Limerick of the Rings 💍
The ongoing saga of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings as told by a drunken bard, one limerick at a time, every few days as long as people ❤️ reblog & comment ✍️
(Who says epic poetry's dead?)

There once was a hobbit from the Shire Whom a wizard once came to inquire “If adventures you’d see Why don’t you come with me? Your particular skills we require…”
🧝♀️🚪🧝♂️
22 It was Merry though in the end Who asked “What’s the Elvish for ‘friend’?” When someone said “Mellon” The door swung right open So down in the mine they’d descend…

23 But the mines were as still as a tomb And they wandered the halls in the gloom Amid all the stones All they found were dwarf bones And a book that detailed their doom…
⚔️✍️⚔️
The enemy turned out to be orcs (Everyone guessed that of course) Though fighters renowned The orcs cut the dwarfs down Since they overwhelmed them in force…
🤫🤫🤫
25
But a helmet dropped down in a well
And clattered and clanked as it fell
They tried to be quiet
(Who wants an orc riot?)
Were they even still here? Who could tell?
😬😬😬
26
They waited in silence and dread With visions of orcs in their heads Suddenly, there’s a sound And the nine gathered round And prepared for the battle ahead…
⚠️⚠️⚠️
27
Worse than just orcs - they had a troll! (One they barely could seem to control) When the fight started The troll they outsmarted (Instead of it eating them whole)
⚔️‼️⚔️
28
They killed all the orcs in the end (the ring bearer they had to defend) The troll almost got him Which would have been rotten And a fate that I’d not recommend…

29 Circumstances were still very grave. But our band of brothers was brave Through the stone halls they ran (Though not much of a plan) They all had to get out of this cave!
👹👹👹
30
They came to the stairs and they climbed
But a bellowing came from behind
A balrog! (A daemon
Who wanted to eat them)
A fiercer foe you’d never find!
🔥🧙♂️🔥
31
When they crossed a bridge Gandalf stayed back To stop the balrog on their track A fiery daemon Could our wizard beat him? Then the monster came on the attack…
🫣🧙♂️🫣
32
High above the molten morass
Gandalf cried “You shall not pass!”
The fiery fiend
Bellowed and screamed
But the wizard remained, bold as brass
✨🧙♂️✨
33
Spitting spells of his magical craft
Gandolf struck the stone bridge with his staff
The balrog’s eyes flamed
The wizard remained
The one obstacle blocking its path…
😬🔪😬
34
When the Fellowship had crossed the bridge
They turned to Gandolf to encourage
The old man to cross
(Since all was not lost)
But the battle was on a knife’s edge…
