Hey guys! Just thought I should let you know that I accept requests. I'm trying to get better at writing actual fics (imagines, oneshots, etc.), but I am pretty good with headcannons.
I am in multiple fandoms, if you don't see your favorite listed- don't be shy to ask!
Fandoms/characters I can write for:
The Outsiders (mainly the Curtis gang tbh), Ponyboy platonic only
The Walking Dead, I'm honestly better at writing the main characters 🥲
I love the idea that dally died in regret. He regrets letting ponyboy and Johnny go into the church. He regrets telling ponyboy to get tough. He regrets dying because ponyboy still needs him. He regrets leaving the gang. He regrets not protecting Johnny more.
I hope you're not overwhelmed with requests but if they're still open would you please write headcanons (or whatever you prefer) with Daryl Dixon and a reader like this?
reader probably met the main cast around the time the group stayed with the Greene's (they lived in an abandoned building in the nearby town maybe – that detail probably doesn't matter) they have a very calm and composed nature but they're not shy and don't take unnecessary shit. they got grit💪
when they get closer to the group they often go out to get supplies and food/water for them, rather than verbally or physical expressing care
I do like to imagine they're polite and thoughtful but not outwardly affectionate? they're not hostile just closed off. but they have a soft spot for kids, and they seem to often have Daryl's back
they used to babysit a lot before the outbreak, but the kids they basically saw as their own babies didn't survive the beginning of the apocalypse and they had suppressed that grief until they quietly breakdown infront of Daryl one night?
maybe around their time in Alexandria
anyways I hope you're having a lovely day! thank you for all the Daryl content, he's so beautiful I love him💜✨✨
Hey!!! Thank you for the request, they are most definitely still open!
When you guys first met he didn't care much for you (obviously). He stayed out of your way and you stayed out of his
Since you frequently volunteer to search for supplies, he would probably like you more because you weren't just a waste of resources
You stood out a lot more to him when you wouldn't let Shane walk all over you (yes, Shane will ALWAYS be the villain in my stories)
You definitely talk back but not in a rude way, more in a "don't tell me what to do or how to act" way
You also probably volunteer to watch over Carl when Lori and Rick couldn't
Daryl also definitely has a soft spot for kids
Time skip to prison era
Since there are a lot of children during the prison era, you use your free time to teach them
You likely do supply runs with daryl now
^He doesn't mind taking you with him because he does not see you as a liability
This is how you get close, you guys work really well as a team which is something he likes
You don't talk much and he doesn't talk much but somehow you guys always know when the other needs help
Time skip to Alexandria
Since he's probably not great with relationships, I hc that it takes you guys this long to be "official"
It would probably be one of those late-night talks, not a pillow talk though. Yk those times when you stay up with someone until like 2-3 am and you guys start having some deep conversations?
It's late and you both let your guard down, which made it easier for you to speak more openly
I picture you guys to be reminiscing about the prison era and eventually get the the fall
You would think about the children that were saved, which just ended up reminding you of the ones that weren't
You would say it in passing, but somehow that made it more real
Daryl wouldn't say much, the silence was inviting
The more you talked about your kids, the more you realized the reality
he wouldn't really know how to comfort you, he might put his hand on your shoulder or gently rub you back
He wouldn't be able to come up with the right words
He would try comforting you with small touches or just by keeping you company, letting you cry it out without judgement
Once that was over, he would give you the space to talk more about it or simply just sit in silence, coming to terms with your world
The next day, he would not talk about it unless you did first, but he also wouldn't completely ignore what had happened
He would be nicer to you that day and maybe even do some extra tasks for you

Sorry if this wasn't up to standards. I was afraid to mess up your character lol. Feel free to request any changes <3
Ive come to the horrifying realization that almost EVERYONE treats Johnny Cade like a y/n stereotype, “shy, weak, cute, needs his big strong boyfriend”
Baby, he STABBED and KILLED someone for the person he loves
Darlin’ he stood up the scariest person in his gang because he didn’t like how dal was talking to the girls
Sweetheart he RAN INTO A BURNING BUILDING WITHOUT HESITATION to save some kids.
Motherfucker here survived a life of abuse, he found home in a world that sought to tear him down and leave him there. He closest to Dallas than anyone else FOR A REASON. He would kill someone if it meant survival.
