In short:

In a place which evokes especially painful memories in Verano, he seeks out a couple of people for a violent sexual distraction - as he is wont to do in situations like this. However, later at a shore near his camp, bloody and beaten, he finds that it did very little to comfort him as he tries to wash away his continued melancholy.

This is when a travel companion of his approaches the shore and asks about where he's been. After some banter they wind up playing in the water, and soon the conversation turns serious and wholesome. Verano’s excitedness returns, brought upon more than just the need for a distraction.

Just dumping a few illustrations to introduce one of my favourite projects, Paragons.

It's a universe made more or less specifically to fuck with gender norms and roles, empowers women, non-binary/agender and other LGBTQ+ people.

It features Dark Souls inspired aesthetics, but is in large contrast 90 % stupid, childish comedy.

The premise is about 4 major countries more or less evenly sharing a continent. In keeping with the peace they've started an initiative, Paragons, which gathers a military representative from each country, along with a small force. Their objective is to do co-op training and missions across the continent to stabilise relations. It just so happens that each representative is a complete self-serving doofus and competent like a three year old.

I look forward to getting more into it.

I have a bunch of personal stuff piled up, and I think it's finally time to release them into the wild.

This guy likes long walks on the beach, overthrowing makeshift paramilitary governments, meta-exploring grey zones in a lawless apocalyptic landscape and can't cut his claws without putting the immediate vicinity of him in mortal peril.

(My Joker/Batman hyperfixation hasn't died, but I do draw other things as well, lol. Figured I might as well share where I've built somewhat of a platform.)
