Mercy
Hope, to have mercy in life
So people could treat you the same way.
The way of niceness and kindness.
To have happiness
By performing good deeds in life.
Showing mercy, like God shows you.
Then the favors of God will not be denied.

There’s a book
upon the shelf
that yet remains untouched.
It has no one but itself
as it begins to gather dust.
Soon it begins to wonder
if it contains something wrong,
but in truth,
the person who is brave enough
to reach for it
has yet to come along.

Nature of Rain
An innocent drop of white water
descends slowly
from a moist leaf
unknowingly it exists.
Until it taps my forehead, reminding me of its presence
breaking my conscience
I suddenly focus on it
as it slithers down my calm face
with constant stops
gathering its family
and proceeds marching
to the soaked, exposed
land.

Love the person stirring
In the mirror.
To love someone
You must
Truly love them
With both your
Heart and soul
And never let them go
To love someone

Learn to free yourself of all hatred and fear
Because when you love someone
Life will never again be hard to bear.

A sly cat runs numbly through the night.
He climbs a tree and
catches a bird.
Then he leaps to a smaller tree
where he meets an angry bee.
Oh he did scamper so,
the black cat.
Quickly the black
sly cat ran
as quick as that.

The secret to
stop the flame is
to burn
the fire that
holds the match.
Love is surely further away
than hate,
consumed by the flame
that burns
in the heart.

On a Rock
I sit on a rock
that juts out of a river.
The river flows,
heedless to what surrounds it.
Swiftly curling around obstacles
and following the same path,
it moves onward.
Shafts of sunlight break through
the canopy of leads.
Their star shaped reflection
dances on the surface of the water
and all around.
My stone sits,
immense, immovable,
and waits.
Every bit of water that flows around it
slowly wears it away.
And so my stone waits,
and I wait on top of it,
reminded of God.

Pledge of Allegiance (a re-write)
I pledge allegiance
to one planet in the cosmos
to all beings in the universe
to the people of the people of this beautiful melting pot of colors
to my sisters and my brothers
to myself and others
to love
to the freedom to be me
to the belief that everyone can succeed
to the earth, to the sky, and the seas
to show the world the things we can achieve
to accepting differences, courage, equality
to families growing with joy and support
to open minds and open hearts
And to
confidence
determination
to the unyielding pursuit of peace
to the freedom of totters who are different from me
to going for broke
to everlasting hope
to the children, our seeds of the future

Lines
Lines can represent anything you want them to
Whether it is spikes, fire, or puffs of air
A line can do the job for you.
Lines are used as symbols to either draw you in or keep you out.
One simple line can mean many different things
And depict your view of the world.

Two Birds
I look to my left
And I look to my right
I see two birds that are out of
Sight!
I tell my sister
“Yo look at them birds”
She was like,
“Where, Where?”
I said right there
Girl are you blind
Do you need some binoculars?
You need to go to Rite Aid
And jump right in line
Grab those binoculars, put them on
Look at the birds
And say ow-weeeh
She said
“Oh them birds are out of sight”
And I said
“Okay baby!"
In my heart I see...
In my heart I see cats
Reading books.
My heart feels like
Playing basketball with his friends.
My heart loves dessert at Friendly’s.
My heart hates swimming with ballerinas.
My heart dreams of becoming
A rapping artist with his own song album.
That’s the feelings in my heart.

If my lawn started to talk to me
It would say
I am a part of your environment,
I make your property look beautiful,
I give color to the world.
I am soft if you fall.
The world used to look brownish,
But now I make it green and blue.
I make the environment better for you.
I’m perfect for picnics.
I am a living creature.
I am your friend.”

My pencil says “I’ll help you with it,”
And he does.
That’s what I think he does.