He’s not “shy” he’s cautious. Everyone could be a threat; he’s ready to fight someone as soon as they approach. He’s not “helpless” he’s watching, hes observant.
PLEASE OEKASE OLEASE PLLLEEEAAASSEEE stop mischaracterizing Johnny Cade.
I see a lot of people mention how Darry would likely keep his parents wedding rings and give it to his special someone. BUTTTT- I think that Darry would let Sodapop use the rings when he finds the right person for him.
I also hc that whether Darry realizes it or not, he tests Sodapop's new partners to see if they are deserving of their parents rings.
Hiiiiii!! I noticed you were taking requests for the outsiders and was wondering if you could do some hcs of what it would be like to date sodapop?? No pressure of course take your time☺️
Omg yes!!! Thank you for requesting 🫶
For starters, I know everyone says this but- he's clingy.
^I don't think he's "I can't breathe get off of me" clingy, he's more of a lost puppy clingy. yk what I mean? Like he needs to be near you at all times but he does not need to be on you
His love language is definitely physical touch and quality time
^ I know he's known for not being able to sit still, but I think if you guys are doing something entertaining enough (like building something), he will sit still
If this is post-Sandy, he has some trust issues
^He'll probably want to know where you're going and with who, gives him peace of mind yk??
He remembers your birthday and your anniversary
^He's a hopeless romantic, so he probably started planning at least a month in advance
He will help you with any car troubles you come across and he will definitely pick you up if your car has completely broken down
He can be serious, if he thinks something is wrong he will tone down his usual personality
He's a great hugger, mainly because he likes hugs
I feel like he is an empath (to some degree), he is great at knowing when someone is upset and tries to comfort them
He will definitely be the person you run to when you're upset since he is a great shoulder to cry on
^He's a surprisingly good listener, he will listen to your talk about your problems and give you actual good advice??
You will probably end up being the person he goes to when Darry and Pony fight, he will vent to you about his brothers
He's a gentleman (opening doors for you, walking on the street side of the sidewalk, etc.)
I can see him picking a flower for you every time you two go on a walk together, you might have a little box with all the flowers he's picked for you (if you're sentimental like that)
He enjoys PDA, but will tone it down if you're not into that
I headcannon that Soda and Steve would like and maybe even partake in street-takeovers and/or illegal street-racing. I mean we already know they're both adrenaline junkies (don't quote me), so I feel like the adrenaline combined with their shared interest in cars would really draw them to that sort of thing. Look idk how things worked back then so it could just be a modern day hc??
your last one shot was so cute🥺 you think you could do something with a reader who has a collection of polaroid photos that she took herself, and all the pics are of either nature, animals or people of the group, and daryl asks her why she likes taking pictures so much, and she says she likes to capture the beauty the world still has to offer, and after a moment of silent daryl mutters: "there aint no picture of you tho" and she doesnt understand at first, but after she does she just go OH, sorry if this is a bit confusing, english is not my first language🤪
This is such a cute idea omgggg!!! It's not confusing at all lol, English isn't my first language either 🙂↔️
The sun was beginning to set, there were a few people outside either enjoying the scenery or finishing up their jobs. You looked around and spotted a small group of people sitting on some big, uneven rocks they were all laughing with together. This was it! You thought to yourself before pulling out your camera and angling it to capture the people and the beautiful, color-changing sky. After getting your perfect picture, you walked over to a small bench and placed the photo down to allow it to set.
"What you got there?" Daryl asks as he begins to make his was over to the bench you were resting on. "Polaroids!" you say, lifting a few up to show him. "Polaroids? For what?" He questions while taking the pictures out of your hand and carefully examining them.
"No particular reason, just thought I should capture the beauty this world still has to offer." You respond, while your fingertips grazed over the petals of a nearby sunflower. Both you and the sunflower enjoying the last bit of sun in the day.
"Beauty, huh? I ain't see a picture of you here." He responds, while handing you back the photos he had taken. He looks at you for a moment before dismissing himself with the excuse of having something to do.
