I haven't really had a lot of time to spend on painting since becoming sick on New Years. This was a good opportunity to push myself and work on my hues and saturation. :]

Apologies for not updating very often; I'm trying to get back into regular updates, heh.
A quick paint over of a sketch I had sitting in my sketchbook. I want to finish it at some point when I get a break in between all my current projects.
I always feel the strongest urge to paint when I have a million other important things to do, UGHHHHHH.
Artist Takeover Post #2 - Week 11
aka; Artist documentation that she actually does work post.
aka; Artist procrastination post.
aka; Artist can’t sleep because she’s nocturnal post.
So we’ve decided to skip ahead a bit in our game dev to the area in which the thick of action and suspense takes place, which SPOILERS it’s the city. To get a rough idea of what we want the level to look like, I did a rough paint over of one of Ben’s sketches of what a potential level may look like. Following that is an early days concept art of my idea for the city area and some of the possible assets we may use for doorways and windows, platforms etc.
Basically I wanted the city to be very vertical, lots of thin skycrapers, I envision Charlie leaping over balconies from tower to tower, clambering up ladders and such. I also wanted to incorporate sexy sexy parallax. So I decided to utilise the classic sunset city backdrop to emphasise the contrast between foreground and background with the skyline utilising the parallax to maximum effect. I also really like the mood that the oranges sets as it brings closure to the level.
As for the city itself, I wanted it to feel communal and have some organic material to make it feel somewhat homely. I didn’t want it to be completely sterile and cold, so I plan to have some foliage within the city itself. Though there still needs a little more design work to find a happy balance where the assets don’t look TOO fantasy orientated but also not too bland.
Hopefully in the coming week we’ll see more of the 1st pass assets being churned out. Exciting times!

/Cries about how great sci-fi is
I wish my art style lent better to painting cool space ships and armor and stuff. I hope I can improve my painting and 3D modelling enough to actually make some cool polished sci-fi stuff one day.
Hey look the artist finished something! Bree does Asunder icons/banners 2013; the blog; the experience.
“If you like sand and mysterious obelisk-like structures, you’re going to love Asunder! Tell your friends!” - New York Times
I paint a lot of sand and clouds these days.

Asunder Dev Blog - Artist Takeover Post 1, Week 9
Designated Artist #1 Reporting!
Hopefully this week we will be implementing some more lush and vibrant environments and beginning to develop areas more relevant to actual gameplay than precursor environments!
I have to say that one of the...
So I'm making an iOS 2D platforming game with some cool peeps, and y'all should check it out because it's TOTALLY RAD.
We're also constantly looking for testers!!! -> AW YEAHHH
We also have Facebook and Twitter!!
Dabbling in Sketchup
At one point I wanted to make myself a crest/emblem/...thing, but I only got so far as this sketch because I got sidetracked onto other artworks (as usual ). I'd like to give it another shot eventually.
I haven't played Guild Wars 2 in ages! Coloured version of the sketch I posted. This was a texture/fur experiment for me, I enjoyed playing with her hair~ :3c
I find it's hard to retain all the character from a sketch when I render them. This is my Guild Wars 2 character, Mariame. Of course I would pick the cat people race. HNGH CATS. (I want to keep this blog fanart free but she's KIND OF my character so I'll let this one slide, haha)
Bug people are just really interesting to draw.
SKETCHES YEAH + art updates
I'm thinking I'll try to post a sketch or two every couple of days, or at least once a week, so I can get into the habit of shaking my ideas out regularly. I'm going to tag them as 'Bree Sketches' if you don't want to see my rough work.
At the moment I'm working on a small iOS game! I'm looking forward to sharing some of the art once we get a little further into the project and if anyone's interested we'd love to have more testers on test flight, so I'll post those details soon-ish.
A sketch of a creature I'd like to try modelling sometime
A cutesy vibrant character I made for myself as some modelling practice. Finished model, wireframe, UV map and sketch. :D
A super old painting from... 2009?
A low poly mech that I made for myself to see how low I could go! Here's the model, wireframe, UV map and sketch
