because I actually really liked how the coloring for eyes came out. I’m thinking I may recolor this at some point to be Blackfire?

Edit: I wasn’t happy with the background so I added the moon and a little more lighting effects

Probably will still not be posting much because even now that I’m on summer break and have the time I’m just not very inspired. Sorry to those who requested things from me :/

Life Update

So, quick update, especially for those who have requested stuff. I was just hit with a lot of exams/projects/work stuff, and I still have more to finish up especially in the next two weeks or so, so any art I do will probably just be little drawings or stuff for myself to de-stress. I promise I will get back to the things in my to do list, but I may not have a lot of time/brain power to put into things I actually want to look nice in the near future. Just wanted to update people before I just stopped posting.

I’ve been meaning to work on this one for like 2 weeks (I came up with the idea almost immediately after watching it that I absolutely HAD to redraw this scene), but between school and work and other drawings, I was only just now able to finish! The one good thing about snow days I guess! I think that the two of them are amazing together and it was so awesome to see them standing up to the guy that has caused both of them so much pain. It’s always sad to see the current volume end, but I’m excited for the next one as always!

To Do List

So here’s a general list of drawings I have in mind at the moment to be done. I will put both drawings I personally want to do and also any requests on here and hope to update the list pretty regularly. My goal is to complete the requests in the order listed, with sprinkling in some drawing ideas of my own, and to let people who requested/are planning to request something have a rough idea of what else I have on my plate to know roughly how long until I will have any given drawing completed (a drawing normally only takes me a day or two when I have time to work on it). This is also going to be used so that people who requested drawings can verify that I received and accepted their requests.

Filled a request for @nutslovesdolts ! This is Dr. Merlot from the RWBY Grimm Eclipse game! Took a bit of creative liberty for the back of the lab coat, but the RWBY world seems quite fond of putting related symbols on character’s backs so I figured it wasn’t too much of a jump. This drawing took me a bit longer than I intended, so thank you for your patience!

I have a bit of an odder request? Or one that would be less known, would it be at all possible to draw Dr. Merlot from Grimm Eclipse?, there is practically nothing for the guy anywhere Thank you and your ART IS AWSOME

I will do my best! I haven’t played Grimm Eclipse so I have to do a bit of research into the character (you’re right .... there really doesn’t seem to be much on the guy), but I will try to start working on it this weekend maybe? Also, thank you!

Ask Box

As I’ve said before, the point of me sharing my art is to hopefully inspire other people and to be able to show what I’ve taught myself to do. That being said, if people ever have any questions about what techniques I’ve found for making my art or about what tools I use or just any general questions for me, feel free to drop a question in the “Ask me anything!” page!

Request Policy

I’ve had people ask about me doing requests, so I just want to clear the air and give my thoughts on it:

I am open for suggestions if people have a specific character that they want to see. If you do have a request, feel free to shoot me a message so that I can hopefully discuss with you to fully understand what/who you want. That being said, at least for the time being I would like to limit it to being human/humanoid characters, no OCs, and try to limit requests to be only 1-2 characters. This is because of my knowledge of my skillset and time commitments and also because of the general availability of reference materials for well-known characters versus OCs. However, these limits are not set in stone and I may change this policy later on if I deem necessary.

Something to keep in mind when it comes to requests though is that I do not do art full time. I am currently a sophomore studying Computer Science in a very rigorous program and I work two jobs on campus. I normally use my art as a way to calm down my mind from all of the homework and work stress, but at the end of the day, my academics and work commitments come before my art. 

I will try my best to complete any character requests that people have, but it may take a while if it’s a particularly rough week in my schedule. If I do get backed up, I will try my best to keep in touch with people about a general timeline, but if people get impatient or start to pester for constant updates, I do reserve the right to not complete the request. I will try my best to fulfill my end of the request, but I do expect patience and respect, especially since I do not currently charge for my art and am purely doing this in my free time. 

I hope this can be a good guide for my expectations regarding requests and I look forward to seeing what you come up with for me to draw in the future. If you have any questions about my policy or if you want to put in a request, go ahead and shoot me a message! Once I accept a request, it will be added to my to do list here!

Sharing Policy

So it recently came to my attention when I was scrolling through Facebook and found my own drawing shared that I never really address what my expectations were for other people sharing my art, especially off Tumblr.

First and foremost, I am thrilled that you want to share my work! It really means a lot to me that people feel such a connection to my art that they feel the need to display it on their own pages. My whole goal with posting my art is to inspire creativity in others and to see other people reacting to my works really means a lot to me! 😊

That being said, there are definitely right and wrong ways to go about sharing someone else’s work. So here’s what I’ve come up with as some base guidelines with what expectations I have if people want to share my art:

1. Please credit the source! That means both not editing my pictures to not have my signature and also linking to my page if you share off Tumblr. I’ve had issues in the past with people trying to take credit for my art and only backing down when I called them out for my signature still being on the picture and I do not want to have to go through that process again. 

2. If you do share something off of Tumblr, please send me a quick message with the link to the post! I love to see how people respond to my art, but I can only do that if I am aware of the audiences it might be reaching. I want to see just how far my art spreads, and I would love it if the people that choose to share my art would help me to be able to see that by letting me know.

I just made a Patreon!

So, I’ve been thinking about it for a while and finally decided to make a Patreon account! I plan on using it to show off both works in progress and time lapse videos of the process of making my art, as well as to hopefully eventually use the different tier options as a way of doing specific requests! I still need to play around with the page more to fully set things up, but here’s the link for my page! A little more procrastinating/attempted destressing on my part before finals in a few days. After seeing a young Maria in V.6 Ep.7, I just had to do a side by side, especially seeing how similar their styles are! And the quote that Maria says in Ep.6 when coaching Ruby through purposefully using the powers was soooo beautiful too! Ugh I love this show too much …

I also thought it would be cool to do a little grayscale version and just highlight the capes! Thought it would be cool to have the capes contrasting with the color scheme of the silver eyes and the background!
