                 HER  GAZE  IS  DOWNCAST,  overridden  by  worried  thoughts.  freedom  was  a  seemingly  easy  request,  and  yet  they  were  in  the  midst  of  a  pseudo-war   with  humanity.  all  they  request  is  freedom,  and  they’re  treated  like  the  enemy  for  it  ...  it  troubles  kara  immensely,  leads  her  down  a  path  of  extreme  resistance  as  she  tries  to  protect  her  child.

                                         why  was  there  no  mercy  ?

               markus  seems  so  tall,  figuratively.  the  model  of  freedom  and  equality.  her  gratefulness  for  him  can  hardly  be  expressed,  especially  not  easily.  her  motherly  gaze  catches  him,  eyes  alight  with  something  akin  to  sadness.  he,  just  as  her,  only  wanted  freedom  for  their  people.  and  he  was  so  much  stronger  than  kara  -  he  had  the  gall  to  actually  fight  for  it,  instead  of  running.   she  manages  to  smile  at  him,  though  sadness  still  shows  in  the  planes  of  her  face.
