i was gonna wait til i had a few more of these family drawings but school kicked my ass and i wont b drawing for a while so. heres gelphie family c:

this all started w me having baby fever and wanting to draw my own liir and gelphie baby (whos name is poppy, btw) . and then this all happened

the first drawing is a bit older poppy and liir and the glass cat is malky except hes not evil.

second one is the drawing that started it all..

and then i wanted to draw a cute elphie moment w the kids

and then i thought abt poppy birth and how. utterly amazed and awestruck and loving glinda would be. she would be so happy that poppy is green like her mom. she loves her sm.

and ofc elphie would b. awestruck at glinda and baby cuddling post birth. and liir would be such a good brother

and glinda would love the both of them equally so much its her kids.

always liked the idea that ivy lifted harley up. in this version she readies her for inevitable battle with joker.. a breakup of epic proportions XD

every now and then i like to take some existing characters and rethink them.

last year i kinda had a very prolonged brainfart about harley quinn

not perfectly accurate to her official version, kind of an elsewords approach

so basically me taking things in different direction as writing warmup excercise

so… you know, don’t take this seriously. nothing will come of it XD

there is a layered story behind this version, not something i want to overshare, but suffice to say i see harley and joker as a dark romance story you read in many smutty books nowadays, but with a dark end

joker is christian grey, he is edward cullen, he is every lean charismatic sociopatn entering a regular girls life  that you can read about in smutty romance….

but this isn’t a love story.. it’s a horror

it’s a story of a psychiatrist falling into  a deep abyss of mental illness, and being aware of it, and yet, being unable to stop it…

not alone at least.

As soon as I saw Emily waving to the mermaids/sirens who were calling her name, I thought of all the other times mermaids appeared with Emily throughout the season. Also thought of the inherently queer history of mermaids/sirens, which I think is an important detail for this scene in the finale, but also how in the gay bar Emily admits she loves Sue and is lured in by a mermaid to dance afterwards. The symbolism of it all!
