hello! I think I reblogged half your art on this blog by now 😅 sorry for the notification spam. I love your art style!
I'm a traditional artist that has been trying (with questionable success) to transition to digital. it's really hard to coordinate eyes-hand-tablet, however. 🤧
but your trad art looks incredibly vivid and your colours super vibrant! could you share what you use? whenever I paint with watercolours, the colours are terribly murky and dull. I'm in awe at your expertise!
also what type of scanner do you use? do you have one at home or do you use a print shop's scanner service? do you edit your files to adjust colours afterwards?
Hi! Thank you for your interest in my art. ^__^ I'd be happy to show you my tools.
I use only watercolors from Nevskaya Palitra (St. Petersburg). Brushes are completely different - some are synthetic, and some are squirrel. Some are very old, made of sable.
Coloured pencils Berlingo, Faber Castell and Koh-i-noor. If you need very soft pencils, go with the first two.
Watercolor paper with different grain sizes, depending on how much detail I want in the drawing. The format also varies, but the density is always at least 300 gsm.
I use a home scanner. Print shop scanners distort color reproduction too much.
I only do minimal editing of scanned works in Photoshop – adjusting brightness and contrast. Because that's all I know how to do. XD
