First proper piece with dialogue and it’s Buzzy freaking out. 😭 Anyway, here’s a sequel piece to a painting I did many months ago in which Buzzy and Cortex were lost in the middle of nowhere. I thought it would be fun to experiment with something that looked like a screenshot with subtitles.

Fun fact, I was gonna have Cortex with his hands on his hips with the intention of making him look confident, but it almost looked like he was disappointed in Buzzy, which is super out of character for my AU. Instead, I decided to have him drop the facade for a little bit.

ugh i still believe captain cortex’s eyes are WAY cuter and more appealing than buzzy’s fuckass blue eyed stare (with all the love in my heart). i showed that second picture to a friend and they said “he looks pissed off” and i couldn’t agree more.

Cranium Command headcanon of mine that I like to think is funny:

As a commando-in-training, General Knowledge’s first assignment was to pilot the brain of a puppy. He is deeply embarrassed by the aforementioned job and literally turns red with rage whenever one of the other sergeants brings it up to tease him, yet it undeniably ended up giving him a soft spot for dogs.

Whenever he checks in on a recruit and sees the craft that they’re piloting has a puppy, he immediately gets sidetracked, baby-talks it for a few minutes and then the second he comes to his senses, screams at the pilot to keep their mouth shut about it. None of the commandos who have witnessed this have ever been brave enough to snitch to their co-workers.

Meanwhile, (as an exaggeration from the demo audio), Captain Cortex is deathly afraid of dogs; ESPECIALLY those small, energetic puppies. However, he’s way too overconfident to admit that and instead pretends to strongly dislike them. You can only imagine how much this silently infuriates the General.

Finishing 2025 with a Captain Cortex t shirt design, now available on my Redbubble and Teepublic. It's honestly surprising to have gotten to see his official cartoon design this year. It was mostly a mystery up until this year. Here's hoping for more Cranium Command discoveries in 2026.

Well, here’s that Buzzy and Cortex drawing I was working on. It took me a while to finish because I was busy with other projects. Consider this one of many pieces of “clip art” I’m gonna do for not only my Cranium Command AU but also my OCs. It’s just a fun, simple way of showing off their personalities without drawing an entire scene every single time I come up with a random idea.

For once, I draw Buzzy and Captain Cortex's official designs instead of my AU ones, although I took some liberties with Cortex this time as I wanted to draw him in a style closer to the Cranium Command preshow just to fit in better with Buzzy. Originally, the plan was to put them together in a more special piece, but it was scrapped at the last minute. Maybe some other day...

For now, enjoy the silly little guys in their original designs. Admittedly, drawing these felt odd, since I'm so used to my AU interpretations, especially with how I don't have to draw hair. None of them seem to be canonically bald, but still.