You didn't pay much mind to his comment until you began collecting your photos, preparing to leave. Your mind wondered back to your conversation with Daryl. I ain't see a picture of you here. A picture of me? What was that supposed to mea- oh. OH! You felt your face heat up, did he actually mean that? No he must have said it in passing. He probably didn't even know what he had said, right? You were wrong and a part of you knew it.
I headcannon that Darry has already started to grey but is embarrassed that most people his age haven't so he decides to dye it. Yk those spray-on dyes?? yeah that's what he uses since its quick. I also don't think he would consider spray-on to be dye, so to him he's technically not dyeing his hair.
I saw you were taking requests for the walking dead!! I have ideas of my own but I have too many requests to get through at the moment and I’m always looking to help people with their writing so maybe you could write one of my ideas!?
Daryl x reader, Daryl is crushing on the reader and instead of telling her (because let’s face it, season 1 Daryl ain’t spoken to no girl before, even pre apocalypse) he leaves or gives her kind gestures. Catches her food like fish, squirrels..notices she like collecting flowers and drying them, maybe she finds new flowers under the stones she was using to dry the ones she picked etc and the reader knows who it is but doesn’t want to embarrass Daryl so she just admires him back from a distance!!
Anyways, you don’t have to write this but it would be great to see how other write it 🥰
Hey! Yes, I love this idea!! 🤩 I'm writing this during peak Alexandria era (hope you don't mind).
Beware: I used "y/n" in this😓
Characters: 2886
The hot sun was blaring down on you as you placed some delicate flowers on the flattest stone you could find. The stone was standing in the perfect position to absorb the sun. You suddenly hear a familiar voice behind, "Hey, Carol. You're back early." You say before turning to face her.
"What's this?" asked Carol as she examined the book placed on your porch steps, next to a few different colored flowers. "That? It's my flower book! I'm really hoping to have it completely filled with different flowers!" You responded, flipping through all your completed pages and explaining how they're organized.
"But anyways, what are you doing h---" Before you could finish your question, another voice approaches. "Carol, Ricks lookin' for ya." Daryl. You didn't even need to turn around to know who the voice belonged to. "Yeah, yeah. I'm going. I'll talk to you later, Y/N." And with that, Carol rushed off.
That left just you and Daryl. Standing in silence. "So...what do you have there?" You ask, pointing to the bag he's loosely holding onto. "Fish." "Fish? I hope you plan on sharing!" You responded, half-joking but mostly serious. He glances at you before responding, "Yeah. Take one if you'd like." He tried to sound as casual as he could, knowing he only went fishing because he heard you mention your craving to Carol.
He places the bag down and begins reaching into it before you stop him. "Wait! I actually can't...cook." You confess with an awkward laugh. You were a little embarrassed, I mean who doesn't know how to cook in an apocalypse...right? The answer was you, you didn't know how to cook in the apocalypse.
"Oh...I could cook it with mine, but I've been real busy so don't expect it by tonight." He responded while closing the bag up again. He gave you a quick and small wave before walking off. He knew he was lying, not about being busy because busy he is, but about not expecting the fish by tonight. He knew why he was in such a hurry to reach his house, he needed to have this fish ready for you by tonight.
Later that night, you were reading a book on your couch before a small knock interrupted. By the time you reached the door the person on the other side was gone. You glanced down seeing a container, there was no note attached yet you knew exactly who it was from after opening it.
A few days later, you went to check on the flowers you had left on the stone. The sun had dried them up nicely, you carefully picked them up to not ruin the delicate petals. As you began to walk over to your porch steps, a gust of wind blew past you, making some of the petals rip off and land on the slightly over-grown grass. You placed the first half of the flower inside the first page of your book so the wind wouldn't blow the rest of it away.
As you kneeled down to pick the petals up, you noticed a few flowers piled together. They were being held down by a small, round stone. The flowers were beautiful and still looked fresh, they couldn't have been there for more than an hour or two. You pick them up and looked around, that's when you spot him. You just knew he left them there, you remember the way his eyes lingered on your drying flowers and the open book set on your steps.
You knew you couldn't thank him, he had left the flowers here anonymously likely because he did not want to be discovered. But, you saw the way he hung around as if he was waiting for you to notice the gift he had left. All you could do was watch him from afar, feeling warm inside because this could mean he feels the same way about you.
